Halloween Horror Nights 24 Speculation

Recommended Posts

To be fair, you usually can't show blood, gore or dismemberment in a PG-13 movie so I would consider Cabin, Werewolf and Evil Dead as R Rated. Also killing children will get you an automatic M rating from the ESRB, so I think you could count La Llorona too.

I prefer a focus more on scares and atmosphere than gore and sex/nudity. Aiello definitely has less gore than Roddy but I think 2011 was the perfect house mix of gory and atmospheric and everything in between.

I don't remember seeing many previous houses with too much sexual innuendo, though this year we got the porno theater in AWIL and the, um, tree scene in Evil Dead. They seemed pretty careful that guests who had seen the movies knew what was going on but it would fly over the heads of the other guests.

I totally get toning those houses down since AWIL and the new Evil Dead were HARD R's while I believe the original Evil Dead was rated X.

Other Haunts are more intense and gory then HHN (Even smaller Haunts are). I'll admit last yr there was some elements that made it PG 13 and it was a step in the right direction but they have to keep up with it.

I personally think HHN is rated PG 13 so they don't have to sell kids tickets.

I'd be bummed if Walking Dead doesn't come back for third and final year. Even though I haven't liked the houses so far (thought the street experiences were very well done), season 4 has been a mass improvement to the show.

If they finally put in a sound stage they could create the grocery store scene with the walkers falling through the roof top.

Parade building is just as good as a sound stage. Many amazing houses have been there. I would guess if you didn't like it last year... Probably not going to like solely because it moved to a SS.

You know... Despite everything I've said, I do actually kind of want it to happen in some way this year, just so it can have a trilogy send off or something.

Ugh... I'm getting soft.

... Aliens (is that too wishful thinking? IDK)

I don't think it's too wishful thinking (although that may be my wishful thinking). When Mike announced the "OMG property" maze followed by Murdy's announcement of the "fan freak out" maze, I thought of two properties. Poltergeist or Aliens. (Mike needs to give out mazes code names! Things get confusing without them)

Now, I had dismissed Aliens because of tweets regarding epic characters and locations. Then I ended up defending my thoughts to my cousin and realized Aliens could fit.

Locations: Commisary, the planet, infirmary, cryo, airlock, egg room... There is a potential for many well know locations even though most reside within one location (the ship).

Characters: If the house is both Alien and Aliens, there is a greater range of character potential. Dallas, Ash, Kane, Ripley, Newt, Hicks, Bishop. And of course the Alien and the Queen.

Of course, I have been completely unable to link Aliens to "Beauty is only skin deep" and it's clues, but I'm still hopeful.

Really? You can't link a monster that incubates within the human body to a "beauty" that is only "skin-deep."

Here...

Beauty = Xenomorph

Skin = Human body

The clue for the maze code name "Beauty is only skin deep" is one of the following clues:

@HorrorNights: Hint #1: The code name "Beauty is only Skin Deep" refers to THINGS that are beautiful on the outside... But not on the inside...

(This would work for your explanation!)

Or:

@HorrorNights: Hint #2: the code name "Beauty is only skin deep" refers to the BUSINESS of Beauty products...

Or:

@HorrorNights: The code name "Beauty is only skin deep" refers to a horror property that stars a former model and/or beauty queen...

Only one of these is a real clue the other two are red herrings.

Bonus clue:

@HorrorNights: Bonus hint for maze #3 code-named "Beauty is only skin deep" The hint is, "Ding dong..." Can you guess what it is?

I was thinking hint #2 would work best with the bonus hint.
