The cast of HoH at 7:25. Best run I've had through yet.

The actor in the garden scene in Dead End around 11:25. One of the best scares I've gotten all year.

The warriors in the streets in Hollywood around 1 AM. They were really working hard, even at the end of the night. One of them really got me as I was sitting on the bench.

Much phrase to the two Prisoners by the lagoon late (closing set) last night. Who found me taking pictures of the lagoon. Then snuck up behind me and MADE me leave the zone.

To the vampire who likes to stay in a certain area in kid-zone. You always scare me. Also the vampire in the red/black hood who smells me. Like he's hungry. Nosferatu who always stays in character.

To the Traditionals, my phrase goes beyond high. Writing on the spongebob window, to the pumpkin having fun. Your truly wonderful to watch.

Props to the first nurse on Cast A at Silent Hill. She not only scared Duffy (almost scared him out one of his shoes too) and I, but she also tried to make him friends with the Robbie the Rabbit doll too.

Most of the House of Horrors cast (especially the wolfman) and the ones in the final gauntlet for targeting duffy by grabbing his face.

The garden scareactors in Dead End for trying to grab Duffy.

in the scarezone dept., The scareactress who confronted Duffy, Pal Mickey, and I by asking for "Sophie".

Many of the prisoner scareactresses, especially one of them who thought of Duffy as "pretty" (even though Duffy was wearing his police officer's outfit).

From last night, 10/5:

HOUSES:

SILENT HILL, opening cast:

This is the third time both Bogeymen have scared the crap out of me. I know I'll be seeing this guy in my nightmares long after I return home... if he lets me return home... D: Nurses, at least one of you makes me scream every time I come through. Nice job.

GOTHIC, opening: Bell ringer on the left strikes again!

WALKING DEAD (6:50): Got another group butt whoopin' courtesy of the Walkers. Also, I came back later and the dept. store Walker forced me down AGAIN. *grumble*

DEAD END (7:17): Best run through this house so far. "Oh SHIT" count: 3

LEGIONS:

VAMPIRES:

6:12: Nosferatu in Central Park, you came SO close to getting the first cuss of the night.

7:33: "Nightmares" shout-out from a gorgeous passing female vamp

8:30: Was sitting on a bench near Mummy watching the Vampires when a female vamp in a white dress came over and sat with me. She kept licking and gnashing her fangs and scooting closer every time I moved away LOL. Funny and creepy.

11:30: I was sitting and watching once again, this time near Central Park, when a male vamp in a red/black robe came over, pointed at my shirt and gave a nod/snort of approval. Matador, I believe this may have been you- if it was, thanks!

Also, I don't remember the time, but later on I received a whisper of "Nightmare" from a male vamp dressed in white. Yay shout-out.

TRADITIONALS:

Blonde girl with the monkey mask and horn I kept running into all night: You're adorable! I'm sorry I didn't have candy for you. I'll have to bring you some.

Dark haired girl wearing the fox mask, a dress and also carrying a horn: You, on the other hand, are scary. You kept honking the horn in my face, chased me when I tried to run away, got upset when I didn't have candy, called me a liar when I said I'd bring some and told me liars get turned into "fresh meat". Hmph... I shouldn't give you any after that, but if you find me tonight, I might have some candy. Look for the short girl wearing a Nightmares shirt and a blue backpack ;)

PRISONERS: Much love to the big, intimidating prisoner who got my name off my shirt and came back later with a sneer of "Oh look, it's STUMPY." Made my night!

INIQUITUS:

Squee... <3

This is kinda silly, but it was my favorite moment of the night. I really like the winged Iniquitus on stilts with the moving jaw, it's my favorite one. I was sitting in Hollywood around 8:05 watching the Traditionals and this guy was out. He's popular with the picture takers, so I totally wasn't expecting what happened next. Suddenly there was no one around him, and without warning, he charged right up to me, got super close (I couldn't have left that bench if I wanted to) and just stood there staring down at me for a VERY long time. I loved it! If he is on here, thank you! (if he isn't, I would really appreciate it if someone would pass my thanks on to him!)

So many good scareactor run-ins last night! Gothic cast around 6:00pm was awesome - really got my nephews. Walking dead cast around 6:25ish, also amazing. Penn & Teller house around 6:45 was great, especially whoever was in that light room... got a bit disoriented and they got me good! lol House of Horrors cast was awesome around 7:15. Person at the end of the Alice Cooper house, I believe around 7:35-7:40, you ROCK! Probably one of the best scares of the night for me.

Street people... Got my nephews and I pretty good distracting us in front of Monster cafe around 6:15 - got tag teamed by girl with mask & pumpkin head person. That was the most memorable one, but I know a bunch of people got me throughout the night.

Good job all! Keep up the good work. :)

I have heard people say that a scareactor bent over backwards to obtain a scare before... but I've never seen it done quite so literally as last night. A Dragon Warrior, a little after midnight on Hollywood Blvd, came "running" out of the fog on all fours... upside down like Linda Blair in the notorious "Spider Walk" scene in The Exorcist!!! I didn't know such a feat was humanly possible. It was very creepy and quite impressive to watch and it scared the crap out of those he approached.

Also big shout out to the "little girl" in the Fox Mask who keeps terrorizing me almost every night - accusing me of trying to poison her and stalk her!

I've been at HHN every night so far except Thursday, and it just keeps getting better and better:

To Elvis in P&T - thank you, thank you very much ;-)

AC - The Jock under the bleachers - NO, I am watching YOU! lol.

Pumpkinhead in trenchcoat - you truly are The Great Pumpkin! Awesome scares every time, worst one in broad daylight near Rockit. OMG. I jumped out of my shoes!

From Friday night, the witchly advice about chugging vs sipping the beer to prevent spillage. That was too cool! Then the two chainsaw girls who found me and my friend behind the train, she totally freaked at the "smell like strawberries" , then the awesome argument and parting shower comment (soap!). PRICELESS.

You all have so much energy and great scares...all the Legions and Houses (still lose my voice each time after Gothic and Dead End!) Thank you for every amazing memory!

I've tried to put my shout outs from last night in the individual topics, but wasn't sure where to put this. So...

Much applause to the younger of Rat Lady's escorts. We had multiple en route encounters last night, and it is ALWAYS such a treat to share greetings. If you are visiting the Rat Lady, watch this escort as he slowly paces throughout the crowd. The creep factor is spot on.

While I suspect we may have had encounters in a previous incarnation - well, heck, I just don't know who or where that was. REGARDLESS - great fun as always - thanks, and look forward to more nights!

From last night, 10/6:

HOUSES:

SILENT HILL: Cast A's Bogeymen never fail to make me scream.

GOTHIC: Had two amazing runs through this house tonight at 6:15 and 11:40. Extra love to the gargoyle on my first run who pointed at my shirt and gave me an approving nod, I believe he was the first gargoyle in the scene immediately following the first flyer; the first two gargoyles on my second run who were all over me; and Cast A's bell ringer on the left who has maintained a perfect track record of scaring the shit out of me.

HOUSE OF HORRORS (6:25): The finale scareactors, who swarmed me and almost put me on the floor. Nice!

ALICE COOPER (6:40): Scored another mostly solo run in here. Once again I got demolished. Great job to all!

PENN AND TELLER (6:50): Best run so far. Kudos to the chef for scaring the glasses right off my face!

LEGIONS:

PRISONERS: Several of you nailed me tonight. I had a particularly memorable Prisoner who snuck up on me out of nowhere- I turned around to find her sniffing me and was quite startled. This was at 10:24 and I think she was part of the mini horde. Also, thanks to the Prisoner who said she liked my shirt as I was leaving the park.

BEASTS (1:03): I was on my way towards Sting Alley when one of them DASHED to intercept me and kept blocking my path and menacing me, resulting in me rapidly backing away. I can't get over how huge these guys are- I try my best to stay out of their path.

VAMPIRES:

Holy Christ you all are creepy... but loads of fun to watch too. I sat around for your last set last night and got menaced several times.

1:45- I had a very memorable male vamp who sat next to me and started licking his fingers while staring me down and edging closer. You have no idea how much that creeped me out.

PS- Nosferatu, you are hilarious. <3

TRADITIONALS:

Guy in the fox mask who keeps sitting with me, you're adorable. (but it creeps me out when you start sniffing me! lol)

8:20: Scare of the night, and possibly the whole weekend, goes to that girl in the fox mask I've mentioned previously. I was just starting to make my way down Hollywood when she intercepted me, started honking her horn in my face and asked if I brought her any candy because "you said you would!" I tried to answer but she accused me of lying again, pulled her mask away and started bawling. I eventually got her to calm down enough to show her that I had kept my promise and brought her candy. There was just one little problem: the candy was sealed, but I'd opened the bag...

She. Went. Ballistic.

"It's OPEN!!!" Oh she was PISSED. She started getting in my face and screaming about how I was trying to poison her, she would hear none of my protests, and I just panicked and took off running down Hollywood with her in hot pursuit, still screaming the whole way. Holy crap it was hilarious. Girl, if you read this, you deserve an Oscar for that performance. I was laughing about that for a good hour afterward.

Beasts-One of my biggest shoutouts goes to the huge husky beast on stilts. It was between 10 and 11 on Saturday and my group and I were on our to AC but we stopped because that beast was hiding behind a large post and bushes in Barney waiting for a bunch of girls singing the Barney theme. Right on cue, he jumped out and scared them BAD. Whoever you are, YOU MADE MY DAY. Also to the prisoner in the locker area for Rip Ride Rockit who went close to my face and freaked me out. I was happy after, thank you!

Shout-out to the Beasts in NY last night around 12:15 taking full advantage of the whole "nowhere is safe" thing.

I was walking with about 4 others headed to Ben & Jerry's then one beast attacked us from the front making 2 girls scream their heads off. Another beast in the cast noticed the screams and came up behind them, which made them sprint into Ben & Jerry's. Then, as soon as they were in B&J and thought they were safe a 3rd beast charged into the ice cream parlor.

They were absolutely terrified...it was absolutely hilarious.

Gothic 10:15 Cast- the last gargoyle in the house absolutely nailed these same 2 girls. They had just pushed aside the curtains and saw the exit, then you came out of nowhere and made them retreat back behind the curtain...literally making one of them fall to the ground (first time I've ever seen that happen). Then as they got back up you kept scaring them. Fantastic job!

Dead End- 1:10 Cast.

So many good scares. Everyone seems to have timed their effect to perfection. The guy on the left in the garden room came out of nowhere and scared the same group mentioned above to the literal ground. The mirror boo-hole guy in the bathroom got a different person in my group making her scream for the first time of the night. The boo-hole guy located near the floor towards the end of the house got a different guy to scream for the first time of his night.

9/29 Opening cast of Dead End. the 2nd Peppers ghost gave me the best scare i've ever gotten in any house....ever. I applaud thee.

Dead End is the only house that I can say I was truly scared in...solid scares throuought and a few of the best scares I've ever seen... my house of the year without a doubt.

These guys are getting better and better each night, I seriously love to see them when I arrive at the park, I think that might be one of the best arrivals to the event I've seen in years, being at the gate and seeing these guys is just so amazing.

My favorites are the stilt guys and the with two heads one in the front and one in the back that twirls and moves around, that is pretty awesome, I really like the way they walk and move their hands, they really act otherworldly, really really nice work in here,

Also the Iniquitus that follow the traditionals are also pretty amazing, I saw the one with the stilts tonight and I loved the way he opened his jaws and close them, and then would stare at people, that was just really awesome, reminded me of Ghost Rider actually, they all kinda do, Not because they have a skull face, (duh)

but the way they love their head, and like I Said the way they open their jaws sometimes, that reminds me of Ghost Rider, their movements,

I think they are my favorite costume I have seen at HHN, or top ten definitely, they are all great.

The Traditionals, there was a girl in a purple dress with the Fox mask, I love her energy, she hops around and scares people, that was really funny to see, I also love the guy with the Owl mask ( I think) he waves at people too, that was really cool, all of them are really cool, the girl with the monkey mask is really cool too, I think the Traditionals are also my favorite zone, they are really really awesome to see,

Cast A's "School's Out" Jock... um.. yea. No words can describe how amazingly awesome and fun he is. By far my favorite scareactor in "Alice Cooper". The interaction with him just gets even more amusing each time  I wont go into details, but yea.. during Cast A's last set, he totally made my night 10-times better lol

There's no Beasts on stilts, but the stiltwalker Iniquitus stay by the coffins and Animal Actors circle. I think that may have been a B cast Beast.....and he was probably that big for real.

Last night-warriors (I think cast A-715 in kidzone, 845 NY). My wife adores you guys. We try to catch all your sets, you have the highest energy level I've ever seen. I think they're starting to recognize us, one snuck up on us sitting on a bench in central park and screamed "again"?? My wife gave him hand hearts, which was returned. Whoever you are, you made her night. Spiky hared guy-gets us every single time, Always highly amusing, great interaction. I swear he's looking for us some nights. Also, we let one hide behind us on friday to scare a group of girls, he grumbled "I'll get you later", which he did last night, forcing us into central park to get ambushed :)

I don't know if she'd be here or not but I have to because it's another memorable scare as it involves a walker in TWD scene of the department store that is a female walker on the right side of the register. I don't recall her name but I remember her last year as we always go to the NY pin and go to Winter's Night once as she was a scareactor at the time being one of the nightingales so before her house opens she did this house with me and then she goes to her house and dawn her nurse outfit.

Now for the memorable scare it was Thursday around 7 (sorry didn't post it sooner) and along came her who focused her attention to me and only me she then approached me and hold my shoulder without loosing our gaze and then she went to the right and giving the look of "I know who you are" and left I was scared as all hell then i was thinking who else i knew who could be in that costume and made a list of 3-4 people and then after doing the "Trial of Triad" again I was back to the house and then the same walker grabbed my arm with both of her hands and I thought she was going to try and chomp me and ill be turning into a walker soon after then i whispered, more like a plea saying "Who are you?" and she brought me closer and said "Nightingales" and right there I got a sudden blast of realization and recall last year's events with the "Saw finale song when they reveal the twist of the movie" was playing in my head. Then i ran back to my group and I still can't forget that small gesture turn into something memorable.

Much appreciation and wish I could remember your name but I do suck in names.

From last night, 10/7:

LEGIONS:

BEASTS (7:17): I was making my way through the "JAWS Path" when the Beast horde showed up. The leader promptly split away from the group and charged, snarling, at me, getting me to scream pretty loud. Nice scare!

8:15: The mini horde came through Boulangerie and the Warrior charged up and scared me while I was eating dinner. lol! That was actually a treat... I had hoped if I ate inside for once, I might get to see scareactors come in. I really do love how much freedom they're allowed this year.

PRISONERS (around 8-8:30 in Central Park): <3 For a certain Prisoner who keeps name dropping me.

WARRIORS:

8:51: I wandered into Sting Alley, not expecting anything interesting to happen since I rarely saw scareactors in there. Cue a Warrior scaring the crap out of me right as I reached the end. The people behind me yelled "thanks for going first!" LOL

I sat in Hollywood and watched these guys work their last set of the night. I've gained a new appreciation for them- they are absolutely insane. I got a laugh out of the Warrior who got my attention and then made the "I'm watching you" gesture before returning to formation.

VAMPIRES (11:49): Sat near Central Park again and watched them do their thing. Staying still for too long around this horde is dangerous- they love food that doesn't run away. ;) Extra love goes out to the vamp in the white dress who likes to sit next to me and make "nomnomnom"-type noises, and the oh-so-creepy vamp in the blue cap and coat... hon, I might've smiled at you, but my heart was pounding when I saw you standing behind me. D:

HOUSES:

GOTHIC (6:15): Had my personal space majorly invaded by Mr. Gargoyle from my previous post. I pointed at him, but he shook his head and said something I didn't catch. *shrug* Thanks for the extra attention (and again when I came through on your cast later).

ALICE COOPER: Finale scareactors and whoever got me twice in the School's Out room. BTW, what happened to the jock on the right? Is he the one that's been scaring me? The scareactor is so quick that I can't tell, but I haven't seen the jock in that spot since Friday.

PENN AND TELLER (9:25): I saved the best for last- I had an amazing run through this house. Constant scares. Extra love goes out to all the Wedding Chapel scareactors. Noose guy, you never fail to creep me out.

ELVIS- holy crap dude, you were ALL OVER me. And thank you so much for the name shout-out! You have no idea how much that made my night :D

And with that said... I bid you all farewell for another year. Thank you so much scareactors. I had a blast!

To the chainsaw who was sitting in the bushes on top of the concrete barrier on the way out of Penn and Teller. You win, you win Halloween Horror Nights. I didn't think it was possible, but you broke the system. You didn't scare me, but holy fuck did you have a good spot.
