HHN 22 Wishful Thinking

Did you call me a he/she???? Lol!

I'm talking about the giant XX and Fear walking around with its minions and stuff.... that was cool and on a grand scale... XXI had Lady Luck in the alley but didn't touch XX's.

Haha. Sorry. From your username, I didn't know if you were male of female. Guess I should have looked closer. No offense intended :)

And yes, I believe the three-year arc was more of a Roddy thing that no longer applies.

I agree. Houses that are based off of movies are good and all but, Original concepts I think work better for HHN...

I Like Original houses like Nightingales, or Body Collectors, but the spoof houses dont do it for me, its like there isnt enough insanity

going on inside of them or something, I hated the bloodengutz house, it just seemed unorganized. I love b-movie horror thats just goofy.

I really want to see more creatures like Wolfman, Mummy, Dracula/Vampires, ETC... I feel like the zombie idea may be over used slightly, I mean

you can't do a HHN without Zombies That Would Just Be asking for trouble but, I think the whole zombie concept has become so big in the past couple

years that it is just getting old for me. Honestly I'd Really Love To See Something with Aliens, Kind of Fourth Kind-esque. Definitely a Robot Takeover would be cool,

like an obey the machine type scare zone, 1/2 robot half man creatures with saws for hands...lol I'd love to see a mummy house, and definitely a wolfman house. I

personally love vampires so anytime theres a vampire house count me in, but I wish there could be a medieval vampire house or gothic style kind of like vampyr when it was set in the castle.

the house with the blood rave was cool to but the whole Gothic industrial look just reminds me of hot topic lol.

The first time I heard of the 3 year arc, I'm pretty sure it was in 2008. Didn't Roddy say that in a video from that year?

Three year arc sounds like an excuse to reuse themes. I don't see this happening at HHN Orlando. We suffered through three years of Freddy at HHN Hollywood and the customers were revolting. (And they were unhappy, as well.) :P

An interesting read on Park Rumors about how a two-park event could take plac logistically.

One thing that stands out would be to move the tents. I think I have come to think of them as permanent as they have been there so long. But they are indeed movable. thank really is the idea afterall.

But Freddy's awesome :/ did they keep re-doing the house or something?

Three Freddy houses, three years in a row. The first two were more or less the same (there were some updates but I can't remember the difference) and the third was based on the reboot (good house, crap movie). I like the character but still, that much Freddy in such a short amount of time was too much IMO. Just seemed like a cheap way to reuse props and save $$$ and use Hollywood's favorite excuse: "Back by popular demand!".

Sorry for the detour. Back to Orlando... I'm up for two parks again if they can fill the dead space. I though the scrarezones connecting the parks in 04 (Field of Screams, Fright Yard) were very immersive and really added to the experience.

Did you go in '09? Because we had both that year.

I was there, it was awesome, but I'm sure you'll agree that They could've done a little better with some of the stuff, I was really impressed with how well the wolfman house was...I think if they took away their silly houses lol and I use the word silly as manly as possible haha and made a house that was like frankenstein meets the wolfman, where dracula, frankenstein, and wolfman are all there that'd be sick, if they brought back house of wax and made it a little brighter it'd make my day, I just remember not being able to see in that house

Yes it was very dark... But not as bad as the Hallow the first few runs. I had never walked behind set, tried to walkout a emergency exit, or got stuck in a corner until I went in the hallow the first, second, and third time.

I really like the dark humor houses such as LITC, ZAP, and HRBNG. They are usually one of my favorites for the year. Aparently it was for others too last year as HR seemed to have an hour wait almost everytime I tried to go. It's not everyone's cu of tea. But that is what I like about recent years. There seems to be something for everyone.

Don't get me wrong I pretty much like most of the houses each year.

I do think the zombies are a little over done, but is funny you mention Vampires since they are overdone as well, between Vampires and Zombies I think I would prefer zombies since it could be a little more scary,

Okay. Yeah, Fear Revealed was just a SZ. I wonder why they haven't done an Icon house for the last two years? The Hallow'd Past was sort of one, since Fear was orchestrating the whole thing. But no actual Fear house, and no Lady Luck casino-themed house last year seems weird, considering the past. Maybe it's part of the New Age of Darkness thing. smile.gif

Oh, I believe someone posted earlier in this thread that XX, XXI, and XXII are a trilogy of events? I hadn't heard that before. Does anyone know more about this, or know if that's a true statement?

I think No Icon house Might have been a blessing in Disguise,

I mean, I guess Bloody Mary just kinda Scarred me for life lol,

2011, every house was kind of amazing, every house had something amazing about it, I really don't know if a Casino house with Lady Luck would have been good, plus, I loved the theme of every house, I liked some houses more than others, but every house had a good theme

if they replaced Saws and Steam with a Lady Luck house, or replaced the Forsaken or something, that would have really sucked I think.

And I don't see how Fear could have had a house, I mean, what would it be about?

Just off the top of my head, it could have been an all icon house. Maybe showing how Fear was involved in the creation of the 5 icons. You'd step into the lantern or something and have flashback scenes. Basic have him subtle in all the scenes, and then the full reveal at the end. Maybe push it into a soundstage and combine it with Hallow'd Past (go through the warehouse and then into the lantern)? It would have to be fleshed out a bit more, but maybe something along that line?

EDIT: LOL Reading more about this event, Hallow'd Past apparently did have the large open lantern in it, which led to flashback scenes of prior HHN's. Man, I apparently do not remember this house well at all...

I know its to soon, but maybe for Bill and Ted they should have a drunk guy interrupt the show and a few security guards come out with mickey mouse hats and "pepper spray" him. Then have a girl in the audience stand up and say "Why the heck are you acting like that, there are kids here!". Then have a character ( i dont know, bill, ted, the drunk guy or the security guards) shout out "There shouldn't be any kids here, this is Halloween Horror Nights, not Disneyland!"...... Just saw the youtube video, I cracked up and had to think of HHN B&T :)

Can this year as far as streets wise be a little more controlled in a positive light. I can't say the number of times it felt like we were treated less than great. As far as the rules on taking pictures and sitting in a zone. If it's dark, people will use flash (Not me I would never use flash, but the GP will). If their are seats people will sit.

I did truly love the houses last year some more than others. I do believe if they could keep each house different and also keep the "big scene" in each of them. It would be awesome.

Just a idea, having a adult Horror Make up show would be great or at least a HHN Make Up Show. With filmed footage of A&D, back stage stuff, creations and some other jokes.

I love the idea of a Halloween Horror Nights specific Horror Make Up Show. It has always crossed my my in past years that it is the one show that should be open during the event. I'd much rather watch that than the awful Death Drums. The only reason I could come up with as to the reason they don't open this is because it's quite a small room and you wouldn't seat that many people in one sitting. Nothing stopping them doing a special version of the show on the Beetlejuice stage though right?

I don't know, Scarezone Wise, last year left me pretty pissed off, People will complain "they wanna be scared" and that " this is not a photo op" "this is a SCARE Zone" I Say to those people, wanna be scared, just go to a House! I really don't mean to sound mean at all, but I never understood how a couple of pictures will ruin anyone's night, is true the actors have a job to scare people but they are in the streets, if they don't want any pictures the scare zones should just be sealed off, have an entrance and an exit, like the houses, but outside, this whole screaming at people they cannot take pics, that was just, unprofessional from Uni. The tickets should say No Cameras Allowed or something , I'm just saying, last year was pretty sad

I believe you should be able to take pics but scareactors shouldn't be able to stop and pose. I saw this happen in a couple zones last year and it takes away from the overall experience of the other 1,000 people crammed into this zone that are missing out b/c someone wants to stop the actors from doing their jobs. This isn't the Simpsons or Mickey Mouse. And are you kidding me... if you want to be scared go to a house?!?! Its called a SCAREZONE... forgive me, maybe I don't quite understand... I thought a scarezone is meant to scare people. Maybe we should contact A&D and ask if they can set up Photo zone so you guys can line up and take pics. This is crazy...

I understand the actors not stopping for posing, but last year was the extreme opposite, Actors stopped scaring people Just to cover their faces and not let people take pictures, not only would they stop scaring and acting but they would not let people take pics. I just kinda wish this year they did something different and zones were better organized

I have always Agreed that actors should not pose with people, I agree with that, but when you have people trying to take pics of the actors Acting and then they see a camera and cover their face,

I don't know, it still seems disorganized, I really hope they do something about it, they should tell the actors to Never stop for a pose but that pictures of them acting is allowed, that would solve both problems, it would let people that want pictures to take them, and it would allow people that want to be scared to be scared.

but Uni goes to the extremes, 2010 and 2011 were complete extremes, I wonder what will it be like this year
