  1. Once again, you outdo yourself sir. Well done and cheers!
  2. ^^^ What Gambit said. He beat me to it ;-) They are very clear in the description.
  3. Excellent work you guys. You are incredibly talented. Well done!
  4. I think this is a very clever and unique take on the classic Universal Monsters with the possibility of also being very, very scary. Plus, it's always nice to see them back in the park. Can't wait to see who makes an appearance ;-) PS folks- Halloween 2 AND 3 were Universal films :-)
  5. Already looks like a new classic and everything the makes HHN Orlando so special: original content, fun storyline, amazing sets, unique creatures/monsters. Cannot wait! Count me in with everyone saying this is most anticipated :-)
  6. Can I still bitch and whine about Hollywood's event? ;-)
  7. So I have finally caught up on this thread! Whew!!! You people are monsters! Anyway, a thought I had while reading all the speculation (and it was quickly mentioned by someone else earlier and ignored) is what if this is a TV-themed year? Here's why I've been lead to that conclusion: The Walking Dead - this seems to be a foregone conclusion and it would obviously fit into TV. True Blood - was on the survey and also has been speculated Universal is in the midst of remaking The Munsters ("Mockingbird Lane") - could be this year's comedy house while providing some corporate synergy ala last year's The Thing. The clues we got from one of the SS houses: the vortex and "wrong side of the bed" immediately made me think of Poltergeist (when the brother is attacked by the clown and pulled under the bed). Plus, it's 30 years old this year. And how does Carol Anne communicate with the poltergeists? Through the TV. The popularity of HR Bloodengutz last year did not go unnoticed by A&D. He was TV host. The word "WATCH" scrawled across the teaser image. Self explanatory. I could be totally off base here and it doesn't explain some of the other speculation (Hunchback, 19th Century, Silent Hill) but I do think there might be something there. Thoughts?
  8. Well my comment was completely having to do with the theming... or total lack of it. The entire house was 2x4s and plastic sheets. It was like they were out of money and time and said "crap... what do we do for the last house? Let's say it's "Under Construction" so we only have to build the skeleton of it." No doubt there were a couple scares in there but the effort in the design was far below what we have come to expect from HHN.
  9. ^^^ Agreed! Like, like, like!!! People Under the Stairs: Under Construction was one of the cheapest, thrown together, half-assed houses I've ever seen at HHN. Truly embarrassing.
  10. Absolutely agree. I'd give the Caretaker a close second in marketing but at least he didn't disappoint in the park.
  11. Hmmmm, a hayride, where you get attacked a few times on the way. Then dropped off in a cornfield (ala Field of Screams) and have to make your way back through a house/Scarezone hybrid? I like this idea...
  12. It is awesome... if you like the same exact thing every single year ;-) It was great the first time, now it's as stale as can be. The novelty of walking on the backlot has long since worn off. However, a haunted hayride in Orlando could be quite promising. The question is... where?
  13. Three Freddy houses, three years in a row. The first two were more or less the same (there were some updates but I can't remember the difference) and the third was based on the reboot (good house, crap movie). I like the character but still, that much Freddy in such a short amount of time was too much IMO. Just seemed like a cheap way to reuse props and save $$$ and use Hollywood's favorite excuse: "Back by popular demand!". Sorry for the detour. Back to Orlando... I'm up for two parks again if they can fill the dead space. I though the scrarezones connecting the parks in 04 (Field of Screams, Fright Yard) were very immersive and really added to the experience.
  14. Haha. Sorry. From your username, I didn't know if you were male of female. Guess I should have looked closer. No offense intended And yes, I believe the three-year arc was more of a Roddy thing that no longer applies.
  15. I'm thinking that he/she is referring to the Fear Revealed SZ. I don't think we've had a proper arrival show since 2007 Carnival of Carnage. But even Fear Revealed was a better showcase for the icon than Lady Luck's SZ this year.
  16. Agreed. It's an excellent kick-off every night and goes a long way in expanding the icon's influence and personality.
  17. I believe they said the lagoon show would run during the summer and peak seasons, much like the old CineSpheres. But, agian, I would love to see the new show elements used for HHN.
  18. Personally I'd love to see them use the new technology/set-up for the lagoon show (Cinematic Spectacular or something?) to do a HHN themed show, sort of like what they did for Sweet 16 (but hopefully much improved). If nothing else, it would be great if they kept horror clips playing all night. It would go a long way in enhancing the mood while walking around the park.
  19. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! You put up 2011!!!! I don't know how I missed it!!! It's like Christmas... er, Halloween in January Thanks brother. You rock!
  20. Or let HR Bloodengutz be the host for the year...
  21. I've got to agree with those who say The Caretaker. He may not be my "favorite" icon (that would still be The Director) but I have always maintained that he's the scariest. That voice... his look... living autopsies... sheesh. Just listen to the audio from the Screamhouse queue video. That is some scary, creepy stuff! Jack has become like Freddy Krueger. Started out scary and now is just funny (almost a joke). People are more likely to hug him than run from him.
  22. Agreed. It wasn't the prettiest to look at but it was one of the scariest houses I've ever done because of the darkness and surprise factor. I will, however, disagree about the classic Universal Monsters. I can't get enough of them. But that's just my personal preference. And I like the idea of them having one mash-up house in celebration of Universal's 100th anniversary. And a Creature From The Black Lagoon house would be awesome!
  23. ^^^Agree 100%. Imagine walking through that seance scene. I'm all for original content but one or two movie-based houses are a nice change and Insidious would be fantastic!
  24. Ahhhhhh!!!! I wonderd if that was what you were referring to. 2000 was my first year and I remember being blown away by getting to walk through Kong. It was awesome! And so full of fog you couldn't see more than a couple feet in front of you. I was disappointed that they never did it again. Thanks for the link to the review! I'm reading it now but the first line about the ticket costing $20 is depressing... Incidentally, I believe I heard that "Nightmare Creatures II" was the name of a video game. Sorry... guess I should have read the rest of the replies first. Thanks Freak!
