HHN 22 Wishful Thinking

Thank you for the welcome.

That is something that would be debatable which is travel distances for IOA and US. Even though I have never been to HHN I do know since being at both parks, all of you are correct, it's a lot of walking. For me, it's fine, but I know for most it is not fun, it's like being in New York and times that by like 2 for how much walking you have to do (something like that).

So having the event at one park I am totally fine with, but for years lots have asked for IOA to return, and who knows, maybe they could say yes just for IOA but have limitations with WWOHP; maybe closing down that section during the event, though bad for business it's Jo's decision on her section of the park.

All in all, I just can't freaking wait for this!

Just another small thought on the two park. Last year, their twitter held some great tweet ups with prizes. That was already hard enough to get to inside just one park but stretch that along to two parks....I simply give up.

If it happens, I do welcome it with open arms just will be more ground to cover. So start walking those miles now.

Ive never been to a HHN at IOA but if they do the event over two parks isn't that going to mean more dead spaces not just more ground to cover? That is unless they are planning to double the size of the event and attractions. Somehow in this recession I don't see that happening no matter how much money they made out of the WWOHP area. If they did do two parks it would make multiple night attendance a must I think. Concentrating on one park a night maybe? I'd welcome it, just to see the contrast in how it works out but I'm not sure if it's practical. There was a lot of dead space at the back of the park in last years event and that was only a one park event. Add to that the fact they can't use the WWOHP area and the circular layout of IOA I'm just not sure.

A lot of the houses are usually back stage. In '05 and '04 you would go behind Suess and Poseidon's Fury and would end up at UO at Neutron and the Mummy, respectively. However 1-2 houses would be in your path one way one and 1-2 the other. So about half of the houses were in between the parks and only part of UO was used each year.

Ahhhh thanks JW I didn't realise they actually linked the parks. That clears that up for me a lot. Now I've seen the map I see it's a lot more practical than I thought. I actually hope it is two parks this year now.

So this isn't so much wishful thinking, but...thinking about the new Superstar Parade. I wonder if it will cause any issues for HHN. I'd imagine the route of the parade will be similar to most others, meaning having streets cluttered with props for SZ's could hinder the parades performance.

So hmmm...

Would they suspend the parade for HHN? Isn't October considered the "off-season" anyway? Of course, if they do two parks (or even entirely at IOA), it would most likely be a moot point. Between this and Amity being boarded up, there are a lot of new factors this year. I'm really curious to see what they end up doing.

Truthfully I'm not to sure what they will do with the parade. If they suspend it, it puts a lot of people out of work for the time being. I've also heard talks of no Macy's parade. With the superstar parade, it could save UNI a lot of money in shipping costumes, floats, balloons etc...

Regardless, they have a plan for HHN and I'm sure it'll be a good year.

Personally I'd love to see them use the new technology/set-up for the lagoon show (Cinematic Spectacular or something?) to do a HHN themed show, sort of like what they did for Sweet 16 (but hopefully much improved). If nothing else, it would be great if they kept horror clips playing all night. It would go a long way in enhancing the mood while walking around the park.

That makes me wonder about the new Lagoon show as well. Will that be a summer/peak days (and by Summer/Peak days, I mean Summer/New Year's) show or will it be year-round? Perhaps select nights year round? Like weekends only during the off season or something? Have they said anything about that, because that could affect it as well. Perhaps they could move HHN over to IOA exclusively (except soundstage houses), and then keep USF open late to try to draw day guests over there to see the show after spending all day at Harry Potter Land.

Just a thought.

My first year going was in '02 when it was only at IOA and I have been to every event since. I loved the event in '04 when it was in both parks. There were dead parts but the connection between parks weren't all that bad. They had Fright Yard in between Lost Continent and New York. It worked well then and I am sure it could be drastically improved now.

I believe they said the lagoon show would run during the summer and peak seasons, much like the old CineSpheres. But, agian, I would love to see the new show elements used for HHN.

Interesting article from ITM about 2 magicians that could possibly serve as our second show like Brushwood: http://www.insidethemagic.net/2012/02/penn-and-teller-in-talks-with-universal-orlando-could-join-halloween-horror-nights-2012-per-new-celebrity-survey/

i normally don't see any show besides B&T, so i'd like to have just to minimize the crowds in the lines for a little while.

about the lagoon show, its defenitely a possibility they could use it. they could have the water screens playing clips of houses like they did on the Rockit stage in 2010, or something related to the event, whether its an overall theme or an icon.

i really want the arrival show to come back. its a great way to start the evening and it gives you a look at what kind of person the icon is like.

Agreed. It's an excellent kick-off every night and goes a long way in expanding the icon's influence and personality.

Was there a kick-off show for Fear in HHN XX? I don't remember ever hearing/seeing one...

I'm thinking that he/she is referring to the Fear Revealed SZ. I don't think we've had a proper arrival show since 2007 Carnival of Carnage.

But even Fear Revealed was a better showcase for the icon than Lady Luck's SZ this year.

Did you call me a he/she???? Lol!

I'm talking about the giant XX and Fear walking around with its minions and stuff.... that was cool and on a grand scale... XXI had Lady Luck in the alley but didn't touch XX's.

that wasn't really an arrival show. it served the same purpose as Luck's failed SZ in SA. i think that since they already had the photo op and the minions out in front of Lucy, they should've just had the whole SZ on that street. its the entrance to the park and you cant miss it(unlike SA). the 2 giant XX's were awesome though.

Okay. Yeah, Fear Revealed was just a SZ. I wonder why they haven't done an Icon house for the last two years? The Hallow'd Past was sort of one, since Fear was orchestrating the whole thing. But no actual Fear house, and no Lady Luck casino-themed house last year seems weird, considering the past. Maybe it's part of the New Age of Darkness thing. :)

Oh, I believe someone posted earlier in this thread that XX, XXI, and XXII are a trilogy of events? I hadn't heard that before. Does anyone know more about this, or know if that's a true statement?
