homelessjogger Posted July 31, 2010 Share Posted July 31, 2010 what if it was opened on purpose by someone unknow to us? it would give LT a purpose this year I posted in the website update thread that the usage of polaroid photos could hint at LT investigating new cases. Whether LT is interactive for us or not is a separate conversation. So the photos might not hint at any icon (a Photographer) at all. Just crime scenes being investigated. Well, "Jack Schmidt"...which I just now realized is a variation on "Jack Shit" (I'm slow)...stated on his Facebook page that the lantern blowed up real good becaquse "...enough people have stared" at it. I really like that...the idea that it is US as fans who are releasing the icons from their slumbers. Perhaps OUR psychic energy...indeed, THIS VERY speculation...is powering their return. And maybe the new icon has come in to gather them all back up? Maybe, maybe not. Either way it's a cool idea. I like that thought. Turning us into the manifestation of the icons. We are at fault. And, as I suggested before, a new icon will come in and clean up the mess as the souls were supposed to be his/hers. Then next year they will wage a war of terror on us in anger. What if this so called "military outpost" was experimenting with teleportation and they opened up the Gates to Hell, releasing all kinds of demons,monsters, etc. This story line was used in a game called, "Doom." With the Doom movie, that released back in 2006, whose rights is owned by Universal themselves, it's possible they could use the same story line, while also changing some names around to make it fit the the theming. What if the theme to the entire event is that portals to Hell have opened up all over? This could tie in to the prison house making Hellgate now truly live up (or down?) to its name. This would also lend to numerous demonic characters throughout the park, Nightmare, Incubus etc. I would like to see a scene in the Greek house with Spartan warriors in Hades devouring the flesh of their enemies - thus they really did get to DINE IN HELL!!! after all. TheEyeOfHorus Posted July 31, 2010 Share Posted July 31, 2010 Does anybody think that the Grecian mythos house has anything to do with the "Mountain of Madness" film that was announced? there are soooo many things wrong with that statement i cant even begin..... but no... greek myths and c'thulu have little to do with one another... that said i wouldnt be surprised to see it pop up in the 2012 event... when it would make sense to promote the film Who was it who suggested that this year's icon would be a personification of Fear? That is seeming more likely to me now. I am also getting a "Welcome to Hell" vibe from some of this, but I doubt they'd do anything as obvious as actually having Satan as an icon...that WOULD rile the Puritans. (Though it'd be funny as all Hell.) And remember, HHN already HAS a devil...two of them, actually, if you count Knightmare. All this speculation about a new icon has me doubting that either Darkness or Knightmare would be the icon but I actually would be OK with Darkness as the head cheese, releasing all the icons from Hell for one last romp. I don't know, I don't read stories about C'thlulu, and I'm certainly not on H.P. Lovecrafts balls. Frankly, I've got better things to do with my time then to read the complete back story of anthropomorphic squid. Also, when you feel the need to use an ellipsis, just use a comma. Could there be any chance this was a house of the apocalypse? The symbol of Alpha and Omega are clearly shown on the logo with the double edged sword going right through the middle of both. It begins to reference the "Yin/Yang" with the black and white. So I began researching more into exactly what makes the Alpha and Omega so significant. Obviously, "Alpha/Omega" are strong symbols in religion. "I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end". In Its meaning is found in the fact that alpha (Α) and omega (Ω) are respectively the first and last letters of the Classical (Ionic) Greek alphabet. This would be similar to referring to someone in English as the "A and Z". I know that Universal would not mock religion or someone's religious belief but this could be a strong symbol for the apocalypse as this term is used far more frequently than only in the bible. So what is the significance of this? I researched more and found that this term is used frequently in video games, which are ironically, also games set in the apocalyptic period. Games like Fallout 3 and Assassins Creed 2 use the term "Alpha/Omega" throughout. The double edged sword also has meaning as its definition is "something that has or can have both favorable and unfavorable consequences" per Websters dictionary. Now before you chop my head off and feed it to the wolves, understand this is ONLY speculation and my personal opinion. I figured we needed to look more into the meaning of the symbol and not just state "oh its only a military house" because of the FAUX codenames of the scareactors cast in tent 2. Maybe a house the is the beginning of the afterworld (like Dr. Jimmy stated a portal into hell) and our double edged sword is the decision or lack there of that led those characters there. Yes, I know there was already a Doomsday house but that doesn't mean we couldn't see another apocalyptic style house again in the future! I have to imagine if this is a scare zone they will be old school Wolfman and Frankenstein (also at last year in old school form). Last year those two, updated, monsters' houses were pretty intense.
