Halloween

I'm a huge fan of the original film, and this house did every second of it justice. The entire experience starts off strong and never lets up.

During my run through on Saturday, they added a Michael Myers outside the house. Once you thought it was over, he popped out behind a fence and gave you one last jump.

Oh, he's been there since employee preview.

This is a topic of much contemplation for me. I'm not trying to sound like a prick, but, she CHOSE to go to the event and she has to live with the consequences. To me, if there's a chance you're going to have that happen, it's unfair to everyone involved: the worker now has (to try) to help, your whole group has to deal with your panic attack and try to calm you down after leaving, the people behind you are now going to get held up as your situation is handled, the scare actor who did this to you probably feels QUITE guilty, and most of all, it's unfair to yourself! to put yourself through a massive panic attack isn't ok, your body does not need that stress, so to put yourself through that just so you can go with your friends is a terrible idea. This is coming from somebody who often has panic attacks and, from time to time, they are quite extreme (physical scares don't cause them, it's more of a mental thing for me.) BUT, there IS one group of people who should feel horrible for her having this panic attack and that group of people is her (neglecting) friend(s) that talked her into going to hhn, because I guarantee it wasn't her idea in the first place.

All I'm saying is, if I were you, I wouldn't feel bad at all (though I understand why you do.) I would simply have been very judgmental of the people she chose as friends? I for one can say that if my friends brought somewhere, knowing that it was likely I'd have panic, they wouldn't be my friends much longer. Sorry for the rant, but this is a common thing that happens at hhn and it aggravates me.

The girl appeared to be with her boyfriend who nervously smiled during the incident. Seemed like he wasn't sure whether to laugh about it or apologize profusely.

When I laughed about it at first, my girlfriend pointed out how she def did not look OK and maybe it was severe. Indeed it was because we saw her afterwards outside the house trying to pull herself together.

This is my new favorite house of all-time. I got to go through it 4 times and couldn't have been more pleased with how well they pulled it off. The 1st time I went through it, I was literally applauding throughout all the various scenes. It is almost sad in a way, because now there will never be another house that will top how much I enjoyed this one. I felt like a little kid in there.

Disclaimer: Halloween is one of my favorite horror movies of all-time, in case you hadn't guessed.

This house works perfectly in a tent. The sets inside look like soundstage sets, if not better. The close quarters make it really feel like Michael is in your face the entire time. Plus the facade being outside with the que allows you to see the projections on the windows and hear the soundtrack blaring while you wait. Truly makes it an amazing all around experience authentic to the movie.

I really don't get the arguments that Halloween should still have been in a soundstage. Anyone who's been through it can vouch the house is phenomenal, and it's one of the only houses this year that I've noticed is always "on." The location shouldn't matter, and I'm sure we've all noticed at some point that great houses can go in tents, and sometimes not so great houses can go in soundstages.

I think the fact that it's in a tent is what helped it, honestly. Everything was kept small, tight, and claustrophobic almost, which is what I was hoping for. It just works for a tent, no need to make something larger when it doesn't need to be. Super polished house.

I had a panic attack at last year's event. Mine occur at random and without triggers. Since I drove all the way from NJ to be there, I was more annoyed that it was ruining the one thing I had been looking forward to all year. It came out of nowhere and lasted about an hour. I was hot and getting sweaty and could not deal with being stuck in between people at B&T, sonI sat outside alone while my group watched the show. It was sad :( Security wouldn't let me take in my anxiety medicine and they made me rent a locker to put it in. Eventually it went away, but it sucked, so I feel for anyone who is in these types of situations and their friends that are losing out since they are tending to them.

Anyway, I am lucky enough to be returning for my 3rd year in a row and cannot wait for this house. Halloween is my favorite movie of all time (all genres included). I spent a lot of time in film school studying horror movies and Halloween is always at the top of my list. I cannot wait to see that facade right in front of my eyes. It looks fantastic. I'm also excited for Roanoke because I have a weird obsession with the mystery surrounding the place and pilgrim costumes creep me out. I'll be there next Thursday and am counting down the days!!

You're gonna have a great time. I hope this time you don't have a panic attack. This year is great and hope you have a good time. I've been twice and Halloween is a must do in my book. :P

The tents have had some of the best houses these past few years, so I never judge a house by location anymore.

Controlled substance. They pulled me aside during the bag check and I had to meet with the nurses and security. It was in a pharmacy bottle with my name on it, but they were probably worried about me selling it. I was allowed to take one pill with me, but I had nowhere to store it. I had to be escorted by security to the lockers where I had to spend $10 to rent one while security watched. The whole ordeal took over 30 minutes. I never had an issue there before, but I will be prepared this time.

Maybe bring a little baggie with a few pills and keep them in your pocket. No metal no problem xD

but they tell you to empty your pockets and sometimes they check them...lol

it sucks for someone to be so scared that they get a panic attack, but sometimes I wish I could get that scared. i have never felt that much fear in this event

You wouldn't want to know how I smuggled in the chicken feet lol.

But after the problem with the buttons and the humiliating and degrading way security treated me I take no chances. Still if you have zero metal and you absolutely don't set it off they don't typically mess with you.

What happened with the buttons?

What happened with the buttons?

I used to hand out buttons. Security harrassed me on year saying I could use the pin part as a weapon.

When I questioned why they were alllowing ALL the people in with lanyards and hats with pins and buttons on them and why they SELL pins at the event... They became hostile and told me I had to throw away the buttons or stow them in a locker (The whole time telling me they were "trying to be nice").

When I told them I would not, the escorted my wife and I out of the park... I stuffed them in my steel toed shoes and, get this, had my wife put one on her lanyard (FULL of buttons) and went in a different line. No one said anything to her and they didn't even ask me if they were steel toed boots.

Good god. I would have raised hell if I were you. I commend you for being so calm.
