  1. I got incredibly stoned before going in 2013. First house we hit was AWiL and it was insane. Not only was I disoriented, but felt anxious due to the mood and atmosphere of that house. I accidentally ran into the people in front of us due to the scares (apologies to those fans). I found it to be a lot of fun and a much different experience than going through the houses sober/tipsy. Im also considering bringing a pen with me this year to the event. I noticed lot of people had those at Hollywood’s event when I attended in 2016, and guests would hit pens in my room as I was scare acting at the event in Orlando last year - it was dark with lots of fog. Does anyone have have any advice/tips for bringing and using a pen at HHN?
  2. Aren't our originals typically last? If Blumhouse was held up, the originals would be too.
  3. Couldn't agree more about Barcelona. Going back to our topic... Still surprised Blumhouse hasn't been announced yet. I'm starting to think there's a reason for the delay. Perhaps something changed and we have more than Sinister, Purge, and Insidious in the house.
  4. You're going to have a blast! I saw him in Barcelona last year and it was amazing. Highly recommend catching his live show.
  5. Hopefully this means more small stage shows, a la Bayou of Blood, in scare zones. I'd like to see more cohesion within the shows and story lines in the future. Especially shows that add to the atmosphere or theme.
  6. Also hope it's not MiB. When I was there the weekend of my orientation I was SO CLOSE to maxing out. Also went in T2 for the first time in a while and it was looking rough. Game plan for rehearsal weekends: Dueling Dragons & MiB as much as possible.
  7. I'm actually all for how marketing handled this; makes a stronger argument for handing this stuff back over to creative.
  8. I finally get to disagree with you on something!! It Follows has a great original premise, excellent atmosphere and suspense, and the soundtrack is badass. The only part of the film I dislike is the pool scene, which wasn't the original ending.
  9. A scare actor got you in Faceoff? Or did they get you in line for a Krusty burger in 2012?
  10. Just realized Blumhouse produced Whiplash. Very good movie - not horror, but a solid film. They also did The Tooth Fairy starring The Rock. Might be in the house, since that movie is horrible. *Whiplash drum rim shot*
  11. Which is why we loved the websites/marketing so much. Even if you didn't go, you got to experience the event in a sense. The HHN 18 website scared the hell out of me.
  12. Believe me, I know. And for the record, I'm not advocating either way. I'm just telling it like it is. All I can contribute to the debate is my own personal experience, which is this: I became obsessed with this event more than a decade before ever attending because of the intricate story telling and elaborate website design Universal used to create for HHN. Without it, I would have never gone - let alone be working the event this year.
  13. Marketing doesn't care about us, man. Majority of event goers will find out about the event in August when everything is announced. It's been the same story for years now: marketing sucks, and creative should take over the website and hype up the reveal. They've heard us complain, and nothing has changed.
  14. As a fan of the Simpsons, I've always wanted the Treehouse of Horror overlay. Or, just anything involving Treehouse of Horror in that section of the park.
  15. I'm probably in the minority on this one, but I enjoyed AoV last year more than Jack's show during 25. I don't see how AoV can top itself, so the excitement will probably diminish each year it returns.
  16. 5′ 10” to 6′ 2” slender build males with ‘facial features’ (?) able to appear 30-39. Sounds like a casting call for Jack Torrances.
  17. Agreed. Actor hits trigger, pops out, mouths "HERE'S JOHNNY" to Nicholson's dialogue from the film.
  18. After watching the film, I have to wonder what the ending will be. The best possible ending IMO is the frozen hedge maze. Have a few Jacks chasing you around, until you reach frozen Jack - he still manages to lunge out at you one last time. However, the movie ends with the psychological twist of the July 4th, 1921 photo. The scene is iconic and takes the story to a whole new level. Can't imagine creative wanting to leave it out.
  19. Sorry to hear you weren't picked. Based on last year, are they going to have auditions every two weeks for a while? I have a performance July 11th, so I can't sign up for that day. It's been a bummer trying to get an audition since two weeks ago I was in NYC and logged on too late. Then I had to schedule off work the 27th in case I did get a spot - only to get nothing. I managed to get in the stand by line before it closed, so we'll see.
  20. Question for scareactors: is it always nearly impossible to get an audition spot? Universal said auditions open online for June 27th today at 4 PM. I refresh and refresh only to find nothing - UNTIL 4:31 a message appears saying audition is at capacity. So frustrating.
  21. Dammit! Just missed my first shot to sign up for auditions. Didnt realize how quick time slots would fill out. Fingers crossed I get a spot for the next round.
  22. Silence of the Lambs would be awesome! But, I'm hoping the clue refers to when I mentioned The Thing ;).
  23. Bummer! I didn't go in 2007 and would love for them to do a proper The Thing house based on the movie.
  24. Are we also getting The Thing in Orlando? Would love to see this maze based on John Carptenter's film.
