  1. I did the tour this past Sunday and had David once again. He truly is an asset to these tours, and he's probably what made the tour worth it even without photos. Much like others have reported, we did (in order) TCM, Tomb facade and entry room, Halloween, Krampus, lunch break, Exorcist, Ghost Town, TWD facade, AHS. The tour was super insightful, and the Easter eggs always make it worth it. My favorites are the Amityville Horror house inside the snowglobe in Krampus, and the AHS inspired Devils Night invite list in Ghost Town. If you're in the fence, I say still do it, request David. You'll have an awesome time and learn so much about the event.
  2. It is absolutely mind boggling that it's been a week and they've still not resolved the issue. I wonder if they've handled any partial refunds, for if you still would like to do the tour, but it's unfair for those who aren't allowed take photos, while we paid the same price as those who were able to. I'm really crossing my fingers that they're able to get this resolved by this weekend. Really breaks my heart to not be able to photograph the tour this year.
  3. Orlando has been pretty strict about no cameras at all in the mazes.
  4. Definitely best show, but I'm inclined to say best thing overall.
  5. My two cents on how the houses rank after the first weekend: 1. Halloween 2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3. American Horror Story 4. Krampus 5. Ghost Town 6. Tomb of the Ancients 7. The Exorcist 8. The Walking Dead 9. Lunatics Playground Wasn't crazy about Bill and Ted this year, but Academy of Villains is probably my favorite thing at HHN, not only this year, but from the last few years as well. Can't wait for Thursday!
  6. Yes, Asylum is inside the Shrek building, entirely indoors, no chance of outside light getting in. Edit: To expand on that as well, the facade of the maze is a good ways into the building, so even if you were to go through it when it was still light out, I can't see any way that it could hit even the facade.
  7. If I had to guess, I'd say: TWD Insidious FvJ The Purge 25: Monsters & Mayhem Body Collectors My rationale for the other 3 not being chosen are: Run: Disaster queue house is rarely a part of the tours since it's all outdoors and it will still be fairly warm AWIL: Was a part of the tour two years ago, no logical sense to include it again. Alice: In the Shrek building, which is in use during the day, also 3D houses don't make for good lights on tours.
  8. I was pulling for Maskerade for street of the year. Yes it was very minimally themed, but the cast made the absolute best of it. I saw some of my favorite scares there, which is amazing considering they had practically nowhere to hide and not a lot of fog either. It was definitely my favorite "hang back and watch" scarezone this year.
  9. I picked up my ticket (they switched to actual LT tickets with a return time on them for the last night) in front of Rental Services around 8:40 On Saturday night.
  10. They kind of streamlined the ticketing process last night, started at 8:40, they were giving 9:20 and 9:50, not sure if there were more times than that. The experience inside the LT Headquarters was pretty amazing. It felt very intimate and was highly interactive, which helped up the creepy factor. The technology they were using was pretty impressive and I can't wait to see what they do with this next year.
  11. I ended up going back for the last night, here are my real totals. 15 Nights Halloween - 20 AVP - 19 FDTD - 15 TWD - 11 Dollhouse - 11 Giggles -10 Roanoke - 10 Dracula - 9 Bill and Ted - 4 Legendary Truth - 1
  12. Final Counts 14 Nights Halloween - 20 AVP - 18 Giggles - 9 Dollhouse - 11 Roanoke - 10 FDTD - 14 TWD - 10 Dracula - 9 Bill and Ted - 3
  13. 9 Nights Halloween - 12 AVP - 12 FDTD - 10 Dollhouse 9 Giggles - 7 Roanoke - 7 TWD - 7 Dracula - 6 Bill and Ted - 2
  14. I gotta show some appreciation for Candleman in Maskerade. I've seen him several times before, and I've always found him entertaining but last night took the cake. I was walking through Maskerade, and I saw him walk by. I casually say "Hey look its Candleman!" and he turns right around, and says "THATS ME!" as excited as possible. It was fantastic. Bravo, Candleman.
  15. 8 Nights as of 10/12 Halloween - 11 AVP - 11 Giggles - 6 Dollhouse - 8 Roanoke - 6 FDTD - 9 TWD - 6 Dracula - 5 Bill and Ted - 2
  16. I really don't get the arguments that Halloween should still have been in a soundstage. Anyone who's been through it can vouch the house is phenomenal, and it's one of the only houses this year that I've noticed is always "on." The location shouldn't matter, and I'm sure we've all noticed at some point that great houses can go in tents, and sometimes not so great houses can go in soundstages.
  17. 5 Nights so far. Halloween - 6 AVP - 6 Giggles - 3 Dollhouse - 4 Roanoke - 3 FDTD - 7 TWD - 4 Dracula - 4 Bill and Ted - 2 RHPS - 0
  18. Only gone 2 nights so far Halloween - 4 AVP - 2 Giggles - 2 Dollhouse - 2 Roanoke - 2 FDTD - 2 TWD - 2 Dracula - 1 Bill and Ted - 1 RHPS - 0
  19. They are not automatic, so yes you pushing them activates it.
  20. Quick thoughts about tonight: -Halloween is hands down house of the year. Tons of scares, the detail is incredible. They completely nailed this house. Use of projection mapping on the facade is brilliant. -AvP is gorgeous, the Alien and Predator scares are great, others are okay. Puppets look amazing. -Giggles was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of fun scares, and does not skimp on the gore. -Dollhouse is genuinely creepy in so many ways, great use of smells in the house as well. -Dusk til Dawn is great when its "on" but lags quite a bit at points. The facade scareactor is a perfect intro to the house. -Walking Dead is very well put together, but zombie-fatigue makes this house lose steam. There are quite a few similarities between this house and last years TWD Hollywood house. -Roanoke was a mild disappointment. Great sets, the maze feels huge, but the scares just weren't there. Hopefully it gets better throughout its run. -Didn't get a chance to do Dracula tonight, hoping to get that one done Friday night.
  21. I'm not sure they could pull that off, since the area where the queue normally would go is used during normal hours for parking. Queues can work there because they can be taken down easily but as far as building out for the house, I don't see it working, unfortunately.
