HHN XXI Speculation II

Recommended Posts

Even a lot of these sound like Alice. People forget all the characters that were in the books (i.e. Humpty Dumpty) and only focus on the characters from the Disney movie. Maybe the Dorfs could be the Tweedles since they are normal thought of as short and fat, but HHN has made them tall and skinny in the past. Plus the whole Queen of Hearts and deck of cards would work into the theme well. I was gunna say if the watch role wasnt fake it could have been the white rabbit lol. I just hope if they use anything Alice that they go in a completely different direction than Asylum or Scary Tales.

I think a very edgy modern day or blade runner type take on fairy tales would be interesting.

Out of all the code names thus far, the one that has stuck out the most for me has been "doctor frankenstein clone". What do you all suppose that means?

Also, I think a hall of dead presidents would be AMAZING. I always look forward to the cheese house so I think that would be a hell of alot better than the disappointment that was Zombiegeddon (no disrespect to anyone who liked/participated in that house.)

Also, when I read all the different colors, I couldn't help but think of Mardi Gras. Yes, I'm well aware that we had that last year but it just came to mind is all.

either way, this year is looking to be pretty interesting :D

In all actuality, it probably just means that the scareactor is wearing Doctor Frankenstein's costume, so he would be a "clone" of Doctor Frankenstein.

All this speculation on FATE and CHANCE reminds of a line from the Illusionist.

Life and death. Space and time. Fate and chance. These are the forces of the universe. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a man who has unlocked these mysteries. From the furthest corners of the world where the dark arts still hold sway he returns to us to demonstrate how nature’s laws may be bent. I give you Eisenheim.

Merely an observation don't take it as any more than that.

Since everybody else wants video game houses (Bioshock, Bioshock, Bioshock and....oh yeah, Bioshock) this sounds like a potential Silent Hill house.

They ARE making Silent Hill 3D, but not sure which production company is doing it. Just checked, it's Sony.

Funny...Silent Hill came to my mind when I read about the casting of many nurses.

Don't write it off, though. I believe it could definitely happen.

The Saw house was brought to HHN thanks to Jeff Schiefelbein, who created the Saw house in Brea, CA a couple of years ago. He had the licensing agreement with Lion's Gate to build haunts using the brand, and got Universal on board. Why do I mention Jeff? Because the next year his Brea house was in fact based on Silent Hill - and it was absolutely amazing. So, I can infer that Jeff also had a licensing agreement with the people who own Silent Hill.

So it's important to know that a Silent Hill house can be a great house, even for people like me who didn't play the game or see the movie. The house was so good that I rented the movie the next day. He managed to recreate just about every key scene, including a 12-foot Great Knife that stabs and slashes wildly into a tiny room in which you are trapped.

So in the spirit of SPECULATING I'm going to offer my two cents. I agree Lula. The names evoke a fairy tale sensibility. Also, I personally feel our three people in heaven clue points to a story teller. So I feel these roles may be fairy tale related and might be a new twisted take on fairy tales different from the Scary Tales franchise.

Disaster Overflow Queue (B67)

Woodteeth = Tooth Fairy

Dwarf = This is an incorrect role title. The correct spelling is Dorf. This can mean many things. Dorf is a common word for midget but also means village in german. Considering the individuals cast for Dorf are above 6' tall I highly doubt it has to do with a short person (unless thats the point) so I think it might be Villager.

Grass= Gnome

Top Hat= Mad Hatter

Love= Queen of Hearts

Watch= This role is fake.

Egg= Humpty Dumpy

I somehow doubt that they would go back to Alice gain, rather if they decide to twist a childhood favorite, one that was already twisted already then thinking about these names...

dwarfs or midgets, eggs - especially those laid by geese, green grass where you wouldn't expect it, brown teeth from eating something brown or very sugary, and a man wearing a top hat makes me think that we may find a ticket to a place of Pure Imagination.

theres always a possibility *cough*

My friend was cast a scareactor this year and she said she was cast because she was short. Apparently they need for short people was in great demand this year. She also heard the word "funhouse" being thrown around a lot. Take it as you will but being a member of the HNN community I feel it's my obligation to share this info with you. ;)

Hm. I wonder what kind of house that could relate to. I just reread the other code names for that house...I wonder who Sarah might be....so many questions xD lol

Two Sarahs come to mind, one more likely then the other.

Since I love Labyrinth, the lead female role was a Sarah, but....

With the other roles cast in this particular house, the most likely reference could be Sarah Winchester. The Winchester Mystery house would be a great inspiration for a house. It was the inspiration for Stephen King's Rose Red (only mentioned to show how the house can inspire), and it was one of the locked case files from the 08's LT.

I just got back into town and read through the last week of speculation and did not see this so I thought I would mention it.

The codename Seagull in a possible casino-themed house makes me think of one thing, a Flapper Girl.

For those of you who don't know what a Flapper is, enlighten yourself:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flapper

Flappers fit the suggested time period perfectly and the codename Seagull would indeed be a clever description of a flapper (with all the wing flapping and what not).

Also, Flappers were mostly seen in speakeasy's and other underground drinking/gambling establishments during the prohibition.

Someone mentioned that there were males cast as Seagulls too though so that is very intriguing. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Especially with the other code names in Sprung Tent 2, Seagull really sounds like a pun on Siegel, specifically Bugsy Siegel.

Thanks to the money that had been made in Cuba, modern Vegas was essentially built on the mob's dime. Lansky, not wanting to be the one blamed if the Vegas plan didn't pan out, enlisted Bugsy Siegel. Siegel's job was to drum up cash and enthusiasm among gangsters over the glitzy venture. Of course, Vegas boomed and Lansky took all the credit while Siegel got five bullets to the head for skimming on casino funds.

From a history of Vegas at www.yourvegasvision.com

Bug-Eye also sounds a bit like Bugsy, and he was shot five times in the head including through the eyes. I will not post the photo here because the last time I posted a pic of a actual dead person on an HHN forum I got chewed out for it.

But I will post a link. Be warned it's graphic, an actual police photo of the final fate of Bugsy Siegel: http://www.yourvegasvision.com/images/mob04a.jpg

But Jimmy, why would we then have multiple Seagulls of both genders? Same thing with Seagull possibly meaning Flappers. While we could have multiple Flappers, I can't imagine Universal actually utilizing male flappers (although that could lead to a different sort of horror, :lol: ).

I'm really starting to think, especially as more roles are revealed for that house, that "Blackjack Dealer" is a red herring. It could, almost too easily, apply to a casino, but it could just as easily apply to some other possible themes, specifically pirates. Something doesn't feel right about the "Blackjack Dealer" role, because it's so oddly specific in comparison to every other role we are getting this year or got last year.

I have felt this way as well. It seems too obvious. Who knows?

Oh I did not know men and women were in those roles.. then probably not. Unless it is heavy makeup...still seems unlikely though. The blackjack dealer does stick out like a sore thumb. Otherwise it feels like a dirty cop interrogation... zombie cops... Like a DE feel with police instead or just at least occuring in a police station.

You know... I'm really starting to think that Soundstage 23B is just a hospital. Evidently, there are multiple Nurses and with the only other character being a Victim, it's possible that that's "all it is."

Strangely, Universal has never done a straight, "Hospital" before though. They've done mental hospitals (Insanity and the Psychoscarepy houses), and multiple "hospital rooms" but never an all-out hospital. They could give it a specific sort of character, of course (Vampires or Ghosts would be likely), but as a location it's actually a new one.
