HHN XXI Speculation II

Recommended Posts

Another REMOTE possibility involving the code-name "seagull", there were a number of Spanish horror films in the 1970s about the Knights Templar returned as ghoulish horseback riding zombies. Unlike other Living Dead types these Knights were blind and were known as the Blind Dead.

For some odd reason one of these films was given the unusual title La Noche de las Gaviotas, literally "The Night of the Seagulls".

I do NOT mean to suggest by any means a house based on these films! But rather it may be, that characters somehow similar to these Blind Dead Knights have been given this code-name by somebody in A&D who enjoyed the films.

(then again, if this does turn out to be a casino house, well haven't you ever heard of Bugsy Siegal??? hmmmm Bugsy, Bug-Eye, hmmmmmm)

well that fits into the qualification for speaking spanish, i understand that there is a house that we so far are speculating is a type of spanish insquisiton type house but maybe they want to mix in spanish folklore like they did last year in Hollywood with La Lolrona, and perhaps the house will do something pertaining to the overall theme of the movie

Just to correct its spelling La Llorona ( Mexican in origin )

Also I'm not sure on an Inquisition it maybe too far fetched for the GP, from what I gather they asked if anyone spoke fluent spanish.

Fransisco's nick name is Pancho.

But I feel that the codes much like last year are mixed. Some true and are not.

For me I am simplifying the event and going with what makes sense.

This may have been talked about a while ago, but it really sticks out to me every time I see "Be Careful What You Wager, Because Nobody Beats The House". It really makes me think that they'll be doing an "Alone" style house, which will be an extra ticket hence the be careful what you wager part, I dunno, it just seems like "Nobody Beats The House" could also have connotations not just for gambling, but also for an "Alone" house...

You got it. :) Plus I can see it relating more with the Latin community in Orlando if they went with Chupacabra being that most Latin Americans here are from Puerto Rico and Cuba.

But basically its everyone's bogeyman ( Candyman, Bloody Mary, El Brujo ( Meaning Ghost for us Cubans ), etc. )

From what i can see is that HHN is trying to branch out a bit and work with Folklore and mythology and really try to make a story with what they create and date it back thousands of year...oike Fear last year the whole ritual of summoning him..how they dated the ritual of summoning fear and the icons symbolizing chaos, vengence, legend, death, to egyptian times and when i was a kid my grandmother used to tell em of a monster called La Pica a monster that preys on mishbehaving children

No hablo español. A excepción de esa oración y ésta que lo explican.

wow look at you! lol well done mi amigo!

Like how I threw in there the first written history on ventiuna or Ventiuno ( 21 ) via Cervantes the gambler? IDK I don't feel like there is an Icon this year. Just what happens when you try to cheat death.

[so i think that the spanish house will be a little bit like Catacombs which I highly enjoyed. The casino house, thats what im confused on. I know thats kinda the "Main Theme" but im just wondering how are they going to tie in a Casino and scariness. Im in no way, shape or form doubting USO's ability, im just wondering how it would tie in to being related to scariness. Another thing im wanting is a house that has alot of S.I.F and Boo doors. USO did it last year and i really want them to do it again, and one more thing, How will they make 8 houses related to this years theme? It may not be as hard as i think it is but its just a little thought.

Or at least starting lay down the foundation for the " New Era " or cycle. Of course we all love the Icons but like I said last year, XX felt like a funeral or closure to the cycle by introducing Fear. And members of A&D did express that they are looking for the new Jacks the new Story Tellers etc. So if that is the case I don't see any of the old Icons coming this year.

With that said its anyone's guess at this point so we will have to wait for the website update to be sure.

I have a feeling that they want to brign fear from where it hits the most home...stories that parents tell children to make them behave good...they want to make the stories and houses more believeable and maybe thats what the new era is about bring out the darnkness in history..the icons i think will be back but like 3 or 4 years from now

So i take it that the names that the people are putting are either clues to the diffrent houses...or a specific house that will feature these people....or clues to the roles that people are playing

I think you could be right... People are saying alot of names and I think it may be leading to different houses/roles of the people. It seems as if the people who auditioned and made cast know, but don't want to tell us so they are giving us clues leading up to the house/houses

Based on names this is what I'm getting out of it:

Parade Building: Could have something to do with Alcatraz, an old prison in San Francisco. Judging by the suggested time period of the music of the site. This could be likely.

Sprung 1 could be a paranormal/LT house. Just based on the floating head of course. I hope not because with the same layout of past years. It would become somewhat predictable and paranormal things seems to be unpredictable.

Sprung 2 looks to be the theme house, this based on "Seagull", and "Blackjack dealer". However I do see the main house to be in a Tent, the main house the past few years has been in either Jaws or the Parade Building.

In SS22 I could see a Universal Monster house. "Widow" could be the Bride of Frankenstein, "Frankenstein Clone" could very likely be the Frankenstein monster because the Doctor made the monster in his own image. And "Decay" could bring us to the Mummy since Mummy's happen to be very old. I think it could be a Universal Monster house only because of the paintings shown at one of the conventions

I would need another name of a character before getting a good idea for SS23A but "impaled" will most likely be a victim scare.

Also, on another note. With one less potential scarezone and the possiblity of a parade, that would lead me to believe that there could be a 9th house, being that the area would be vacated and that they have room in their budget for the 9th house with of course one less scarezone.

Its the Heaven part that has me a little confused does that mean that the parts that those people are playing have something to do with the ceiling/and or sky?? i mean apparently there is going to be a house with a ceiling this year

I've heard from my source that we will NOT be getting an extreme house this year. Even if I doubted his credibility (which I most certainly do not), he has a point: if we were getting an upcharge house, the site would already have information on it for people ordering tickets.

And I know that some people are pretty gung ho about Chance being the icon. Trust me, don't worry about it.

So with a prisoner and a Spanish name in the parade building... In conjunction with asking applicants if they will speak Spanish... Francisco Pizarro came to mind. Destroyer of the Incan Empire.

but I'm sure that is a stretch. However, definite Spanish associations.

It made me think of the Spanish Inquisition.

Horror, indeed.

Spanish Inquisition sounds more likely given the Prisoner codename. Knott's Berry Farm did a house a long time ago with the same theme of a sort of Spanish castle with people being tortured by said individuals. And for more information on said Inquisition, check out this link via Wikipedia.

Coincidentally, the majority of the group's actions were held in Seville, and I swear someone on here mentioned Seville as part of speculation...

Yes! I remember that, too! Wasn't Mike Aiello touring medieval churches earlier this year, too?

An Inquisition house would be amazing and terrifying. Aside from all of the Monty Python references, I think it would be highly successful.
