ST could be a technological game-changer if they could effectively use projection mapping within a house, transforming a scene to the upside-down in the blink of an eye. We know that Universal is going to use indoor projection mapping in their Kung Fu Panda attraction in Hollywood. This would be a great opportunity to try it out. It just makes sense on so many levels.

I want to physically see the depth of the "stuff" (does it have a technical name in the show?) growing on the arches. Plus it would love cool even during the day and considering its not even dark when the event starts most guests wouldn't notice it much. The idea inside the house is cool, but again the physical look of it would be much better. Also, in season 1 I don't recall ever instantly switching to the Upside Down. They normally have to pass through something to enter it via the Lab or even the tree in the forest. With this house strictly following the story of season 1, a room that switches between the real world and the Upside Down instantly doesn't fit. hunnylvr
Let me say again... I want PHANTASM! If we are going to get horror nostalgic, how is this not on the list? I cannot even comment on the idea that IT may be scrapped. I, like @mystiquephreeq, made the huge mistake of getting my hopes up and actually believing the rumors. If there is a giant flushing sound emanating from the A&D offices, I don't want to know. I will also stay in denial until the full reveal if I have to. 4

Going to be spectacular!! I jokingly said Bait. It’s an Australian b-movie where a tsunami hits trapping people in a supermarket, along with a giant man eating shark. Good excuse to bring back Bruce! Murdy is also currently playing a game on Twitter (yep I’m pretty bored tonight). His clues seem to point to the year 1984, and doing a quick search the stand out horror films from that year include NoES, Gremlins, Friday the 13th: the final chapter, and a film called C.H.U.D. Might be something. Might be nothing. Might be Hollywood exclusive also. But could the IP loss people are referring to be related to the conjuring, and it’s being confused with IT? killswitch22
Any thoughts of where stranger things is going to be located? I'm thinking the soundstage where The Shining was last year if it isn't the mega house. I believe that this queue can fit the most people without using a soundstage as one. As a thought for the mega house, is there any chance that NoES could be a titans or terror kind of deal? Put Chucky, Freddy and Jason in one house? It fits the 80's idea. Lastly in regards to the Ifrits latest. It definitely points to The Fog which would be a beautiful house if done correctly. Relationships with Carpenter are solid, it would make sense.
Oysterhead00
Apologies if this was already posted...have 5 min to spare and just saw this story and had Conjuring visions floating through my mind.... Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of Netflix supernatural series sensation “Stranger Things,” are reportedly being sued for allegedly stealing the idea. THR reports that Charlie Kessler is suing the Duffer brothers for breach of implied contract, claiming he pitched them his concept for a sci-fi story set near an abandoned military base during a party at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival. Kessler adds the series is based on his short film “Montauk” and a feature film script titled “The Montauk Project” about the New York State town which in these works is home to “various urban legends, and paranormal and conspiracy theories.” Kessler’s attorney argues the pitch at a party created “an implied-in-fact contract pursuant to well-established industry norms” – in other words a verbal contract. Kessler is seeking an injunction ordering the Duffers to stop using his concepts and to destroy all materials based on those concepts, as well as restitution, lost profits and punitive damages. An attorney for the Duffer Brothers has responded to the lawsuit, telling Deadline that the claim is “completely meritless”. The attorney goes on to say: “He [Kessler] had no connection to the creation or development of ‘Stranger Things’. The Duffer Brothers have neither seen Mr. Kessler’s short film nor discussed any project with him. This is just an attempt to profit from other people’s creativity and hard work.” The suit comes as renegotiations are underway with the show’s young cast members whom will each reportedly score pay raises to around twelve times that of their previous salaries. But in 2018 what IP could match or better the current popularity of IT (other than stranger things obviously)? i said before I’d be surprised if they did both stranger things and IT in the same year, but I’m now coming round to the idea. thecovetousghost
I'm not 100% on the connection with "seaside town", but it was confirmed on Twitter that the hints were linked by the year 1984... which was when the first A Nightmare on Elm Street came out. There's a really cool part in the book where he hunts the crew one by one and then the empty ship crashes into a town. A cool original could be a maze that starts with a vampire (or vampires) on a boat and then halfway though you get to a town and vampires just ravenously assault everyone. I personally like the use of vampires because compared to zombies or otherwise, they can come at you much more aggressively. I'd be cool with another vampire house so soon, just as long as they're not vampire clowns
QueenoftheBunnies
Hi yes hello I know it's been a minute since I posted in here. I'm joining the denial club but honestly, I think having IT along with Stranger Things would be great for dispersing the crowd. Now that Bill and Ted is gone (RIP), they'll need something to that will take that amount of people or more off the streets. Having both ST and IT would definitely do that. 3

The hint of "Terror in the Aisles" was that it was released in 1984. The only two hints seem to be Red herrings. Since there were no songs released by Johnny Cash in 1984 and the only film released in 1984 that has someone who was a Creative force that passed away within in the past 5 years was NOES with Wes Craven but that doesn't reveal a Codename plus Murdy denyed NOES. The Band Van Halen was formed in 1972 which Daniel Murdy went to school 1976 - 1980 which gives them time. Plus this is the only band that had time to go around and perform, they formed in Pasadena California and only one band formed in Socal that had a Best Selling Album in 1984 but they formed in 1980. They released a Best Selling Album in 1984 called 1984. The Codename is 1984 which itself is supposed to reveal the theme of the maze. Well the Book "1984"s main theme is Anti Government or how the Government is a serious danger to society. Well The Thing's Paranoia it deals with is a allegory for the Cold War. Or it's the that the main theme of the book is Paranoia with the Government and that the main theme of The Thing is Paranoia. Either way 1984 = The Thing.

I'm going to have to disagree on your interpretation of 1984 (both how it links to the clues, and the novels themes). The entire theme of 1984 is a warning against totalitarianism. It's about government manipulation. Newspeak, reality control. Controlling the free thought of the populace. This doesn't fit The Thing. It does fit IT. Derry has its own reality control. The Derry populace ignores IT's existence in exchange for quiet success. Derry prospers because of IT. I can, of course, link 1984 (the year) itself to IT. Adrian Mellon is the first victim of the new cycle (adult cycle). His death occurs in 1984. His death was inspired by a real life incident that occurred in Bangor on July 7, 1984. The death of Charles Howard. There is a theme regarding ostracization, outcasts, disregard for those who are different, "Losers" in general to IT. Yes, I refuse to give up, but I, also, completely disagree with your interpretation of the themes from 1984 (the novel).

And again I seriously don't believe that 1984 is IT. Usually Codenames are not what every one says at first or what people are trying to force it to be. Not saying that you are forcing it you aren't but I just don't buy IT being 1984. And for the whole the Thing is a allegory for the Cold war. https://www.google.com/amp/s/ifuckinglovemovies.wordpress.com/2015/09/17/fear-cold-war-paranoia-and-aliens-in-john-carpenters-the-thing/amp/#ampshare=https://ifuckinglovemovies.wordpress.com/2015/09/17/fear-cold-war-paranoia-and-aliens-in-john-carpenters-the-thing/ This connection with The Thing seriously sounds like something Murdy would come up with. The Codename reveals of the theme of the Maze. The theme of 1984 is not connected with 2017 IT movie as far as I am aware. I just don't think IT is 1984.
