  1. I’m really interested in seeing how Seeds of Extinction turns out because that just doesn’t seem like that scary of a concept.
  2. @TimothyJ I strongly recommend doing Stay and Scream. That’s what I’ve been doing for the past 4 years and I’ve been able to hit every house and at least 1 show before the end of the night. Depending on the layout and where you decide to go for Stay and Scream, it’s possible to do 4 houses in the first hour. Once the lines start to get long is a good time to go hang out in the scarezones or go see a show. Do the 2 nights without express.
  3. Ehhhh can we not have a Chucky scarezone that would be great thanks. Not a whole lot scares me anymore but I’m still traumatized by Chucky from childhood. I avoided him at all costs during 25 Carnival Graveyard sounds like it has the potential to be pretty cool. I think the originals are going to have a lot of Easter eggs in them due to using props from HHN past.
  4. The Cult of the Beast Baby section is 100% going to use props from Dollhouse.
  5. I want to pretend/predict that snack is IT. All Penny wanted was a snack.
  6. Icon? Please let this be an icon year! HHNUnofficial posted a blurry photo on Facebook that I interpreted to be the Director.
  7. The friendly neighborhood old grump. Complete with "back in the old days" and "keep out the riff raff"
  8. Wait so question: is the 80's theme a "confirmed" rumor or did the whole forum just take an idea and run with it really far? While I agree an 80's theme would be awesome, I don't remember really seeing anything about it other than "STRANGER THINGS WHAT IF EVERYTHING WAS 80'S" and everyone else going "YEAH 80'S".
  9. I mean, there were also pole dancing demons last year. And a Bill and Ted show was never complete without dancers in underwear. He's not being disrespectful, it really is HHN tradition to have half dressed scareactors, both men and women, running around.
  10. As soon as Stranger Things was announced, I knew HHN would be getting a significantly younger crowd this year. Put ST in the very back, and fill the park with terrifying scarezones. Filter out the weak children. And then pray for all the Event Guides that will have to constantly tell parents "this is a horror event, the monsters aren't going to ignore little Jayden just because he's a kid" I really really hope HHN isn't crawling with children this year, except for the few kids that actually ARE horror fans and are just baby versions of all of us.
  11. Now the question is "pretty funny" as in "shit you guys got it" or "pretty funny" as in "lol that's never going to happen". But thank you guys for now adding Lost Boys to my list of "must watch" movies on Netflix. That movie was before my time but I love a good 80's movie. I'll be watching it ASAP.
  12. Hi yes hello I know it's been a minute since I posted in here. I'm joining the denial club but honestly, I think having IT along with Stranger Things would be great for dispersing the crowd. Now that Bill and Ted is gone (RIP), they'll need something to that will take that amount of people or more off the streets. Having both ST and IT would definitely do that.
  13. While it will probably never happen, I would love to see a year where all of the houses are previous "House of the Year" winners.
  14. Halloween at 24. Me and my friends were the second set of people to go in and it scared the shit out of me.
  15. Here's a collection of my thoughts for 28: - I think we'll definitely get a maze based on a "classic" horror movie or another white whale. I remember hearing in a podcast this season that there was another white whale they're trying to catch. I can't think of any movies that could possibly fall under that though. - As much as I would LOVE to see an IT house, I don't think we're going to get that at least until 29. I think they're going to wait until both movies are out. OR (wishful thinking) they could do a part 1 house for 28 and then a part 2 house for 30. - I think Purge might be our new Walking Dead. There's supposed to be another one coming out next year so I think we'll probably get another zone. - I really hope they don't turn AHS Cult into a house. It's not strong enough to be it's own house and there isn't a whole lot of content in it that would translate well. It's just clowns and white people. No thanks. - AoV will be back and I don't know why, but I have this gut feeling they're going to replace Bill & Ted with Rocky Horror over at Animal Actors. I hope I'm wrong about that though. - I would love to see houses based off of Evil Roots and HR Bloodengutz. - They need an icon again. This whole "the event itself is the icon" was lazy AF. Give Cindy her year! - Please no more pig masks. Retire them, burn them, whatever just please no more. - I really hope the success of all the original content this year will inspire them to keep the ratio at 4 originals and 5 IPs and really put their hearts into the original content. Also, can anyone remind me what all we're losing within the next year as far as space? I know the parade building and Fear Factor but what else was there?
  16. I heard the Name Game being played in the queue right before you walk into the house. I had my own little dance party.
  17. When I did Stay and Scream at Finnegans 2 weeks ago, we got early access to Shining and when we got out of Shining we were able to go through AHS (park was not open yet) and then we were able to go through Dead Waters. I think normally you can also do Fallen but we went they were having some technical difficulties and Fallen didn't open until around 7.
  18. Hi friends! I'm writing this as I sit in the car driving back from a great weekend at Horror Nights. We went Friday the 6th and Sunday the 8th. Friday we did Stay & Scream, no express pass, and completed 7 of the houses and both shows. Sunday we stood in the monsoon rainstorm waiting to get in. We did 6 of the houses and saw Bill & Ted again. Overall I thought this was a pretty solid year. Just a heads up, this review contains spoilers. The Shining: This was one of the houses I would've been okay with skipping. The movie has never really done a whole lot for me and the house didn't either. The only part I thought was great was the Gold Room. That scare was timed perfectly for me as I was in the center of the room when the lights went out so both scareactors lunged directly towards me. The sets were well done, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. 6/10 AHS: I was incredibly excited for this one and while I did think it was good, I think last year's was better. But I also think that mostly has to do with the fact that seasons 1, 4, and 5 have scarier monsters than 2, 3, and 6. I loved the entrance into Asylum and all of the sets. And that mirror scare in the Asylum section is one of the best ones I've ever seen. I was disappointed in the Roanoke section because I thought that was the scariest season they've done and it seemed like HHN left out some of the best parts. Still a good house though. 8/10 Dead Waters: This house is BEAUTIFUL. I would've loved to have done a behind the scenes tour of this one. The swamp monster scares were great and I loved the Voodoo dolls. My only criticism is I thought they could've done more with the Voodoo Queen. I was really hoping to see her sacrifice scene in this house. 9/10 Saw: Meh. This was my least favorite house. It felt very repetitive. I liked the Billy doll riding his bike down towards you and the bathroom scene at the end but that was about it. 6/10 The Fallen: The first time I went through this house I wasn't super impressed but I found out the second go around that it was because of bad timing. The second time I got all the scares, including 2 of the bungee scares at the end. We got the bungee scare where the scareactor flies towards you (which caused me to scream "YESSSS" and then apologize for the inappropriate response) and the planking scare but the only reason we got that one is because I saw him drop down on the group in front of us and then return upright and I looked up at him and said "do it again!" so he did. The facade for that house was great too. 7/10 Blumhouse: Also known as "Insidious house with a few characters that got lost". I really wish there was more Sinister in this house, or the entire house was Sinister. It honestly felt like they started making an Insidious house and ran out of ideas halfway through so they threw Sinister and Purge in there. This entire house felt like an afterthought. Both times I went through this house it was well timed though. 7/10 Scarecrow: My favorite house of the year. I loved everything about this house and had good timing both runs. The real corn stalks was an amazing touch. The crows pooping on you was a gross touch, but I thought it was appropriate for the house. These scareactors were tall (or at least taller than me) and really got in my face. 10/10 Hive: I expected a bit more from this one. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be but it was still a good house. Thankfully, it was already dark out before I went in so I was able to see everything pretty well. I liked the random buzzing noises throughout the house. 7/10 Ash vs. Evil Dead: I've never seen the show so I didn't know what to expect/wasn't expecting a whole lot but I really enjoyed it. This house was the most fun to walk through. I got a few good scares from it as well as a few laughs. It was an overall good time and made me want to watch the show. 8/10 AoV: I was so sad that it was still a modified version, but even then it was still great. I can't wait to see the full version online. Bill & Ted: it was alright. Last year was my first year ever seeing it so it didn't have the nostalgia for me, but it was still fun. I feel like Bill & Ted deserved a better send off. The ending seemed very underwhelming. It was my boyfriend's first time seeing it and he really enjoyed it. However, as he was telling me how much he liked it, a guy in front of us turned around and kept telling him how shitty the show was and how it was the worst one they've ever done. I explained to the guy that it was the first one he had ever seen and the dude got really condescending and continued to shit all over it. Not cool, and if that was one of you guys, shame on you. Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy. The condescending fanboy act is really old and unnecessary. Altars of Horror: This felt like an after thought zone. There wasn't even any good set pieces. My friend did get a really great photo of me and Bughuul though. Purge: I didn't think I would enjoy this scarezone as much as I did. I think the amount of scareactors helped. Invasion: Yeah this one did nothing for me. I'm not a big sci-fi fan so maybe that's why but it just seemed out of place. Festival of the Deadliest: the costumes were great and I'm a fan of the rattle scares so this one was ok. I didn't understand why there were stripper poles all over the zone but whatever. Chainsaw Clowns: this scarezone has been done to death, but the scareactors were a lot of fun. We took a break in the area and just people watched and it was very entertaining. Some of our favorite scareactor interactions came from the clowns. Trick R Treat: I could honestly live in this scarezone. It was SO BEAITIFUL. It was so classic Halloween and perfect. I'm actually glad this was a scarezone and not a house because it allowed me to really look at everything. I will forever be obsessed with those pumpkin lanterns.
  19. Speak for yourself, man. I am neither of those but still love jello shots. It's part of the event. I'm definitely not mad at the lower number of drink stations. I had drinks spilled on me a couple times in the scarezones. Does anyone know if they're still selling alcohol in the lines for the mazes?
  20. Same same same. Jell-O shots are a staple of HHN. I don't care if there's practically no alcohol in them, I want my blood bag full of jello.
  21. But if they're freaked out about carnage, why go to a Halloween event known for it's horror and gore?? I mean, the event has had a Carnival of CARNAGE. If you can't stand the blood, get out of the butcher shop.
  22. Does anyone happen to know the showtimes for Bill & Ted this year? I'm trying to make a gameplan.
  23. Whenever I picture this house, I'm reminded of Roanoke from 2014. I wonder how many of the props from that house will be reused for this one.
  24. This is also my most anticipated house. I'm sad I can't do a Behind the Screams tour this year because I'm sure this one will be visually stunning.
