Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood - Event Discussion

Finally can we stop with the "If we get the TWD again we are not gonna see AHS" crap? this year should be enough to prove that was BS because we got 2 TV shows this year. AMC has no reason to hate on FX, Fox distributes The Walking Dead overseas for pete's sake.

Murdy was pretty clear about it at the time, but that doesn't mean it will be the case next year. As we have seen when it was decided that AVP wasn't ever going to happen in Hollywood, things change.

Just heard a newer HHN radio spot that wasn't all about the Walking Dead. *MINDBLOWN*

American Werewolf in London was the property it focused on, explaining walking through the moors and coming face to face with the werewolf, then AVP was mentioned. At the end, all they said about TWD was "experience the all new Walking Dead maze." I was so shocked. Lol

Maybe because those are the two top rated attractions this year for which it will be remembered for, but some description of it to GP will entice them better. Where as TWD, just mentioning the name at the end is like sealing the deal if they weren't already convinced.

Yeah I figured the ratings played a role in their decision to make the new spot but it's just nice to not hear a whole radio advertisement about TWD. I'm really curious to see how much of that IP we'll see next year.

Just went last night. Man, they REALLY beefed up security. I saw one group get escorted out of the park and one of them got really obnoxious towards a scare actor. He probably thought, "Screw it, I'm being kicked out anyway." But yeah, every several feet I could see a guard standing around.

I also got to see the extra scare zone on the trek to the backlot. It's pretty cool! I also liked how they made the final scene in AVP more intimidating by having nothing but strobe lights in there. It makes the Queen far more intimidating.

Something else worth mentioning: The Terror Tram briefly peaked at a thirty minute wait. The rest of the night, it was only ten minutes.I think that says a lot of what people think of it.

Lots of improvements last night, even if they were small ones. Freak mentioned a few already.

Lines weren't too bad either (well, if you did the game plan).

I stand by my claim as this being the best year.

I'll write a short, mini-trip review later!

Wait, you were there last night too? And I never saw you!? Awwwww man!

In terms of content, I totally agree. I think this is our best year.

As for the gameplan, I hooked up with someone who scored the G.A. pass. I did everything like three times. It was amazing. We didn't see Terror Tram though.

For Terror Tram? Man.

Did you hear me yell TwoTonTick in the chest burst scene?

Yeah, we didn't decide to go until maybe like Tuesday.

As for TWD, the maze (albeit it too short) and the TT are really good, in my opinion. I think everyone is just feeling IP-fatigue. The people I've gone with on both trips LOVED them both. I think people like the TT even more because its like their own TWD experience instead of the character's journey. They get to see what it's like to be a survivor being attacked by walkers in a setting that's not on the show.

To me at least it's not IP fatigue, the maze just feels lackluster. Orlandos version was my second favorite maze of the year at their event. It was definitely better last night compared to preview night, but it was the maze I had the least fun/scares in. :/

I hope they make Amy go through AWIL. That'd be great to watch. I'd be disappointed if it was TWD again, Face Off, Clowns, or FDTD.

AVP or AWIL would be goddamn amazing. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was TWD, or hell, Dracula, just to get some extra promotion. Dracula's cast looked incredibly high energy though so I wouldn't mind as much, but still. God I hope Andy from last year is with her. His reactions were better than hers.

Which maze do you guys think cost more to make, AVP or AWIL? I'm assuming AVP, but I don't know how much of a difference in cost the Alien and werewolf puppets are.

Since they must've spent a good amount on AVP, you guys think it'll be the repeating maze next year?
