Halloween Horror Nights 2014 Wishful Thinking & Pre Speculation

American Werewolf in London. That's all I have to say. it changes everything.
If anything AWiL solidifies my statementof striking the iron when it's hot. Murdy canned AWiL for a more popular property because it isn't as known as the TWD, Silent Hill, TCM, Insidious, etc. Orlando used AWiL because they have more places for mazes so allowing more diversity with lesser know properties. AWiL will probably never come to HHNH unless we get more mazes (7+) which most likely won't happen with all the massive construction. I know Murdy had already made a layout for AWiL but lets be serious whats he going to do super popular franchises (Insidious, TWD, CitW) or the property 90% of the GP doesn't know(AWiL)? Back to TrT, Murdy is going to wait to do it when the sequel comes out. Why would he do TrT the year before instead the year the sequel is released allowing scenes from 2 movies? That would be like if the Insidious maze was done in 2012.

He didn't can AWiL this year if that's what you have convinced yourself to to believe. In 2012 he lost Soundstage 28 and in 2013 there simply wasn't enough money on the table to put something that landis would approve. (That's the same reason we would never see an original Evil Dead house at HHN because Sam and Bruce are very protective of it)

I hope after this success of this year, the execs are convinced to give HHN more money to put in higher quality content for the mazes.

Yea. Hopefully the whole static thing was just a rough bump in the road. But the dip in quality this year was... Immense. To say the least.

Well it was sorta High though Grind. Texas Chainsaw 3D already had a trailer so there was that but it wasn't the right time to do it though IMO.

It wasn't at all. The new film looked terrible(and was expected to do terribly which is why they released it so early in the year) which is why marketing tried to distance the maze from it by constantly letting you know the attraction was based on only the original.

But it actually ended up being so successful that the studio signed a deal to have 6 more films made. It's sad to think crappy horror movies that are a well known IP can continue to churn out movies every single year.

The film passed what their projected sales were(which were low[january release instead of summer]) and only made 39 million thanks to the higher cost of 3D tickets. That deal for 7 more films was before TC3D even had begun filming.

please tell me this is a joke.

would Hemlock Grove count since it's only on Netflix? too although the theme was creepy nothing really screamed scary or maze material.

as far as video games I can only say Resident Evil, Dead Space, Bioshock and in a perfect world Silent Hill done better but I know thats the least likely case.

personall as much of a Resident Evil fanboy I am Im gonna have to say Bioshock would be the most wanted on my list, at this point with RE not as great as expected and the danger of getting the movies involved this is why I'd rather Rapture be built over Raccoon City

He did escort Eli Roth one night so who knows. I agree it's not the best maze material but it was pretty big.

Transform the metro sets into raccoon city. Now that would be amazing.

Does the GP really care what Orlando did a year ago that much that a relatively obscure movie gets raised to the "convince USH to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars" level of awareness? I doubt it. If awareness was that easy to raise Murdy could raise awareness by announcing that there's a maze being made at HHNH.
