Scareactor Appreciation

Michele

Recommended Posts

Owl boy was awesome last night...does anyone know if he ever comes on here? I especially loved his "scary dance" in Central Park.

Also, whoever was on the right side in the first room of Gothic (first cast) - HOW DO YOU GET ME EVERY TIME? I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE! You're too good at scaring me haha.

ETA: Also, whoever was the male bully under the bleachers in Alice Cooper at 9pm, you got me good! Awesome work.

I went to HHN on Saturday, Oct. 20. I had such a great time just because of the scare actors. I didn't really have a chance to make it to ALL of the houses but;

Silent Hill:

A++++++ to all of the Scare Actors, especially the Bogeyman and the Nurses. I went into the house at about 7:30-8:00-ish. I don't know what cast that is but they did absolutely wonderful. I especially loved the fact that they included Sybil, I believe, in the beginning shooting at the first monster. Like I said, A+.

Dead End:

I was a baby in this house... I don't do too well in enclosed spaces.. Anyway, with my face buried deep into my friend's back, I was still scared so I think that's enough to assume the scare actors were excellent! This was at the beginning of the night, so maybe 9:00-ish? I didn't really keep up with the times.

Streets:

The streets were my favorite part of the entire thing, honestly. Since it was my first time going to HHN, I was honestly impressed by everyone and how into character they were.

Iniquitus-

These guys could seriously entertain me all day. They freaked my friend out whenever they passed by and pointed at her. At one point, we were taking a picture with one of the Iniquitus on stilts with the wings, and once we were done taking the picture he slammed his staff-thing down on the ground (nearly hitting my foot btw) and made my friend scream and hide behind me. Job well done, buddy! At the end of the night, when the Iniquitus were checking out the Warriors by NY, I believe, I tried to catch up to the Warriors as they were done for the night so I could take a picture of their formation. The Iniquitus on stilts there slammed his staff down too, and wouldn't let me leave! I sassed him, of course, and managed to get my picture. These guys were seriously the best and the costumes were AH-MAZE-ING.

Traditionals:

I didn't really get scared by the traditionals but I saw plenty of people get scared instead. When I was in line for Silent Hill, the pumpkin heads were walking around and I saw one hide in the trees behind a concession stand. He got a bunch of scares that way and it was absolutely hilarious to see grown men scream and run away from him. When I got out of Silent Hill, the same pumpkin head was sitting beside a guest behind that same concession stand, terrorizing them.

The Trick or Treaters were great! Especially the fox girl (with blond pigtails) and fox boy. Fox girl would constantly ask me for candy and at one time, I told her I didn't have any. I said I would bring some next year or something and she absolutely FREAKED. She stared at me for about a minute, before raising her mask and screaming no in my face. She skipped away after that and she didn't bother me anymore. Chicken boy freaked out a lot of people with his weirdness, let me tell you. My friend was scared sh*tless because of him and tiger boy. They were all amazing scare actors that never broke character!

Vampires:

I had the second best experience with these guys and gals.

One of them had a crush on my friend, constantly following her around and breathing down her neck.

And then we had Nosferatu, who came up to us when we were relaxing at an outdoor "restaurant" by Men in Black. He was great and joked with me while still staying in character. His voice changes were just the best and made us all laugh. Props to you, man.

Warriors:

These boys were literally the best part of the night for me. And it's not just because they were shirtless ;) . It was about 1:00 in the morning and me and my friend were sitting on a bench. We were exhausted from walking so much and just decided to chill out for a while. All of a sudden, the Warriors come marching in. We get up and watch the Iniquitus look over them before sending them to scatter. As they went everywhere, we sat at our bench again.

One was a birthday boy, who sorta-kinda-not really “protected” me and my friend. We were sitting on a bench when I randomly told him Happy Birthday and he just got behind the bench and leaned over us for like 5 minutes. Everyone else was like “ERMAHGERD YOU GOTTA BUFF DUDE BEHIND YOU WATCH OUT” and we were just like “It’s cool, he’s our buddy”. And in turn, this caused the another warrior to sneak up on these people and scare the crap out of them. Then when they had to leave (since the park was closing), he got all up close and personal with me. I told him Happy Birthday again with a big smile on my face and he winked at me.

Another one was being some sort of animal and running around on all fours (very well, I might add). He definitely pulled off the creepy part of that off and I'm super glad he didn't sprint to us, or I would've freaked.

69194_538064159553732_373524255_n.jpg

The redhead in the front of this picture was hiding behind one of the prop graves, grabbing onto the gate and scaring the sh*t out of people. He was the sweetest thing too. I waved hello and he waved back, I waved again and he waved back. While he was hiding behind the grave, he screamed/shouted in this guy's face (and this guy was twice his size) and this guy just flailed around and screamed like a little girl. A lot of people were calling this Warrior a bunch of profanities and I think he almost got punched a few times. But he was a good sport about it and remained in character the entire time. When he had to leave(since the park was closing), I screamed out “No, don’t leave me!” and he gave me this like sympathetic look and waved goodbye. He’s my fave, I love him. I think we bonded, haha.

Last, but not least was the "pole dancer" of all these guys. There were about 3 girls sitting on the sidewalk, and he grabbed onto the pole and swung himself around to scare them. He crouched down behind one who didn’t notice and growled, like super loud, into her ear. Needless to say, those ladies didn’t come back to that sidewalk. When he was walking away to go scare some others, I yelled out to him “YOU HAVE SEXY/GREAT HAIR” and he looked back and winked at me. I swooned. He came back to the pole and just crouched there. I think it was mostly because he was exhausted but, it looked creepy nonetheless.

All in all, all of the scare actors did a fantastic job!

I would be remiss if I did not also mention whoever the last Walker in the barn was last night about midnight. He was a very big guy and where the hell he was hiding before his awesome scare I have no clue whatsoever... it was like he just materialized out of thin air. very, very good!

Fox girls=awesome. The one interacting with me and my girlfriend in Central Park with the chicken scareactor was classic. Seeing you two fight over the candy, and then over my stuffed animal (Chicken mask dude: "You wanna know what my favorite candy is? STUFFED ANIMAL!) was awesome. Also, my girlfriend kissing at the fox girl (like, kissing the air, lol), thus making her shout "STRANGER DANGER! STRANGER DANGER!" was great. Oh, and snatching the lollipop right out of my girlfriend's purse was awesome. As they asked for my stuffed animal, I remember telling them I'd let them have it for a minute...Chicken mask says "No, I want him for forever!" That creeped me out, and made me laugh.

The beast that was hiding in Central Park last night and scared the life out of my girlfriend...I applaud you. I had no idea that scareactors were allowed in Central Park, I'm very happy that they are now...the area had been way underused in the past. Anyhow, I actually pointed this beast out, not noticing he was a beast...just a "guy in a robe with a staff." I was thinking he may've been related to the task that night or something...we walk away, and then all of a sudden he's right there, making my girlfriend scream bloody murder. And she hasn't screamed like that since like last year. It was fantastic. If you're reading this, I'm the guy that shouted "YES!" after the scare. Truly epic.

Shoutout to the other Fox Girl who was in front of Mel's for taking more candy from us, and for distracting me from my old friend the Cheerleader from 2010 (who is now a prisoner)! I had no idea it was her, and once she made her presence known, she ran off...and I was all "OMG, it's her!" She must've been hovering for a while, but I had no clue due to the constant badgering for candy lol.

Shoutout to the zombie that pet my stuffed cat in The Walking Dead. Was that ArmyofRobots? It was in the dressing room. I don't recognize a single zombie in the house, and I've been through both casts multiple times.

I feel like I've missed some people, and I probably have. Just take it out on me when I'm back in the park! Lol. Hopefully I can hit every last FFP+ day for the rest of the event. This year is tons of fun, as long as we're in the right places.

First of all, BIG well done to everyone in the event, you've all done a great job!

Special mentions to the vampires during opening hours on October 21st, you were all brilliant for my camera (I was the annoying kid in the gaga tshirt).

Very special mention to the modern looking vampire with the sassy walk who popped up in most of my recordings! I'm going to go into super stalker mode to find you on social networking sites.

Thirdly, a great scareactor pointed out my Gaga tshirt and made a monster claw with his hand, thought that was so awesome!

I had a ghost stuffed animal from one of the games last night that got some attention from a beast in Hollywood around midnight/1AM last night. It also got attention from the gargoyle on the left in the first room in Gothic around 1am.

Gave me a smile both times, thanks! :)

Cast A of Alice Cooper

Got to give a shout out to one of our newest forum members Brandon (Frogger).... the 2nd time i hit the first set, the Spiderman style wall climb was pretty epic. That would've made a great pic...

Gotta give a shoutout to Chris (ZKeeper) for giving me the staredown and motioning that I was a "dead boy walking" when we hit P&T

And lastly Nancy (HHNDollfie) when we hit Dead End tonight...

Beasts-black cloak with green shawl running and jumping around like a rabid squirrel,he also keeps sniffing my wife, which is wierd but hilarious. Our

I think that was Turk. Was it a smaller Beast in a flesh-tone mask with big ears? He's absolutely insane, and actually uses his short staff (he always uses the same one and has actually worn the grip down so it fits his hand) as a sort of "third leg" to pole vault around while hooting and howling.

A huge shoutout to Pyramid Head last night, just after 6:00. My dad and I were looking for him in his usual walkway, and he wasn't there. He was standing motionless in the corner, completely hidden in a shadow. As we rounded the corner, he put a hand in each of our faces. We're generally bullet proof--love the event, but very hard to scare. We both jumped back two feet! An epic scare!

Also had a warrior get me a couple of weeks ago. I cut through by the bathrooms at Animal Actors. Nobody was around. As I got past the bathroom, a warrior came out of the bushes on the other side, directly in my face. I jumped at that one too.

Shoutout to Miguel-The Warrior for giving me the best damn scare I have gotten this year.

Shoutout to Elf-The Prisoner for 2nd best scare I've gotten in the streets.

Alice Cooper around 11:15, you guys gave me the best run I've had through that house all year. Not sure why you were so on point but you were. If I had only had that run and not the mediocre ones your house would be viewed in a different light by me.

Thanks to my Elvis friend as well!

Alice Cooper - Cast A

Okay i have to give a shoutout to the entire cast towards the end of your first set. It was literally before cast changeout.. But yea, I had one of the most amusingly entertaining run-throughs tonight. There was a group of 4 teenage boys infront of me. The one boy that was directly infront of me screamed like a little girl. we're talking high-pitched Justin Bieber girl-like scream more than once. The first Black Widow in scene 3 got him, then since the line wasnt really moving at that moment, she leaned in and said "Boo" to one of the other boys & it scared the crap out of him. Brandon (Frogger) and his other two finale castmates sent all four of them scurring out of the house. It was great.

House of Horrors - Cast A

Have to give a shoutout to the scareactors in this cast for scaring Michele repeatedly. It was amusing. Specificly, i believe it was Dracula, Dungeon Frankenstein, Dr Frankenstein, Creature, Charging Frankenstein, Finale Dracula and possibly one other "monster" got her the two times she went through. Great Job!

Streets - Traditionals

Valdez, Pumpkinhead, and at least one other person got some epic scares out of Michele... More than once, which makes it that much better lol

We were actually told, as a cautionary measure, not to scare people around the rat lady due to a misunderstanding that led to show directors thinking that a Beast was scaring the escorts. However, I'm hoping that this story will provide impetus to let us "interfere" with the crowd some more.

It's not the scaring us part. It's really we only have a 25 foot area around the coffin to scare, so at first we'd go to scare in our area and there would be 4 other scare actors interacting with the only crowd we can scare. It's not just beasts. But honestly the beasts are probably my favorite Hollywood partners. I think his name is Mitch but he has a cat like face with a light tab robe and a shaker can.. Is pretty fucking awesome. Definitely enjoy scaring with him

Ok, finally got a night off and got to enjoy the park as a guest.

Of course my chainsaw girls were rockin' it. Especially loved the girl you scared into the trash can!

Have to give a shout-out to the Gothic gargoyle who snatched my map, pointed very disapprovingly that the cover photo was from Silent Hill instead of Gothic, and flung the map to the ground. That was priceless.

To the warrior who actually got me with an attack from the side (who recognized me from rehearsals). It's rare to get a startle out of me, so Kudos.

The Dead End girl who popped out in front of the window ghost and the end of the hallway...sorry I know that's a terrible description, I don't know scene names, but she had some excellent energy!

To the many many other scareactors I encountered last night! You all do such amazing work!!

I was happy to have spent more time with the Traditionals last night. Valdez got one of the best scares this year out of me.

Also have to give shout outs to Iniquitus and Mikey from the warriors. There's nothing more creepy to me than sitting on a bench alone and having a scareactor sit down and stare at you.

Best scare last night (possibly ever)- 9pm Hollywood- the beast in black with the green shawl managed to shimmy under the bench we were sitting, we hear noises by our feet and look down-BAM! Thank you my friend for risking possible injury for that most epic scare...

Yep, that's him! He didn't have his staff last night, which freed him up for our bench scare. Also, he kept jumping into the cemetery props and jumping out at folks, who apparently didnt know beasts could fit in the props

Sorry cody, screwed that last post up all to hell. Apparently I can't edit my own post...

Ah, Alice, my favorite house, and my favorite jock under the bleachers. We pretty much always go through on Team A, since we're always in the Kid Zone pen, and that whole house is always spot on...mental patients, jock, ceiling guy (how the hell do you get me every time), and that final room (loved the "The Vault is dead!" my husband got taunted with tonight).

Horrors Team A is always great fun, too, and I was so happy to get a great double team scare in Walking Dead tonight right in the beginning of the barn. That house seemed more aggressive at the beginning of the season, so that was like a taste of that vicious old aggressiveness that I love.

Gothic gave me a good scare last night, but I'm having a mind blank so I can't remember the details. Love that house, tho'. It's up there with Alice and Horrors in my top 3 for the year.

A letter to the street scareactors-

While we love all the houses this year, my wife and I find ourselves spending more and more time sitting on benches throughout the park and watching you boys and girls tear up the streets. The dedication to your craft and the personalities you give your characters are nothing short of amazing. We've seen you endure injuries, hot costumes, large crowds, and drunk (and sober) idiots without missing a beat. Thank you all for the screams, the laughs, the hand hearts, and the threats of terrible bloody death. It has been an honor to watch you all at work. When the event is over, the couple on the bench, bearded guy and glasses girl (AKA Craig and Jen)will miss you very much.
