Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood - Event Discussion

Recommended Posts

One must wonder if Murdy and Chris are getting fed up with these kinds of incidents... I know Bill & Ted and most likely the Purge barker aren't their forté but I still wonder if they're all "Oh shit, now they're going to tell us what NOT to put in our mazes"..

They've already been told what not to do (La Llorona river scene, Welcome to Hell dancers)

*head wall* doh! That's right, I mean, duh!

Honestly, this may be the last year I attend let alone work HHN if things like this keep happening, a very good friend of mine was one if the purge barkers and tonight just isn't the same without her. HHN come on! Grow some balls bad speak up for your employees, there's signage posted EVERYWHERE I just don't get how this crap holds up.

It's called being "Politically Correct". Universal needs to stand up here.

Couldn't agree more, I feel they've totally dropped the ball on this, I know taking care of their employees isn't top of their list but this was just, huge ball kicker on their end. All I can say is the parents are the only reason this is all happening, the girls pretty much admitted they only took action because their parents said so, clearly they shouldn't be in the park in the first place if mommy and daddy have to hold your hand and have therapy sessions with you afterwards. *punches wall* but while we're on the topic of "OMG my poor child was ruined!" crap, let's just remove the go-gos, scantily clad ladies on the lower lot and in FDtD while we're at it, if "whore" offends those parents and taints the poor widdle innocent children, I'm sure they're super stoked on the idea of women in little bikinis shaking their rears and getting down to some "not age appropriate" music.

I'm there every night working and just spend my breaks wondering the park taking photos and video and going through mazes.

As for tonight, it's so BORING without the barker, I knew it would be, there's a sad, quiet fog looming over The Purge SZ tonight, my breaks have been so boring. Ugh. So it goes I guess.

/end rant on this topic for me.

So there was an insult emporium?!? :o

How did it get banned if it's literally advertising insults tho. You don't have to have any part in the insults. Can somebody please explain?

literally same sh*t they offended someone and they got butt hurt. they took it off but almost every year since then Murdy has been able to sneak it back in, in fact in 2010 the theme of the Terror Tram was Chucky taking revenge for his show being pulled.

This is sad Universal is in the right here it's like going to R movie then complaining because of the explicit content. I mean it is advertised EVERYWHERE Universal should of came out and said "No B*tch" pull out a copy of the Purge: Anarchy and all of their warning signs plaster everywhere!

Regarding the incident with the minors, HHN is an adult event made for mature audiences. If you're unable to withstand the barkers and you get offended easily, don't attend. It's that simple.

Is it just me, or are attendees of these events becoming more and more sensitive? Not just HHN, but at other haunt events too.

America in general is becoming pussified. Even my canadian friends think so.

This has gone too far, It's one thing with the Bill & Ted fiasco (it was the writer's fault)but THIS is literally a part of the event and an actor staying true to a character a person who is SUPPOSED to be vile and disgusting for treating poor people like cattle and the way they are making this actress accountable for doing her job right? What's sad even more is from the news reports I've seen, this is not even the girl's fault it's their horrible mother. They seem to have been put up to it, their words just seem super insincere. My sister who is 14 and has been going to HHN since she was 12 (because she can handle her sh*t) said it perfectly "High school is a hard place, with bullying and rumors but no one is gonna start rumors and bullying someone because of something a fictional villain said at theme park themed to legal murder." What this is about is class status, the fact that the mom had the cash to hire a well known lawyer knowing nothing about the event just to get an apology. It's no t the fact that her girl and her friend was offended it was that she (the mom) was offended they were place on a even level with the rest of the crowd. The Irony is that mom has a lot in common with the auctioneer. Look at the news report she has the girls posing for picture WTF! If I was their parent and really felt that my daughter was humiliated I would take action and keep our names and faces out of the media not parade them around like monkeys doing tricks. I do feel sorry for those girls cuz all the mom did was make them targets if they would of let things go over their heads they would be happy and the joke would of been that a joke between those two girls. NOW that they are all over the place you don't think they are gonna hear "Hey look it the sluts from TV you gonna sue me? huh?" I do honestly feel sorry for those girls I do. That story too about how they wanted to talk to management but they had to buy a ticket and the night was sold out is complete BS. First of all why are you trying to talk to management from 7pm to 2am? who does that? second If you guys remember my review of last year half of my group decided just to buy the tickets day of and DTH notified me here that they sold out the day before at the gate so I headed there early in the morning to try to see if they could do. Not only where they nice enough to sell me the front of the lines tickets that they stash for celebs and VIP but they gave it to me for a discounted price and I mean discounted! To do that they escorted me into the park to the VIP building where they do the surveys to talk to the ticket sales manager and they did this out of generosity because it was our faults for not buying the tickets a head of time so if she had a complaint I'm sure they would of escorted her in.

I've said it a few times, but this is a mature event and it even says it's not suitable for children under 13. It was YOUR choice to bring your young daughters to the event, it was YOUR choice to let them watch the Purge auction, and it was YOUR choice to sue the auctioneer for doing her job correctly and trying to entertain all the people she is paid to entertain. It's such BS and if they do put an age limit I would think 16 because it is a mature event, but not 18+ mature. Or else my dad (who always takes me to HHN, but won't let me see R rated movies) wouldn't let me go. I'm fine with 16+ because I'll be 16 a few weeks before next years event starts and some of the younger kids like those girls or the annoying 13 year old guys (not saying they're all annoying, but all the ones I've seen at HHN have been insanely annoying) would be unable to go and if have a lot less disturbances.

From what I understand there is no lawsuit and I highly doubt there will be. This is a mother throwing her money around by hiring a high profile attorney to hold a press conference. Universal's willingness to give into such demands in the past (Chucky, dancers, Bill and Ted) just invites this sort of stuff.

Just imagine they stop the event and go on another hiatus. In the future when it returns, they'll say "it was stopped before because of gang fights and because the event got too many complaints for being risque. So now we're doing a family friendly Haunt for all ages."
