"Greetings rookies, Weyland here, sorry about this phony theme park nonsense. Welcome to xenomorph research training, where we'll find out if you're the best of the best. Please report to agent training at the other end of the base, Weyland out"

Oh I agree lol :) I'm completely thrilled about this house.

When I heard "on earth" and before "Central American" that spiel popped in my head.

Well that and the silly idea of bringing the Thing to Central Florida in the 2007 story... being as the monster could only be held at bay by extreme cold.

So now I need to poke fun at:

Willy Wonka

Shadow over Innsmouth

The Shinning

Trick 'r Treat

and the concept of the cordecyps zombie.

I was also pleasantly surprised about A&D coming up with their own backstory and ditching the movie plot. It also sounds like there is going to be more focus on the Aliens in this maze. At least it sounds that way in most of the tweets and articles I've read. (face huggers, chest bursters, possible queen) This is going to be one awesome maze, definitely the one I'll be making a beeline to as I enter. I'm guessing the detail will be off the charts in this one.

I still want a True Blood house...

So do I. Do you see a scenario where it could possibly happen in the future? Would the interest and recognition still be there in upcoming years, since this is the last season?

To quote the official AVP maze description, "Navigate the Egg Nursery where facehuggers may hatch at any moment."

That part of the description really excites me! I would assume there will be eggs, where mechanical face hugger aliens will be pop out at you. I would also assume we will be seeing victims of the face huggers!

Yes, that's right. I forgot they mentioned the egg nursery! Sounds like we are going to get every aspect that we have asked for. Eggs, face huggers, chest bursters and the Xenomorphs themselves...the whole life cycle. Now lets just hope we get escorted out of Weyland-Yutani by the Queen herself.

Well I guess we now know where the 6'1"-7' scare actors come in. Oh my gosh I'm so excited right now that I won't have to rewatch those awful movies since they are making this wonderful IPs their own! Also do you think they will have AWIL-style puppets for the Xenomorphs, a couple of costumes for the Aliens or even both?

Eh. I'd say puppets are most likely. But I wouldn't say AWIL style ones. I'd say ones similar to the puppet in The Thing maze, where it looked as if it were standing, but you get the point. An Alien COSTUME would be much to hard to re-use every night.

So, Weyland-Yutani is harvesting xenomorphs and the Predators are coming in to eradicate them?

It's interesting that the plot synopsis doesn't directly mention how or why the Predators are there. It's as if the whole focus is going to be Aliens with a couple of Predators thrown in.

Kind of makes sense that the Predators are just out to "hunt" the Xenomorphs, as that is what they do. The original AVP film established that it is a "rite of passage" for the Predators to hunt down a Xenomorph, and such a hunt has been going on for a long time. If the Weyland facility is harvesting Xenomorphs, that's like a smorgasbord for the Predators. If memory serves, the Predators went to the pyramid structure in the original AVP film to hunt the Xenomorphs, because that's where the Queen Alien would lay her eggs. If the facility in the House is churing out more Aliens, would make sense for the Predators to have located the facility. We just happen to be in the facility at the wrong time. :P

how likely would it be for them to do just a predator for another year?

Like someone else said, the focus seems to be mostly on the aliens with some predators thrown in, but I wonder if they could do a predator house by itself later on?

See I saw it the other way areound. How many xenomorphs do they'll have 3? 4? Arguably both "hero" costumes would be very expensive but an xenomorph costume is very size restricted. But the xenomorphs will be puppets. The puppets will be even more expensive.

Granted they could always do what they did in the movie for the xenomorphs in the background. Black unitards, rough paddding and rough head on tall skinny people. Or they could pop out a head here and a hand there, make the celings/walls move, etc.

The preds you could imply they are in the room without showing them a lot. They are invisible. So audio queues, laser sights, etc. But ultimately I see more preds than aliens in the house.

Agreed and honestly that makes for a better experience anyway... For the same reason that the broken shark in Jaws made for a better movie. When you show the baddies a lot they stop being scary. In general, the more plainly and more frequently they are seen, the less scary they become.

I want a wall of Aliens, like in Aliens when the Marines have their first encounter. Where they're just kinda curled up on a wall making a kickass looking pattern. Walking through the house, hearing the motion detector with a steady beep, then every so often the beeping goes crazy and an anamatronic tail unfolds/comes down like in the movie behind Apone. The wall would be 95% static mold, and then just a tail and maybe another part or two that would move so the wall comes alive.

That's one of my favorite moments in movie history and if they do that, it would be incredible.

Yeah I am also concerned with the way the descriptions are that the focus will be much heavier on the Alien side than the Predator. But I can foresee a similar layout to AWIL were the Xenomorphs will be the puppets were the Werewolves were then have some muscle guys in Predator outfits and some bloody humans crying out in pain and etc inbetween the puppets. Although I feel there should be one awesome finale scene with a Predator and Xenomorph/Queen fighting each other. Idk so much to ponder and hope for in this house. It will be very interesting to see what the final result is, just hope it isn't a missed opportunity, I mean puppets we hope and assume it is on AWIL status but don't forget that the Lickers and Dogs in Resident Evil are "puppets" too and those were a missed opportunity. However I have faith and assume it will be stellar.

I expect to see lots of these pointed at us...
