HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

Recommended Posts

They need to announce this already... which reminds me would Murdy do the first film or Requiem? First film has interesting sets but Requiem being set in a suburban town and having a lot more gore (which Hollywood has shown to be geared more towards) could we see Hollywood using more from the second film?

Probably a mix of both, although I'd bet they'll use more of the second.

Everyone is a critic and will never be happy with anything.

Horror Night Nightmares has become the evil twin of MiceChat. Lots of complaining and whining but into darker and scarier stuff (I know, I've done my fair share of rants too).

Well, you do need a lot of room for those Predator costumes and Xenomorph puppets. Still, if they were to have it based on Requiem, they would probably stuff it in Persian Square.

Wait a minute....that venue is supposed to have an "appealing IP" and AVP would be it....CRAP!

It's going to be either one or the other. It would make no sense to have both in there. Assuming the maze will be based on the first one, I could see Murdy just throwing in the scene where the baby alien comes out of the guy's stomach. I can't remember if that was in the first AVP, but it's too iconic not to include that.

What would the guests think if they got to go through the Texas Chainsaw Massacre maze, but it was based on the original second movie? What about a maze based only on American Werewolf in Paris? Hostel part 3? The second may have descent environments, but nobody wants to go through a maze that's based on a horrifically bad movie. Murdy knows everyone will be expecting it to be based on the first movie.

Requiem is a guilty pleasure of mine. I turn my brain off and just enjoy it for what it is. I love the first film more (Not that it was a much better film in the first place) but again I'd love to see The Predalien somewhere haha.

But why not Planet Terror?! Grrrrr. Could've used the El Cucuy facade and have the Grindhouse double bill on it. Walk into the theater, walk into the movie -- have that old, 70s feel to it all, complete with crappy mono sound. Maybe literally walk into a scene and it just be construction walls with "set not yet built" written somewhere. Lots of references to Death Proof like the Jungle Julia billboard, crashed cars with zombified girls, and maybe a zombified Kurt Russel at the end. Quentin Tarantino association would've been HUGE as well.

This Please!!!!!

I never thought it was coming.

I feel like I'm in the minority when I say I'm kind of excited for FDTD. I mean sure, there are TONS of IPs that would have been better, but we can't change the lineup so I'll just look forward to the maze. Plus it's not like there won't be at least one IP thats on the spec lineup

Yup your not alone I'm super excited!!!! :D

Could AVP be in trouble? FDTD features temples... as does AVP. Welp! Too bad. Imagine our anger when its figured out he did some cruddy TV low awarness TV show over ALIEN AND Predator. Maybe then y'all will understand the AHS issue

I used to be like that. But I'm at the point to where I just want to go with the flow and enjoy the event. I'm passed the fact that my pet horror franchises will probably never happen (Scream and American Horror Story) and I just hope to maybe be pleasantly surprised one day

So I've decided to use link-trickery to look at thumbnails from the private video.

THE PLOT THICKENS MORE INTENSELY

It seems to be a commercial featuring Evil Dead from last year.

So why is it private?

I think you're looking too far into it.

I wonder how much that anniversary will play a role in advertising? I imagine the bigger sell (advertisements need to appeal to short attention spans) would be one of the most iconic horror series of all time and a pretty well known action/horror series in the same maze.

But I'm not an exec. And I do see a fair amount of anniversary edition DVDs/Blu Rays.

I think Alien is a much bigger draw than Predator anyway. Predator is well known without a doubt, but Alien is one of the best known franchises in horror AND sci-fi.

So with AWIL a pretty much sure thing and FDTD being a curveball, I have my doubts about CITW. On one hand like AWIL they can use a lot of props from Orlando (excluding any masks they decide to make full face prosthetics) but on the other hand it is two lower awareness IPs at HHN. CITW certainly has awareness, but enough to be used as well as those two?
