HHN XXI Speculation II

Recommended Posts

Spanish Inquisition sounds more likely given the Prisoner codename. Knott's Berry Farm did a house a long time ago with the same theme of a sort of Spanish castle with people being tortured by said individuals. And for more information on said Inquisition, check out this link via Wikipedia.

Coincidentally, the majority of the group's actions were held in Seville, and I swear someone on here mentioned Seville as part of speculation...

You know, I was never really a fan of that area for a scarezone. I always felt that Mel's made the area too bright and unappealing as a scarezone. I liked it as a venue for the yearly shows though, like the Arrival. It really kept the traffic away from the house in the Disaster queue.

Maybe it's not the best location for the any of the scarier zones, but I liked it because it always seemed to be the place for the more fun scarezones, such as Horrorwood and Fear Revealed. The more intense scarezones are better off in places like New York and Shrek Alley. No matter what, I will be happy if they are moving the streets around a bit though. They did all seem to be to close together. I just hope they don't put anything where Cirque Du Freak was.

Now, soundstage 23, with 'impaled,' makes me think Vlad the impaler. But we just had a dracula house, so I doubt that's it. Unless we're getting a whole history themed event? 22 kinda sounds like a 'haunted house' tyype house (IE Legendary Truth). Again, just had one. Floating head? sounds like LT type to me.

But I'm probably way off as usual. I'm just gonna guess that I'm running vaguely with one or two vague ideas.

It's nice to finally have some role names. Now we actually have something useful to speculate on. But A&D makes these roles vague for a reason, and they might end up meaning something completely different than we expected.

This makes no sense to me. The photo shoots for this year's event print media, marketing, billboards etc etc where completed about a month ago already. Why would they be bringing in girls now to "sketch."

Also i'm just gonna state this right now and you may take it however you please:

Chance is not our icon. We may have a new character named Chance but she/it/he will not be connected to the Chance of the past that we saw last year or in '07.

Legacy, you missed one.

Here is the list as it appeared on the audition sheet:

HW

CP

IFB

LP

Shrek

NY

Listed else where on the sheet was Lucy.

IFB most likely mean International Food/Film Building.

I've been told that her name can change, and I've been that's she's, "familiar, yet different," so I really don't expect the Chance from last year to be the same Chance from this year. However, the original concept (from even before clown-Chance's debut) was "Chance," as of a few months ago it was Chance and as of a few weeks ago, it was Chance. However, I know things always have to potential to change within weeks at Universal, so even though her name might be different, the character will be the same.

And I stupidly didn't list the locations (like I normally do) on Tuesday myself. A friend of mine who auditioned gave those original names to me, and while I figured one was missing, I had recalled seeing "Lucy" on the sheet so I didn't think anything of it being wrong. I'm glad you pointed it out so speculation can be valid.

If IFB really IS the International Food/Film Building, I'm a bit confused as to where that is. I "picture" it being in front of the library by where special-events take place, but I know that can't be it. I'm drawing a blank as to where it can be in the park, and don't recall ever hearing the term before...

And with "Lucy" being listed, but probably not being a show and obviously not being a house, we are either having a "Barker" at the entrance or potentially a roving troupe that "starts" the night near Lucy.

The International Food Building/Restaurant/Area is to the right of Simpsons, just before the Animal Actors stage. It's the area with stairs and the multiple flags from different countries. In this area last year there were just a bunch of LED strobe lights up on some poles.

Thanks to Rumors, we have some roles revealed.

http://hhnrumors.com/?x=casting

Parade Building (B79)

Prisoner

Francisco

I'm thinking that the Parade Bldg. house may be something related to the Incan conquest or the Peruvian conquest according to some research I did of Francisco Pizarro, which you can read here in this article. ... or maybe Spanish Inquisition.

It might also have something to do with Alcatraz.

It was something that just popped up when I saw it, maybe because of the theme.

Or am I missing something?

Oh... so where there should have been a been scarezone last year.

It's good to see more of a spread, and are is more condusive to an actual zone. Best part of that area? No alternate paths... you have to go through it.

EDIT - We should have learned from last year that, except with a couple of roles in Hades, the roles didn't give us much. I'm hearing there are multiple Spanish names in the parade building, not just Fransisco, so we can't narrow that down, and "prisoner" could mean anything. All we can safely assume is that Parade is the Spanish house.

Impaled could be a construction worker impaled in rebar, a victim of Vlad, or a ghost (Think about it, "I'm Pale(d)" = Impaled).

Widow could be relating to a widow's watch (which could match the theme to a possible house), as could Decay... although neither is specific enough to give us anything.

Blackjack Dealer could really be anything, and (while possible) I can't imagine the headline house being in a tent, even if that tent won HotY last year...

And Floating Head tells us about as much as Rune Room did.

Remember, they started coding roles and intentionally labeling them in vague ways last year. The Orfanage's Cindy was titled "Crispy." All the Icons were "Con Artists" and "Doctor" was so vague it took most of us a month to make the connection between "Doctors" and the plague. I wouldn't get too attached to any of the ideas flying about because of character names, because it's been proven that they don't amount to a whole lot anymore...

Right... but if we get enough we can speculate the house.

Oh added Soundstage 22 would be "Doctor Frankenstein Clone"

<_<

Dear lord, that could be anything...

A literal clone (unlikely) of Dr. Frankenstein...

Someone wearing the same costume from 2009's Frankenstein...

A character who creates a monster or disease relating to the story of the house...

Actually... I like that last one.

First house spec on 22... a Zombie/Infection house.

Widow = "Surviving" wife of a dead character.

Decay = An infected/transformed individual.

Dr. F's Clone = The creator.

Alternate Spec: War/Ghost House

Widow = Mourning ghost

Decay = Essentially a zombie ghost.

Dr. F's Clone = Random war doctor/surgean wearing Dr. F's costume.

... and I could quite possibly be wrong on both counts.

I think your probably closer on the last one ;)

The clone part could even be Dr. Frankenstien's costume from '09.

I figured the costume was the best part.

Do we know where that house is, or is its existance still speculation?

According to the contractors Tent 2 is the house to see this year.

Does this mean that the Casino house will have alot of strobes considering it will be in Tent 2... Tent 2 houses are always strobe crazy ( Dead exposure, Spawning, Havoc)

[]All this speculation about a "Rune House" is going on, and im clueless about what that even is. There is also some talk about a war/zombie house. I automaticly think of Havoc: Dogs of War. I doubt HAvoc will return but if there is something similar to that then I will be pleased. Now with a SZ by IFB near simpsons would be great because, as mentioned by another person, you would have no way to get around it if you went back that way. Another thing im confused about is Soundstage 23 and where that is. If anyone can help me about the "Rune House" and Soundstage 23 that would be great.

I was expecting the casino type house would be in a SS or the Parade building... Why Tent 2?? But that would kinda explain the UNUSUAL Facade on Tent 2... I guess

Again... it might be a bit presumptious to say that Tent 2 is the Casino. We still have three houses with no known roles, and a "Blackjack Dealer" could be many things.

A "Blackjack" is a weapon, or could be code for something else entirely. A "Dealer" could deal drugs, cards, or cars. So, again, don't jump to conclusions on one role.

I love how much love the tents have been getting the last couple of years, though.

Fun fact and a stretch but blackjack is a strain of THC. Dealer fits but I don't think that is something Universal would do.

Those were in the Parade Building. We're assuming it's the "Spanish" house.

I was watching the intro on the website and noticed the flickering/scratchy lines going across the image. It made me think of a slide projector or old video camera.

Then it hit me, aren’t casinos covered in surveillance cameras? Maybe the casino isn’t so deadly...until the cameras or whoever is watching them sees that someone is about to beat The House, or sees someone cheating.

Maybe this is how the houses/zones will be connected. Based on people that almost beat The House. I guess kind of similar to Mary Agana’s patients and their phobias and their relation to the 2008 houses.

They used surveillance cameras in the 20's?
