HHN XXI Speculation II

The more we talk about the cards the more that i cant wait to see the reveal of the icons......I dont think were looking in too much into the cards symbolism has always played a huge role in this event so unless the theory is totally out there and far fetched i dont think a symbolist idea should be disregurded

I'm not saying ignore the symbolism, I'm saying ignore the face down card. The only cards that matter are the two face-up ones. Everything you need is right there. There are not three icons this year. There are two. If you stop worrying about a third that isn't happening, it's possible you can figure out who the two are.

Guys, Cody already asked you once to stop with the "I think the website will update between ______ and ______" posts in the other thread. That doesn't mean to bring it over here. I don't have a problem with these types of posts, but you've proven to me over the past few years (between here and Vault) that you can't keep a level head on the manner and I'm not putting up with it this year. The fact of the matter is that nobody knows when we will get another update.

So please, don't guess on when the website will update. Unless you have some sort of weird fetish where you get off on having your posts deleted.

Really? I thought trailer had a wooden table, a third card in the upper left, no card under the up-cards and no chips on the table...

I might be missing something, but I don't see the picture above either. As for the card under the up- cards in this picture, there is none.

Also, since I'm now able to look at the "Green" image on an actual computer and not on an iPod, that's not a third card under there. It's the Player Marker that is seen on felt Blackjack and/or Poker tables.

blackjack.jpg

It's the square (or sometimes an oval) that marks where the dealer will lay cards in front of a player. If you look closely, you can see that it's actually the same green inside that white square as the rest of the table.

No third card. No third icon.

And hhnFEARfan, I posted what I believe the cards are saying several posts back. I'm not digging it out again. If you actually care, you have to actually read the speculations I've made.

And at one point it was this:

cardtable.qvg.jpg

That one I modelled the counter after :)

Don't force your idea of an icon onto the cards. The cards tell you exactly who the icons are.

.....so.....allow me to redirect you guys to my post of the meanings of the Ace of Spades and the Queen of Spades it is slightly above the last couple of posts

This stuff reminds me of people seeing things in the lattice work of the lantern last year and in '08 when people swore they could see the icon in Mary's Mirror... Chance? Two icons? Floating freaking houses? Wow this stuff is getting crazy.

Autumn is still a little ways off and we have yet to get get one update after the teaser. The commonest mistake in history is underestimating your opponent; it happens at the poker table all the time so you should know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em as your best chance to get a Royal Flush in a casino is in the bathroom. Otherwise, you are involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

I'm not much of a card player, so I did some research on the significance of the Queen of Spades and the Ace of Spades.

The Queen of spades is considered to be a sign of intelligence. It is representative of judgment that is practical, logical, and intellectual. It represents a woman who is creative and makes her plans ahead of time.

In the game of Hearts, the Queen of spades is usually considered an unlucky card. The player who ends up with the Queen of spades after a match scores 13 points (points are to be avoided in this game). The exception is when the player receives this card with all 13 hearts, in which the player is said to have shot the moon, and this player scores no points, while all opponents are scored 26 points.

In the game of Old Maid, while any card can technically be used for this purpose, the Queen of spades is traditionally used as a card that has no match, thereby making it the "old maid" card.

An Ace of Spades card, in popular myth and folklore, it is also known as the "death card"

In the imagery used, the Queen of Spades is holding a dagger, where on actual cards, the Queen of Spades is holding a rose. Just something might worth looking into.

I think that the Queen of Spades represents the House (The Icon) most probably, and whoever the severed hand belonged to, drew a death card (Ace of Spades) and met their demise because they had a perfect 21. The House doesn't like to lose, so the player got killed during the game. I think this information helps reinforce the tagline: "Because Nobody Beats The House."

The Icon whoever it will be will change the game to what ever he wants it to be so that the house all ways will win thats the evil of it you lose he he wins always.. i see this year not being a walk in the park for any "victims" in the house i mean the punishment for losing is gonna vary from person to person i bet

So are we not having the whole Unified Aggressor system they injected into last year's event then? 'Cause it sounds more like this year is bound to very victim-focused than anything...

How so? If by "Unified Aggressor" you mean all the scareactors are coming at you, instead of passive scenes where you are watching other victims, I think you'll still see that. This year's concept feels more like you're the one taking chances and testing fate. I honestly don't think it's victim-based at all.

If you're going off the recent "spec" about punishments, that's more based on wishful thinking than any actual information.

I think you are correct in your assumption of what he meant by Unified Aggressor. Last year we were told there would be no victims (scareactors who were the victims of torture/a killing placed in the scene) and that everyone would be after the guests.

The passive show-scenes with victimes (the Spine Rip is a perfect example) were a favorite of Roddy... so yeah. I'm almost positive the scareactors will be more agressive than the last few year and we won't be many victims anymore. The only "victim" I remember last year was Spine Girl in the Body Collector's room, which was used for nostalgia purposes.

If I remember correctly, there was also a victim in Saws and Steam... sorry, lol, just felt the need to be a smartass :)
