At this point the rusty pipe could be anything. I don't think it's the spinning tunnel/vortex though. It will probably be a scenic piece used in the house somewhere...

I'd agree. You usually see the vortex prop only once in a year, if you see it at all. And if I'm not mistaken, it's been done in tents and soundstages. I don't know how they'd be able to put on in a low hanging ceiling area.

Yeah the vortex/tunnel is typically used in just one house every year and usually it's in a elevated part of the house. Just to use for examples, 2004 in was in Disorientorium, and 2009 it was in Chucky Friends Til the End. Hopefully it's used again this year. The vortex/tunnel along with the shock drop bridge are among my 2 favorite effects used in the houses at HHN...

I miss the drop bridge... they haven't used that in a while.

I also miss the puking zombie... he could've been in Catacombs...

The vortex HAS to be in an elevated portion of the house by virtue of its mechanics. It sits on wheels that spin it, and so the tunnel itself is roughly 8 inches off the ground. The bridge that goes through it is about two foot off the ground (but can be more, depends on the build). The vortex (I believe) is about 9-10 ft in diameter (I guess-timating from my height) and you need proper clearance above it. That means that (again, I'm guess-timating) you need a ceiling at least 12 foot tall, and probably closer to 15 foot for fire code purposes. I know Jaws has a "tall" ceiling, but it also has a lot of cross beams that can interfere with the vortex's installation.

I think the vortex could work in a SnS house (especially if the effect is that you are being processed), but depending on the specifics of our casino it might better there (imagine walking THROUGH a roulette wheel). From a logistical standpoint though, I would be quite surprised if the vortex does end up in Jaws.

I'm sorry, but what is this bridge I keep hearing about?

It's an old bit of floor that they used, something common in fun houses; a section of the floor that drops slightly to scare you. Think the end of Twister.

Looking at some of the construction pictures of Disaster! the house in that location looks a lot longer to me this year.

I agree it looks so much longer than usual maybe its just the camera angle? dr jimmy said recently he was informed the houses will all be longer than in the past

Can someone post a link to a pic of the Disaster Facade...if it's not illegal that is.

It is. Can only be seen from the employee view. And I believe you would have to look over the fence.

Scaryguy5 is right I left these posts to reply. Please do not ask for pictures of areas that cannot be taken from guest areas. What you do is your business but we do not condone such behavior on the forum.

I spy with my eye a box that says "China Hat" at Jaws and a Christmas tree, giant red and green balls like Christmas decorations, and a wooden horse in Disaster. I am at Universal right now in line for Disaster so I'll upload the Christmas tree pictures when I get home.

Edit: Here are two camera phone pictures I took from the Disaster line of the Christmas tree:

Also, I noticed one of the rooms is more and more beginning to look like a nursery. There were several little wooden horses, a stuffed animal, and giant apples on top of another.
