  1. Sorry for my absence everyone, I was on vacation after opening weekend and just came home last night! I am currently compiling song tracks tagged from both on here and other sources! May need a few days to a week to catch up, but I will get it up ASAP! Sorry for the inconvenience and not being on as much! I am home now and can get to work on the music! Thank you all for the help and patience!

  2. A couple of weeks back, they filled a couple of permits to build a new warehouse/parade building as the newest house locations. From what I’ve heard, this could be the last year for the sprung tents at Orlando before they move to Hollywood, which I actually find this very interesting. If they do a sequel or two of the houses from previous years that were over there, then they could do a send off kind of moment cause why not?

  3. Almost all of the permits are here, and the best thing about them is there are new codenames for the houses as the first part of the clues! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kD-hQsh8Z6_dBGS-b_bLP6CdpfJTg1MbhtEvYZwyjPc

  4. These are some confusing but really interesting permits. From what I’m hearing, a staggered operations are taking place at The Simpsons Ride (which will be on the chopping blocks soon) like what Back To The Future had before the closure and replacement. Looks like that attraction might be leaving sooner than what I’m expecting, since it had seen better days, but it’d crazy if they gut everything in there for an eleventh house even though that’s not very realistic. If that’s not the case, then they’re probably gonna install another parade building whether they could expand it or fill in for the sprung tents. https://fxtwitter.com/hnnightmares/status/1736881698057355446?s=46&t=2J2KPQJiV5SqYy9HPrqePg

  6. I hope some sort of official compilation ends up being made - there's a couple songs from this year I still haven't been able to identify, and having them provided directly by Universal would be great!

  11. I can see a week by week announcement, starting with Stranger Things for this time, the Exorcist for the next week, and Monsters for the end of the month that not only lines well but also roll us right into Midsummer Scream with one of the Hollywood originals over there. Then in August, we get the final spec map update and later a full dump of originals, zones, and shows to finalize the full lineup.

  12. Wouldn’t hold my breath on the 4-zone limit yet until the next spec map update. The New York Waterfront behind the Sting Alley where the Klownz were retain the total to 5.

  13. Now there are some talks going on about the scarezones being reduced to four, meaning the the now Minions Land zone won’t be having it cause that particular IP with its own areas at other parks is never used for the event.

  18. That sounds about right. Hopefully tomorrow or Thursday afternoon is our next house announcement. I’m guessing the rumored Phantom of the Opera house.

  19. Here are some writing translations. “Uncover The Truth” “The Signs Are Everywhere” “Hiding In Plain Sight” “Join The Quest For The Truth” ”If You Dare” “See You In The Fog” They’re all just teasers, but Universal’s HHN pages on all the Twitters and Facebooks are letting us know that another house announcement is coming real soon.

  20. What about a Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss haunted house or scarezone? Sure not many people know about these animated series, but these are adults animations with violence and horror content in them, so they may work for Halloween Horror Nights.

  21. With 32 (along with the recently discontinued Halloween Nightmare Fuel) now officially over, it’s that time again for us to chat about next year’s event. What IP’s you think are coming the most right now? What original concepts do you wanna see at the event. Will there ever be another icon to tie into the HHN like Dr. Oddfellow? Will they bring back Bill & Ted? So many questions to say our own thoughts and opinions. It’s not just part of the fan community, it’s culture!

  22. At last! My arm is complete again! This is my very first take of doing a haunted house concept that is both based on a musical play and a movie. Sweeney Todd is another piece I’m proud of writing; I was taking all the theatrical stuff to my highest level and it even brought me to another area. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RIppLGlcjD8WR8IFSjisxe9WlxLTKLc-QtzjiiN2RnU/edit

I was really going all out on this. I hope you guys enjoy this newest piece of mine. Next I’ll work on another concept that is music-related. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QM1IIe6bvDvccqMSMGCc85SDC7ccsQY48CFbcgMVNIU/edit

  24. With Christmas over until this December, I’m right now working on the themed event concept of Halloween Horror Nights: Face The Music, starting with the main doc first by adding a premise and icon backstory, an overlay for the Archway, music playlist, and original music compositions. Could add more if necessary, but I wanna make sure it looks done enough to show y’all what it looks like so far before it’s done again. I’ll also give my old concepts a cast update as well for more details, additions, and better quality of writing, but it could take for Face The Music to be similarly on par with Memories In Darkness and Jungles of Fear cause I’ll be very busy at work to remodel at my job other than my full house family, which are always a top priority.

  26. Took a good amount of inspirations from the original Tarzan stories; his appearance isn’t like how Hollywood portrays him who actually had a hair body that made look both closely and eerily like an ape other than in a near perfect muscular form with a skimpy loincloth on nor he was raised by gorillas like in the Disney version. Unlike my Jungle Book concepts which leans more on the Scary Tales side and is considered as an unconventional fairy tale, La is a little more pulpier like what you see in the old comics from the 30’s to 50’s.

  27. @Sinfear Just gave one of my house concepts a vast update for more details, additions, and better quality of writing. This is also the comedy house for my HHN themed event, Jungles of Fear that revolves around the Kremlings from the Donkey Kong Country series. Next, I’ll make one more house to complete the total, then update a couple of more houses, and finally complete the event concept. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Kquh6GKLEIsPbWprZxEH8QISvAPCOnnGI4mVPzyQ-sc/edit

  28. Just got home from Orlando after my trip at Universal, it’s gonna take some time for me to think of the rank lists from top to bottom. The houses were better than last year, and none of them were bad, especially the bottom tier just like what I had before at 30.

  29. @Sinfear Recently gave one of my house ideas a vast update for more details, additions, and better quality of writing for my Jungles of Fear themed event of HHN to emphasize the icon backstory more clearly and deeply. I’m working on a 13th house concept right now. Though it’s ridiculously way too much for Universal to do in reality, but I wanna make sure the variety is there with every bit in it as I could for everyone to enjoy. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1H0SGl_GKrauUn_ChsCCbrdGS_1nAgCFfoo625hCM9g4/edit

  31. Icon backstory of Dr. Oddfellow Dr. Oddfellow served as the icon of Halloween Horror Nights 32, tying into all of the scarezones and some of the haunted houses that year. Thus, alot more of his backstory was revealed. In the 1920s, Dr. Oddfellow ventured into an ancient jungle called "The Jungle of Doom". There, he performed horrific experiments on the animals there, turning them into grotesque creatures. In 1939 during the Dustbowl, Dr. Oddfellow set up his carnival in a small rural midwest town. There, he mutilated hundreds of people (some of which were some of his own performers), turning their bodies into grotesque versions of the Zodiac signs. He burned down all of the posters and advertisements with the name of his carnival to cover his tracks and created Zodiac symbols all over the carnival. These symbols contained great amounts of power. Additionally, he drew the same symbol on his face during this time, as well as a larger symbol on his back featuring elements from all 12 Zodiac symbols. This ritual granted him the power of immortality and of the Zodiac. In the 1940s, a crate featuring Dr. Oddfellow's Zodiac Symbol arrived on a shipping yard in San Francisco. Various oddities would escape from the crate, slaughtering all of the workers in the shipping yard and causing mass destruction. In 1961, Dr. Oddfellow disguised himself as a vampire named Earlow Wolfe in order to infiltrate a secret group of vampires. He made up a backstory in which he claimed to be a circus worker whose circus was attacked by vampires in 1938, causing him to turn into one himself. He successfully fooled the Vampire Council that he was a vampire. In 1968, Oddfellow, now a part of the council, stands up to fellow councilmember Olatto, demanding that he lets the vampires go on a frenzy and feed on whoever they please without restraint. As he does this, the symbol on his head glows for a moment then fades. He did all of this in order to gain power over Olatto in the council. In 1969, Dr. Oddfellow would unleash the vampires during a music festival in a small town in upstate New York, causing mass destruction and chaos. It is also heavily implied that Dr. Oddfellow killed and sacrificed Olatto, and used his blood to increase his own power over vampires. When Jack killed Oddfellow in 2007, this sent him into a dark dimension for 16 years. In 2023, he would escape the dimension, due in part to the powers he gained from killing Olatto. He would reclaim his Cane of Souls and announce to the world that he would offer anyone who wants to immortality. He would show them images of fear and terror, which would break their connections to the mortal world. No one would be able to resist immortality, allowing him to gain a legion of followers completely under his control. In 1969, Dr. Oddfellow would unleash the vampires during a music festival in a small town in upstate New York, causing mass destruction and chaos. It is also heavily implied that Dr. Oddfellow killed and sacrificed Olatto, and used his blood to increase his own power over vampires.

  32. Last of Us for the 10th anniversary, Chucky for the 35th anniversary, Exorcist for the 50th anniversary, Monsters for the 100th anniversary, and Jungle of Doom zone for the 20th anniversary of the house at 13. Anniversaries aren’t really on their minds, but they’re going all out unintentionally.

Chucky is announced as a house, Stranger Things might have a surprising return for Season 4, Woodstock Vamp is the most rumored scarezone, and I also think it’s possible that the rumored Jungle zone might have a Scary Tales aesthetic and something literature-related (see my house concepts I written).

  39. Here are some details! "On both coasts, the haunted houses "will propel guests into a world of carnage and mayhem as they follow in the footsteps of the game's protagonists, Joel and Ellie, who endure a brutal journey in a world overtaken by a fungal virus that turns humans into various forms of a new threat known as the Infected," per a press release. Along the way, guests will encounter fearsome foes from the games, including runners, stalkers, and clickers, and will also stare down hostile human adversaries. Attendees will experience other locations from the games as well, like the Hotel Grand and subterranean tunnels. "We are excited to bring The Last of Us to life in a terrifying haunted house that is true to the spirit of this popular video game featuring our heroes, Joel and Ellie, clickers and more," said Lora Sauls, Assistant Director, Creative Development and Show Direction at Universal Orlando, in a statement. John Murdy, HHN's EP, added: "The world inside the game offers a multitude of suspenseful and horrifying opportunities to provide guests with a one-of-a-kind experience that can only be found at Halloween Horror Nights."" https://ew.com/amusement-parks/universal-halloween-horror-nights-last-of-us-haunted-house/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly_entertainmentweekly&utm_content=manual&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=648b3694ad70cc00013f0738 And the reveal trailer for those who had never seen it yet.

  40. And just in time for the franchise 10th anniversary. I’m guessing they’re going with the games cause they probably have trouble getting the rights of the TV series, but I think it goes either way. However, Chucky is the only house that is on the television bill, so they probably wanna strike a balance to make sure everything is different enough. Get ready for more merch to drop at the studios right now!

  41. @Sinfear @DocNiktMarr @pumpkinbot343 Just got my newest zone idea done for the Jungles of Fear theme event. It’s my take of doing an African-themed zone inspired by the origins of the Zombie concept that is my best of doing an immersive and cohesive take rather than reusing the same familiar type of vibe that’s been done before for God knows how many times in pop culture. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Lx6CUmygysxdikH7im6M2rBHRFDmZPZe79Lpz40yUvs/edit

  42. V2 of the idea. Still not finished. Since the Dawn of time, love, peace, and tranquility coexisted with hatred, war, and fear. These manifested into two gods but for now let’s talk about the dark half. The “Dark God” represented the negative side of life and throughout the centuries has worked to maintain their hold throughout not only the world but the whole universe. The dark god enlisted agents throughout time to keep the balance of darkness within their grasp. One day or night, a brother and sister walked down a lonely road hand by hand, the people able to take care of them having been gone. The dark god approached them and invited them to stay in their realm, while suspicious the siblings felt they had no choice and agreed. While under the dark god’s tutelage, the brother and sister were taught about the ways of darkness, both becoming their apprentices. The brother studied the inner workings of the human mind, specifically those of negative thoughts like hatred, fear, and pain. With the dark god’s help, the brother gained multiple victims to test and study these dark thoughts. The sister meanwhile studied the workings of bodies, both their outside looks and the inner workings. She too received plenty of “participants”, but of the physical(ly violent) testings as opposed to the psychological. They eventually became true literal monsters. The brother Tabunsunce used the powers of the Sun which reflected his volatile and highly emotional state, while the sister Kosongmond used the powers of the Moon which reflected her aloof nature. (Tabansunce is a combo of Somali and Bosnian words, while Kosongmond is an combo of Malay and German words).

  43. I know that happened but Orlando can't keep Hollywood waiting?

  44. I’m totally seeing it as a teaser for the next house announcement. If the current spec map were a hundred percent true, then the Monsters are obviously first as usual. As for the “My Harvest is inescapable” translation, the word “Harvest” means to gather, so that could be a reference to Dr. Oddfellow and that he’s gathering (harvesting) something inescapable. I know that sounds like a stretch, but I know that it’s just a tease to get ready for what they’re about to drop before the event kicks in.

  45. Based on what’s speculating right now, this sure it means a lot. There’s been talks about Dr. Oddfellow being a possible icon too. https://twitter.com/fearandbeerpod/status/1655233687569539073?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1655233687569539073|twgr^|twcon^s1_&ref_url=

  46. Hazbin Hotel isn't as similar to Universal Horror Hotel. UHH is a hotel haunted by lost souls, HH is a show where a Princess of Hell has an uphill battle rehabilitating demons. My thoughts, the lineup is solid, but AVP is now a Disney property so it's unlikely. And since the Hollywood Universal Mazes include music by Slash, would Dracula's Bloodbath and Clowns 3D both have original Slash music for the year? Because that'd be awesome! My concern with the scarezones is that Helluva Boss is at the gates. While I'd be fine with horror cartoons being represented in Halloween Horror Nights, having the first scarezone be Helluva Boss seems risky. I'd swap it with Dark Angels. I'm a bit more curious as to what the scarezones would entail, though.

  48. back at hhn they had a house in 1995 called universal house of horrors. it was basically a duel run haunted house with two sides. classics and modern, the house was popular enough to have a few sequels. 1995 universal house of horrors 1996 universals new house of horrors. a version that replaced the modern movies with real life serial killers like jack the ripper. 1997 universals museum of horrors 1998 museum of horror; chamber of horrors. museum of horror, unnatural history 1999 universal's creature feature in 3d. don't know if it counts but the theme is similar. if anyone remembers these mazes and what some of these rooms were that would be amazing.

  49. I'm on the same boat as the people that want a clean slate. But if I had to choose houses to come back for sequels, Dark Torment, and Cold Blind Terror would be my choices.

  50. This house is a great tribute to the legendary Ray Harryhausen. I love the foul smell which I have heard is supposed to be sulfur but actually smells to me at least, more like carrion. I have got lots of shout outs in this house but am especially delighted when the Cyclops shouts out "DOKKK -TORRRRR!!!!" As for the Empty Throne it gives me a sense of deja vu to a similar empty throne 10 years ago in the year 2000. That year the house Dark Torment ended in the throne room of Hell and although there were many demons and devils in the room none seemed to be the Big Guy himself. I had always thought that the Lord of Darkness who was featured in the Parade that year should have been sitting there. This year I learned that was in fact the original intention! The house was to have been called Darkness and the Big Horned Guy from Legend was to have starred in it. For some reason this was changed at the eleventh hour. My guess is that they couldn't get the costume into the scene with the big horns and all - similar to what happened in Creatures in 2008 and Dracula's wings last year. What trouble has removed the Stygian Lord from his realm this year remains anyone's guess.
