ForeverEvil1
Hint 2: One of the words in the title is something that modern technology has pretty much killed...might go extinct one day. Hint 3: Song is not as obscure as thought. Was originally released as a single. One of three hints MAY be a carny trick. May probably meaning one is. HorrorNightsFan13
Does anyone know all 4 of johns names? Or because we don't know them it could be the red herring Edited January 24, 2015 by HorrorNightsFan13
Ridesandstuff
That hint is probably the red herring. I mean that's hardly a hint anyways Based on the hints this is probably the most obvious song so it's most likely wrong but it's worth a shot http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Killed_the_Radio_Star So if this turns out to be it, then I'm guessing Sinister Edited January 24, 2015 by Ridesandstuff
HorrorNightsFan13
Just asked JM about any of the members of the buggles. Waiting for a reply.
Demonic Poison
Dont know if Hint #1 is a red herring but John's full name, from what i could find, is John Robert Francis Murdy

hhnfanforever
I am for sure thinking the song is "Video Killed the Radio Star" and the many references to videos and rewinding, etc. leads me to believe that this maze will probably be Sinister. HorrorNightsFan13
Seeing as how none of JM's names relate to the buggles it leads me to believe that if VKRS is the song then the name hint is a red herring

Ridesandstuff
I don't think its that song its a pretty obvious connection so it could be wrong. Hell, he could've thrown in the technology hint to lead us to that song on purpose.
foodstampsFTW
I don't think its that song because I don't see the connection, today's technology didn't kill video or radio
Ridesandstuff
I don't think its that song because I don't see the connection, today's technology didn't kill video or radio radio was basically killed in the 50's when televisions started to become mainstream. Now with itunes, illegal downloading, and pandora they're basically useless besides cars, and now in most new cars you can just use an auxiliary cord and play your own music from your phone. deliciousoatmeal
I don't think its that song because I don't see the connection, today's technology didn't kill video or radio I think everyone's mind went to VKRS first, but the second thing I thought of that was an obsolete technology was V/H/S. Now, I don't know if or how that relates to any post punk songs, but it would make a strange maze.
Ridesandstuff
Random thought, but i really hope we end up getting the hitchcock house that orlando seems to be getting
Freak
Random thought, but i really hope we end up getting the hitchcock house that orlando seems to be getting We won't. That's quite unfortunate because that sounds like a FANTASTIC idea.
JGmoney1996
Death Disco? Isn't Disco dead? No idea what the lyrics would suggest but I'm certainly not a fan of this song..... Edited January 24, 2015 by JGmoney1996
JGmoney1996
So The Cure fits all of his hints, and the plot of American Horror Story: Freak Show seems to be modern technology killing the freak show. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you this song: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freakshow_(The_Cure_song) I also discovered a couple more songs, but none nearly as striking as the one above: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/pixies/lettertomemphis.html http://www.metrolyrics.com/disco-dancer-lyrics-devo.html http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/coldfeet/workinginacoalmine.htm
HorrorNightsFan13
Woah the Freakshow connection was a great idea. Modern technology hasn't really killed off freak shows. So that one could be the false hint. The cure was next on my list of going through bands suggested by my dad about the post punk thing.

JGmoney1996
Thanks guys! I wouldn't call it just yet, though. Let's obviously keep looking in case. Edit: Also notice how Murdy says The hint to the theme of this maze can be found in a song title of a band initially associated with the post punk musical movement... This means that the title is the THEME. You could argue that the theme of this season of American Horror Story is Freak Show OR the theme could deal with freaks. Sorry, I spelled that wrong.... Freakz. Edit 2: He also says You'll find out the name of this maze and how the hints relate (or not) when we release it this summer. So maybe the NAME of the maze IS directly related to the song. So obviously it could still be AHS if that tweet is also a subtle clue. Edit 3: Saw this in the comments on Twitter. Another single by The Cure is called A Letter to Elise. Elise is the name of the old woman in the Insidious movies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Letter_to_Elise Edited January 24, 2015 by JGmoney1996
