Let me know leave you with my conclusions. First, too many people are looking to deep into the clues.

You said it yourself =) You're going far too deep with these clues. Finding pirates out of the late night television host clue is absolutely delving too deep. I applaud you for taking the time to do all of this research. But each clue matches with a house - I'm willing to bet on that fact. That's not to say that the event won't have Pirates or deal with themes of luck... but... I think you're trying to make the clues match these themes. I doubt that was the intention.

"The midnight hour does not deter me, I always count on Floyd and Nurmi."

Has anyone considered the new Fright Night movie? It's a Dreamworks picture (which has ties to Universal). Vampira (Maila Nurmi) hosted a show called "Fright Night". The "Fright Night Film Festival" is held yearly in Kentucky and somehow has ties to Floyd county. Maybe just a coincidence, but maybe not...

Also, there's Joe Flaherty's, "Count Floyd" from SCTV, but I'm not exactly sure how that fits with "Fright Night". I also dug up some kind of Blue Grass Jamboree in Floyd county that also hosts a Fright Night.

Still, I'm well aware that there are a zillion Fright Night events. But I'm pretty sure only one Maila Nurmi who hosted a show called that.

Each individual clue, so far, is to an individual house. You're over-thinking and trying to force stuff we have already speculated on into the clues that we have been given.

Sorry for giving my opinion. I know next time to keep quite.

Also, what proof do you have that each clue is for an individual house. There is no proof, concrete or otherwise. You and I, have both seen the same things. We have both heard the same things. There is nothing that anyone knows to prove that these clues belong to each house. I have read the speculation just like everyone else. Thus until we see something carved in stone (web site) I say give your opinions all you want.

With that being said, I think clues are meant to cross over one-another. Perhaps maybe the clues were cleverly crafted well after the event was created back in a little trailer on the backlot. Therefore, you have to admitt that there is a possibility that each clue builds off of the other. My opinion simply shows that.

Am I right, I dont know. I guess we will find out in 59 days.

Also, to Lizz, you are right the way I wrote that statement, I too am going to far into the clues. What I really meant was maybe we shouldnt try and connect them to any one house. Maybe I missed something official, but I never heard or saw anything that said 1 clue, 1 house. Thats all I was trying to say. Perhaps it could have been worded differently, I agree with you there.

Last year the clues we were given pertained to individual houses/streets so I think some are following that line of thinking as it pertains to this year and these clues. Also, I think it's common knowledge that some here know more than others/have direct sources and if they are leading people towards a clue to be pertaining towards an individual house, I personally would buy into that theory. But that's just how I see it. YMMV.

This person gets a thumbs up from me. ;)

HHNPicman - You have to realize that not everything is posted on these forums. Sometimes, there are things that cannot be posted. If people are being adamant (especially those who are known to be trusted), perhaps they know something that isn't common knowledge. Feel free to continue to speculate on new ideas - no one was telling you to stop posting or telling you to be quiet. Just perhaps you are ignoring some obvious clues.

The clues are extremely reminiscent to the clues we received last year. It's quite possible that they coming from the same "person" (qualified because we don't know if Emeric was an individual or a group within A&D). All we know is that, last year, each clue was to a house/scarezone. We can safely assume the same thing this year, especially with how straight-forward the clues were last year and how similarly straight-forward they are this year. It's not hard evidence, but it's logic and patience. Everyone is antsy right now because we don't have the information that we normally have (at least most people don't). We can either over-analyze the little information that is being given to us, or we can be patient and clever. And while there is a lot of information on this, and other, boards, how you read the information is even more important then simply looking at what's here and elsewhere.

That said, not everyone sees, reads or hears the same thing. If we did... then we wouldn't be scouring for information.

EDIT - I mention Emeric not because I believe he is our friend. Since they have not made themselves known public, I know it's not worth considering. I reference him only because he gave our clues to us last year.

The 2011 remake of Fright Night will apparently be distributed by the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures group.

Also, did anyone else think of this movie when we started brainstorming about holidays in the Disaster! queue?

http://thankskillingmovie.com/about/the-ultimate-low-budget-experience/

Actually Dreamworks is the studio that made it. Touchstone is the distributor. I just double checked. Not sure who owns what... Otherwise, a house related to late night horror hosts? What else could Nurmi stand for...

Dreamworks is developing it. It's being distributed by Touchstone, which is owned by Disney.

Gotcha. I don't really understand these things. I guess Dreamworks made it, then sold it to Touchstone(Disney). I didn't realize distributors owned rights. Too complicated for me, but worth a shot...

Just think of it like the game industry, with the relationship between Developers and Publishers.

Deter them from what?! What's they're goal that they COUNT on Floyd and Nurni to keep them focused on? Hosting? XD

The midnight hour is usually when a) a creature in human form takes they're original form or B) a nightwalker arises from sleep. And though it wasn't capitalized, I remember The Midnight Hour being a cheesy horror show from the 80s I believe.

A Creature Feature type house would be awesome. I hope there would be a nod to Dr. Paul Bearer.

I'm am incredibly psyched for the idea of a Monster Host Creature Feature type house. It sounds like the midnight hour thing might just refer to the time when many of those types of shows were on, but who knows i'm probably wrong. I can't wait to see what comes next

Interesting :)

Best place to hide something is in plain sight. I am curious as to the next clue.

Plus there are others here that far surpass my mental ability to decipher the clues, so I'll just wait and read what they post.

Do you think we could be joining The Dead Poets Society, Sin?

I've noticed the couplets from the beginning and find it fascinating.

They are not quite iambic pentameter. But it does take some work to achieve the proper cadence and rhythm our mutual friend has achieved.

The metered word is not the easiest route for one to pursue when giving clues.

Is it just a like of poetry or is there more to it?

If each clue alone points to a single house, why can't all the clues brought together point to a theme?

"You get hung up on all the prose, but I'm not surprised. That's how it goes

when people are eager and start to expect mounds of information in every aspect

of every, single, thing that uttered. Yet if you are patient you're bound to discover

that the answer is sitting, right there, in your face. You'd see it if you weren't looking all over the place.

The beauty of poetry, and especially rhyme, is that it establishes tone when it's given the time.

But it does nothing more. It's the words, don't you see, that are the only things in providing meaning.

The only viable thing a clue's rhyming reveals is the intention of wording and how our mutual friend feels.

That is, unless, a house is revealed to be not based on stories but on poetry." ;)

I was already told, here in this thread that I was wrong for thinking that. Kind of kills the fun of the Speculation thread if every thing is dead set.

You guys continue to mystify me. Clearly the poetic aspect is important - but the only notable "horror" poet I can think of is Edgar Allen Poe. Then again, I'm not very learned in poetry, much less poetry of the macabre... but I suppose that is my guess for now. Poe.

Would HHN really have the same rumored house as HOS? I mean HOS has a catacombs house but I didn't think would uni ever sink that low?

What a quaint and curious suggestion...but one would have to be mad to believe it. Stark raven mad, you might say.

Again, what makes you think the rhyming is key? The rhyming is nothing; the words’ important. You see,

Even right now the way that I’m writing belies the words I am saying. I hope you realize

How my current voice, and its only purpose, is to bring what I’m saying into clearer focus.

A rhyme means nothing. It’s simply a way to draw extra attention to what it is that you want to say.

Now onto Poe, that renown Gothic great. Yes, I had heard he was coming, but I've heard nothing of late.

And besides, I can’t really say that I trusted my source. Of course the person I know didn’t fully trust hers.

It is quite likely a Poe-house was pitched before, featuring characters like “Bird” and “Lenore.”

But strictly a poet? For that, Poe wasn’t known. It’s, in fact, mostly stories in the books that you own.

“The Cask…,” “The Fall…,” “The Black Cat,” “The Red Death,” are the stories with scenes that could give a house breadth.

But only Poe’s rhymes in a house? That’s a stretch. In fact, it’s rhetorical, but I’d wager to bet

That off the top of their heads few people can count FIVE of Poe’s poems. And “The Bells,” and “Raven” are out.

So shoe-horning Poe into the rhymes of our friend, I’m fairly certain will only waste time in the end.

And the popular spec of our rival, H-O-S, means a Uni Poe house is right out, I would guess.

However, based upon how current spec goes it’s quite possible both parks will have casinos.

And as far as, “Uni ever sink(ing),” I don’t know if you’ve heard that the Catacombs seen first were in fair Williamsburg.

Granted, ours was the first with the scary Doctors. Yet, being “inspired” by rivals? Yes, it’s happened before.

In the world of Haunted Attractions and Entertainment, there is no "competition" especially when designers, writers, artist, to name a few bounce around from place to place. I have worked events that take place outside of the US with the same names, characters, and locations as some here.

As a matter of fact every year BGT / HOS design team visits USO / HHN and USO / HHN visit BGT / HOS. And it all happens while the GP is screaming their heads off and having fun. At one point or another people from all sides of the Haunted Attractions business have worked with or for someone in a neighboring haunt. So they much like myself don't see it as "sinking low" its more of a study group.

Tell me if Horrorwood sounds familiar? LINK

And then take a look at my portfolio to see who wrote it. LINK I built the maze in 3D for the attraction as a form of Pre-vis.

So you never know who is working where. :)

Legacy, you have misunderstood me.  I am not concerned with the rhyming of words, but interested in the meter and cadence of them.  A rhyme, a poem does not make.  Poetry relies on meter, cadence, rhythm.  It’s the number of syllables in a couplet that matters not if the end words rhyme. Although, they usually do. Or better put….

When it comes to words that rhyme

It oft can take such precious time

To find the words with proper pace

That gives the poem its proper face

The ebb and flow of metered voice

Does not rely on rhyming choice

Instead it needs the words to meet

A certain set o’ syllabic feet

Sin, I could not agree more with your thoughts on haunts and would like to add my own.

Hasn't everyone noticed how similar movie themes seem to come about around the same time?  This is not because movie studios share their ideas and decide to release similar movies all at once.  It’s just part of the creative world.  Certain concepts seem to gain popularity at the same time.  Chalk it up to the string theory and morphic fields.

Kudos to anyone who gets the morphic fields reference.

Allright folks. While the rhyming is amusing let's keep it it on topic.

While I find it unlikely, we do not know if the couplets mean anything or not.

Noted on the rhyming

However, Let's not devolve into a topic on the the finer points of poetry. That can be disputed in a different thread.

Lets hope we have more to speculate soon.
