jrs71985
My only regret is not asking anyone else's name or getting numbers, so many awesome outgoing people there with similar interests. And they enjoyed listening to me blabber about this website and about all I knew of the impending audition. What number were you at the audition? I was
BruinsFan
From what I am reading they are either: A. Loaded from reunion auditions. B. Being very selective. ©. going to be a year with lighter than normal cast. I have a (bad) feeling that you may be correct.
Guest HHNPicMan
I have a (bad) feeling that you may be correct. I am going to agree with you as well. I felt like most people were being turned away on Tuesday, instead of hired. I did notice that many groups of 30 were not hired. Which is still why I am so excited and surprised to make it. Cramer
Wow C_D, didn't realize that that was you. I distinctly remember going through that house with my pregnant ex (not mine, long story, etc ) and the person at the bar (which may very well have been you!) making a comment about how she was knocked up or something...haha. doubledown211
Newbie here and just got cast yesterday, woohoo! I've never been to HHN but I'm incredibly pumped to start scaring and meeting new people. Sorry to those who didn't make it, but keep your chin(s) up and hopefully you get your call soon. I'm a "big guy," and I was curious what roles I could potentially be cast in. Not fat though - 6'2" 230lbs. Some of my friends who worked in the past said I'd be a perfect chainsaw, but I don't think I got cast there as I'm in group 'C'

I believe you mean "performer C," which is the general performer with base pay etc. Has no effect on location or role. Your size is perfect for chainsaw yes, but thats just a general idea for your size. Regardless. Your cast. Welcome to the family.

Some of my friends who worked in the past said I'd be a perfect chainsaw, but I don't think I got cast there as I'm in group 'C' Thats cool. Its funny because I am 5'11, 270lbs. Alot heavier than you. But, I think it may have been because of my shoulders. For example, my stomach can fit into an XL shirt, but I usually where a XXL so my shoulders are not so tight in shirts. I also noticed the the other 2 guys that got cast with me, where tall, not really skinny or fat, and had shaved heads like myself. The guy in HR afterwords doing out little class thingy, was joking that we were the next chainsaw group. Of course, he kept saying that he was only joking. But what was funny is the girls that were with the 3 of us "big" guys were extremely thin and fairly short. I did feel wierd being such a big guy with all of the thin people. But, whatever the role is, I will attempt to live up to expectations. Who knows, hopefully, I can look back 10 years from now and remember my first year as a scareactor. I always love talking to the guys and gals who have been performing at HHN for many years. They tend to be a fun group of people. Which is why I am excited to be joining their team. Cody
It actually seems very odd not to have chainsaws this year; more than just an iconic part of horror, they're an extremely effective way to scare people outdoors. I can't think of the last time a year didn't have street saws.

I can't think of the last time a year didn't have street saws. WHAT?! When I get to HHN, my adrenaline doesn't even begin to start to flow until I hear a chainsaw, and when I smell that two stroke oil it begins to really pump hard. I dunno how I'll react without any chainsaws.
Guest HHNPicMan
There is a distinct lack of "Performer F" this year! R.I.P. Glad I was able to join the Brotherhood! Is it possible that perhaps they are just putting them under "Performer C" this year? C_D I know that you know several chainsaw guys, including yourself of course. By chance, have any of them told you if they have been casted as Performer C or F? I guess if the guys who have been cast for chainsaws the last several years are returning as "Performer C" then either chainsaws are now considered standard performers, or, they flat out will not incorporate chainsaws into the event. Of course, I dont know whether or not chainsaws will return. I havent heard anything either way. However, after hearing TJ and Kim talking about how much of a relationship chainsaws have with HHN, I just cant see them not appearing at all. Now, I understand if they dont have a seperate drill teal walking around, and a scare zone at the same time. But, to not have any chainsaws. I just dont see that happening. But who knows? Maybe they will be there in a different capacity this year..... One can only hope. Does anyone remember being at the VIP sesscions with TJ and Kim? They talked about other objects they considered instead of chainsaws. Who remembers the scary blower? TJ said at one time they looked at every garden/ lawn tool in the book. They said that their finding was that chainsaws have a very noticable and distinctive sound that most people can relate too. Thats when the A&D team said that chainsaws were a permanent part of the event.
Cody
There have been years where a scarezone didn't revolve around chainsaws, but still included them. I think the IOA years like 2004 and 2005 had chainsaws mixed in with other scareactors, as opposed to having a full zone for themselves.

But, the issue is whether or not they are returning at all. As far as everyone knows, all scareactors that have been hired to date, including former scareactors, are being considered "Performer C." According to past scareactors who were chainsaws, they were noted as "Performer F." Thats why I asked C_D that question. If all of the former chainsaws scareacots are coming back this year, but under a different performer title, then either chainsaws will not return at all. Or, Universal has chosen to consider them as a base performer. Like all other acting scareactors under the "Performer C" title.

C_D
Performer J is not chainsaw,, that would be Rat Lady escort. As for the seasoned CDT members of the past, most have been cast, and are not in the streets. Many have turned down the role offered. Of those I know several whom have never been cast as anything except Chainsaw. As stated prior I will not be working the event this year as I am working out of state and will not be able to make auditions.

C_D
A few have gotten street roles, but all as performer C, Uni would not put saws as performer C because of the liability that comes with it.
Legacy
So, it's really looking like there will be no saws in the streets this year? What a sad turn of events that will be. So far our New Era is a house from three years ago, a chainsaw scarezone becoming a house in the Jaws queue, and the elimination of chainsaws in streets? What a sad start to the New Era... It is sad that Chainsaws will most likely not be returning. But, I can only believe that Universal has something better in store, and I for one cant wait to see what it is. I am truly starting to believe that this year will start a brand new era in the Horror Night event. Everytime I turn around something different is occuring this year. At first it was not returning icons. Then came longer houses. Then came changed audition procedures. Now it appears as if the cast size will be smaller than recent years. No doubt that a new era is occuring.
