Legendary Truth: The Wyandot Estate

Can someone give me a idea of what the bed scene is,I was just clueless on that scene. It just look like it was someone under the sheets acting like a ghost?

Thats all I've ever seen. I think it was pretty pathetic. From what I heard that she is supposed to rise out of a hole in the bed...the sheet coming up with her. That would have been scary as hell. But all I ever see is her waving her arms...a ghost in a sheet...then the red lights flash as she is getting angry and all the furniture and objects in the room start to shake.

This is by far my least favorite house. I had such high hopes for it and was very let down. I cannot get past those masks and why every ghost looks the same. Like an old man...or the crazy trumpeters in Spectromagic.

I still cant understand what everyone (including my friends I went with) like this one so much. But I'm going to give this house one last chance when I take another day off next week. I really want to love this house. I have many friends in it and I love the concept, but as of right now I think its the worst house of the year.

I feel like this house has finally come into its own. I really liked it this time. Sure, it's not overky scary like some other ones and it may rely a little too heavily on its highly billed SFX, but it's still a fun little house that you can more-or-less take your time in and enjoy the sceneary. It really does feel like you are traveling in this house as an LT member (don't know how they made this work this time around). I also think it has the best facade of any house this year. That said I still am not digging the glowey masks you guys have to wear....they just don't scream scary to me...sorry. This house makes it into the top tier of houses of the night for me, ranking at #5.

I have to agree with the masks... I think they should have done something a little more subtle with some glow in the dark paint and stuff. But I have to say that if you hit this house at the right time, you can get great scares. My first and second time through this houses was absolutely amazing. I was getting scares left and right. The third time though, I didn't really get any scares at all.

As for the bedroom thing. Timing here, again, is crucial. I also think it depends on the cast as well. Don't remember what cast, but when I went through, the acting on the bed was going crazy and it was pretty awesome. Though, it's not very scary afterwards during the reset time..

I went through this house three times last night. It would have been twice but we had our experience "enhanced" by two severely drunk women the second time through and an Ops was kind enough to let us go through one more time after the two of them had been escorted out.

I believe I have now seen every "trick" in this house and I still really enjoyed it. Not the scariest, but it has a lot going for it. I think Universal took some risk with this house and while the payoff really seems to be hit and miss with the varied reviews, I hope it serves them well to spend more time exploring the possibilities and pushing the limits a little. Not everyone agrees that it worked out this time and that's fair, but in my opinion it really made for something new and different at the event.

I'm not big on this house, mainly because the effects are so timing-based that it's too darned easy to have a bad run through even tho' it's not the scareactors' faults. I do like the one chatty person at the beginning and I love the chair!

Have any of you been to HoS at Busch this year, and if so, have you noticed the similarities in the very beginning? They rethemed Trapped in the Walls to be a paranormal research site and there is equipment set up out front ala Spirit Seekers. I've only seen the first cast there, but the woman manning the equipment is really, really good with the banter. It also has the inflatable walls that HHN is missing this year after having them for the past two years. I wonder if it's coincidence that the beginnings are so similar or if it's a Roddy side-effect.

Okay, I've discovered the best way to go through this house. Have drunk, petrified people in front of you! It's still a meh house for us because we like the ones with all the action (Catacombs, Havoc and Hades) but we always do it anyway because I still like to gape at wall ghost, floor ghost, bed, chair etc. So last night we were behind a couple who had obviously consumed a lot of liquid courage. It was their first house, so we warned them that it was very special effects based and to not assume they wouldn't see much in the others if their timing was bad in this one. We went through and their timing was PERFECT! They got every single scare and special effect, and they were totally freaking out. I wish flip cams were allowed in the houses because it would be a YouTube classic. The only thing they missed was the floor ghost, and that's because they weren't looking down. Last we saw them, they had stopped to buy a blood bag at the exit to fortify themselves for Psycho.

I just have to say that I went through this house with the LAMEST group of people ever last night. I don't expect everyone to scream and yell at every scare but I swear not one single person in the vicinity had any kind of reaction except for my friend and I. I've never been through a house with a less emotional group of people, they all looked miserable. I have to give all the scare-actors credit for trying so hard even when people seem determined to not have any fun!

I just wanted to say that this is one of my favorite houses to hit up. The other night i went with two of my friends and Spoiler Alert we where at the part with the chair and I knew about the chair but they didn't. So I told them that we were on the screen and as they looked at it the chair jumped up and got them by far the funnest thing I've seen this year.

The chair on Team B was always a highlight for me, whether I was being terrorized or watching someone else get attacked.

Okay, so I finally went through this house tonight and honestly, I'm sorry but it sucked. The facade is amazing, and the sets were okay, but the effects in the house seemed to me like a wannabe Disney's Haunted Mansion, but with worse effects. The masks weren't creepy or scary and really took down any fear factor that may have been there. The floor effect was empty so I don't have an opinion on how good or bad it works. The ghost maid was barely noticeable, and when noticed, it didn't look good. The hallway sets were okay, but seriously, it would be kind of hard to make a hallway with cables look bad. The costumes just looked goofy as well; There are plenty of ways to make scareactors look ghostly and what they were going for here failed. I didn't quite understand why in the living room there were white faces hidden behind the black curtains; no lights flashed, they didn't glow, they were just there. The conservatory scene, while it was ok, was too predictable for my taste, but the scareactors worked their roles well. I didn't think the exorcism room looked that great at all; it looked like a random neon painted black clothed scareactor sitting on a square blue light. I guess I enjoyed the dresser levitating, but that's it. I will say I loved the chair guy; Kudos to the costume team and the scareactor for making it work as well as it did. I barely remember the finale if there even was one. This house suffered from a good concept to a poor delivery.

By far the worst house of the event for me.

1.5/5

Okay. you missed one of the best scares then. In the living room with the hidden faces, the faces lit up, engraving the image into your cornea so when you close your eyes you can still see it. Well, anyways, they lit up one by one and each time one lit up there would be a large BOOM. After that was done there was a large clang and a ghost woman popped out of the wall and it happened really fast. so BOOM BOOM BOOM CLANG AAAHHH!!!!

I knew about this scare, and kept trying to get the effect, but nine times through the house and I could never get the full effect. I got half of it once, and it wasn't very strong.

I posted this in the music thread, but more people will see it here.

HHN is over, but if you want to re-live the experience of going through this house, I purchased two of the songs that play in it and uploaded them to youtube so nobody else has to buy them :P

I have to say that I found this house in the middle of great and ok. They did some really nice stuff with the floor and wall ghosts and all the effects, but I got no scares at all. My friend in front of me did one time with the statue ghost at the end in the corner which was great to watch(pretty much collapsed on the floor)! But for me it didnt go all the way
