  4. but.. IDK... what's the point? I'm all for construction photos and pics here and there.. but flipping full on walk throughs? Keep something for a surprise! It's like they know people will go no matter what so we don't care what you take pictures/videos of.. Just open the event early then...

  5. Oh, see I looked at the pictures and didn't realize the Warriors were the ones that looked like they were going to be doing interpretive dances...and the beasts are wearing the potato sack style costumes.

  8. *Begin prayer to the HHN line gods* When going through this house, please for the love of all things holy, do not let me ever get stuck behind a group of teenage girls who repeatedly backup and scream when attempting to go through this final room. I may just have to be the catalyst that shoves them all through it. *End prayer to HHN line gods*

  9. I have to say, the silent hill house is a hell of a lot better then I expected from what I saw on the video. Attractionsmagazine on YouTube has a partial walkthrough with lights-on.

  17. Hmm.. I think it's time to remove myself from this discussion. I don't want to know how anything looks inside these houses until I get there. As a matter of fact, I don't want to see any of the stuff going up in the streets either. I'm a total nerd and a purist, and I want the full experience after I walk thru the doors. Now, AFTER I've been there, I don't mind watching behind the scenes video because the whole thing fascinates me, and I firmly believe I am forced to walk much faster thru the houses than I want to. I know I miss stuff.. so, the videos are great. It's also why I'm so excited about the UMTH and Arcane Tours..

  18. I just watched Jordans walkthroughs of Dead End and Silent Hill (I dont mind being spoiled). Both houses are top notch. Dead End looks like one of the top houses and so does Silent Hill. In my opinion Dead End looks better but I have a higher expectation for Dead End. It looked like the tunnel weve seen in The InBetween, Chucky, Interstellar Terror, etc. is in Dead End masked behind paper like walls.

  19. Apparently Dead End as well... plus they already let people go through Gothic In Fact BTT pretty much has a Walkthrough of silent hill on their tumblr.. but I'm not going to post it.... and videos with the effects and music!... ugh

  20. Couldn't agree more...UNLESS they're just taking The Walking Dead and Silent HIll, the two BIG IP houses, and trying to show the general public (not us obsessed nerds) how they really go all out to bring the experience to life. The Website photos are cool, but they're so processed/instagrammed/photoshopped as to make you wonder if they're real. I think this, the guy (or gal) from Texas who saw the HHN Commercial on TV, the writeup in Game Informer, the GEEK magazine story, etc shows they're going after as many newbies as possible. Makes you wonder how much $$$$ they had to shell out to AMC. From a business perpective, I can understand it and companies "leak" stuff all the time to built consumer interest...but I want to steer clear of it myself! And I'm soooooooooooo glad I'm going the first weekend in Oct before the crowds really start to pick up (echoing your thought that you're scared about the lines this year)! EDIT: Like an idiot, I forgot to Quote JW's post and a bunch of people snuck in before I was done babbling...

  21. The Warrior is the only one I looked at and said "WTF?" What the hell kind of warrior is he? An S&M warrior?

  22. The fact Xanadu and Dance Fever were both referenced in the same sentence made me laugh. Yeah I dont think anyone was expecting this from the Beast SZ. Everyone (including me) was expecting Werewolf like creatures. Then again, weve only seen one costume. The Warrior looks amazing though. Not what I expected (Nordic Dragon type warriors), but still cool.

  24. They wanted to do something similar to that in 2005 where they had ALL the street actors change cast at the front of the park at once. I think it is safe to assume that they are going to have Walking Dead House and Street change cast at the same time and let them have fun in the streets for a minute or two.

  29. I used to ride it to get the pics too (it also makes me sick) but now I like to just walk up the exit ramps instead. I have never had an issue, and if anyone ever does say anything, I'd tell them I was waiting for my family (kids, cousin, etc) to get out of the ride so I can take a pic of them in the exit hallway.

  30. Wow I feel dumb, sorry. But I don't understand why they didn't list it like last year with colors for the dates and the colors representing how long it would be open. I mean in overview it doesn't state how long it is open and I know what HHN is so thus why I didn't bother looking at the FAQ before. Lol. Oh well ... thanks again!

  32. So we will have to Duck and Crouch at some point in this house. Hopefully A&D kept us husky guys in mind when they thought of this concept...

  34. I started to write a mini wall o' text about this, 'cause I love icons, but I'll cut it down into two main reasons: 1. They're creative and original. There is no other haunt in the world where you can meet Jack the Clown, The Director, etc. You can only see them by going to Halloween Horror Nights. And I am often surprised by just how creative they can get with these characters. Back in 2009, when rumors were flying around that they'd be using a theater usher as the icon, I thought "that's dumb, no WAY they'll do that" and well... Same deal with Lady Luck- I know she was created by Marketing, but who would've thought to make a character like that? Not many. 2. I'm one of those fans who becomes very immersed in the storyline for the event. Having an icon helps with that immersion. When I'm there, I feel like I'm in another world, even if that world is just "scary character comes along and takes over a theme park". And learning about the icon before I get there makes me excited to meet them at the event. I still remember my first time walking into Fear Revealed... my heart was racing, and the closer I got to Fear, the faster it went.

  35. It's hard to say exactly what makes me like and want an icon so much. I think it rounds the event off for me having a host of sorts. I like backstory and depth and I always wished that each year the icon would have their own show (like a miniature movie) explaining their motives and methods. Part of the fun in watching shows like Dr Who or the X Files was seeing what new monster or villain would appear each week and I think the same can be said of HHN icons. I think last years Lady Luck was a token gesture that they didn't bother doing much work fleshing out but I'd still rather have her than nothing. I'm hoping that Uni didn't misunderstand the criticism of her last year. People were not complaining about the idea but the way they didn't follow through with much background or effort (do I have to remind you of the masks?). To be honest the more I think about it the more that I'm convinced that marketing wanted her to fail so that they had justification to dump the icon altogether. Poor quality costumes, drab scarezone, unoriginal idea and no real story wasn't ever going to get the fans excited was it? Is it coincidence that this year we have no icon? I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory but I honestly think A&D and marketing are in disagreement over the addition of an icon. Didn't someone say A&D's original icon idea for last year was scrapped by marketing to be replaced by their idea? Anyway, I for one want to see a proper fully rounded out icon next year and I'll be making my view known on the exit poll. For those of you who love the icons too I suggest you do the same.
