Maybe the latter more so because American Horror Story will be starting an entirely new story come October. Honestly I think that Insidious 3 fits the clues too well for it to not be Insidious. However, unless I misread, he never stated that it was an IP, so there is a chance it's an original maze, although I doubt they're planning the original(s) before the IPs. I don't know if you've watched this season of American Horror Story but the entire plot is about tv taking over while the Freak Show is left in the dust. The "usually" is for his annual April 1st post which shouldn't be taken seriously. As for Hollywood, he doesn't give clues often, but when he has they were reliable.
