Scareactor Appreciation

Recommended Posts

Much appreciation to all the scareactors that agreed to let me be photographed with them last night. My last minute visit generated some delightful moments, and I know every minute posing is a minute you're not scaring. So thanks to the actors (and the photographers!) for making it an even more delightful - erm - morning!

The beasts and rat lady escort vampires were on fire in Hollywood. I also want to give a super loud shout out to one of the Reaper Iniquituses (Iniquiti?) there that carries that intimidating sickle. He always takes the time to point me out, stare me down, and generally creep me out. Which is exactly what I want :P It was a blast interacting with you again tonight - even if I don't read sign language! <3 Bump!

Multiple run ins with the Traditionals - foxes and witches and Pumpkinheads, oh myyyyyy.... Thanks for spending all the fun time with us - you all are just the best!

Elvis - I didn't expect to see you again so soon. It was wonderful to see that you hadn't left the building!

My last minute visit to Alice Cooper may have been last minute for them as well! I think I got cast B on the front half, and cast A on the back half. I even got two jocks for the price of one. My jock buddy - what a treat to see you! Ceiling scareactor, X Ray Alice and Showman - I'm so very glad my last minute appearance allowed me to interact with you all one extra time! You all give me such joy in this house. Thank you for all the energy and interaction, the fun, and making every run a complete delight! You are what makes this house my fave.

Thank you all so much for a great HHN 22! It was the first HHN for most of my group (my 2nd HHN) and you really made it a great one.

7-ish pm at the front of the park - Iniquitus, you guys were great! I loved it when one of you started Tebowing and that all of you were doing a great job of scaring & getting photos with people at the same time!

7:30-ish pm at Animal Actors - It was either a Beast or a Traditional with a similar mask (the face looked kinda human with a huge mouth). My sister tried saying hello to yet another scareactor who had ignored us and you came running over yelling "HIIIIII!", both scaring me and making me laugh (I think I might have said hello back or waved in joy or something). We were feeling rather let down that no one had tried to scare us yet and this helped turn things around for us.

8-ish pm at Men in Black - Chainsaw girls, you all rock!!! You have no fear of getting in peoples' personal space and rocked it, bwahahaha.

Sometime between 11 pm & 12 am at Sting Alley - Crawling Warrior, you move fast!!! I had a blast watching you chase people.

12:30 am at Kid Zone - Traditionals, your legion was my group's highlight of the night! Shout-out to the fox mask guy who interacted with my fox hat (you were my favorite scareactor of the night) and tried to lick me, owl mask guy who pointed out that we both had fox things on, and the cat girl & older witch who played with my mom's Krusty the Clown toy. Pumpkinheads were on fire!

1:00 am near The Mummy ride - My first real scare of the night! Kudos to the warrior who snuck up on me while I was babbling away to my group ;) .

Throughout the night at Disaster - This was my mom's first HHN & she really enjoyed the walker guy who kept coming up to her and creeping her out by standing there and staring at her each time we went through!

1:30 am at Men in Black - My group loved you Traditionals so much that we had to find you again before leaving. Pumpkin head with the tan clothes & shaker can, you did an excellent job of scaring myself & some other members of my group! And we also had a great time again with the fox guy & the older witch.

If it helps to figure out who I'm giving appreciation to, I was wearing my black & neon green skeleton shirt, HHN 2012 hoodie, and I had lots of green hair streaks. Also had an orange fox hat on when around the Traditionals.

Vampires in kidzone around 11- the vampire in the leadpord print collar sniffed my wife and said "i like this one!" he then asked me her name, which I gladly volunteered. Within 5 seconds there were six vampires right in her face-"hi jen!" "can I bite you jen?" "are we making you uncomfortable jen". They didn't let up for a good 5 minutes. It was epic. I swear she had 2/3rds of the horde in her face for half their set. If any of you read this, I want you to know that while you may not have drained her blood, you won her heart.

Fox girl story time!

so my mom and I went through the forest looking for a fox. we soon found her and she walked right by us. i said, " fox girl, fox girl wait! we have candy."

she stopped and truned to us and came back. i reached in the walker and pulled out 1 piece of carmel taffy. she went to take it then stopped and put her arm back down. she moved her fox mask up and said "is it poisen?" no we said back. we gave it to her and she flipped, ran over to the local op and gave it to her. she then came back and said; " where is the rest?" I then pulled out five other peices of candy, some carmel taffy and hard candy. As I did a girl with a chicken mask came over and said "candy?" Fox gril blocked her off and said "no, this is my candy!" we then gave her the rest of the candy and she took it to the op.

so yeah. it was a fun experince, she still tried to scare us. she really deserves a award.

I know many think quite highly of me, but I am hardly perfect.

Sometimes Dr. Jimmy makes mistakes. Sometimes I make a BIG mistake.

I have reported here earlier about my many encounters with the wonderful fox-masked girl, to be specific the one with the dark brown or black hair. From other's encounters with her, I have learned she is using a character name of "Rosie".

I had not seen her for a few days since she last stormed off when I had failed to notice her watching me eat at the Monster's Cafe.

Last night about 1:30 AM or so I was heading down Hollywood Blvd with BSquare near Mel's when I was confronted by the Fox Girl standing in the dark with the same crossed arms pose that I had seen before.

I asked her "Are you still mad at me?" She nodded.

I offered her a piece of candy in atonement "I'm sorry Rosie, would you like some candy?" She recoiled and just glared at me.

Slowly she reached up and pulled her pig-tails out of the shadows into the light.... they were light brown with blonde highlights!!!!

I gasped and sputtered to Bruce, "oh my God the wrong hair color that's the other Fox Gi-"

Before I could get the rest of the sentence out she exploded:

HOW RUDE!!!!!!!

I think I may be doomed.

To the vampire lady in the white dress with her feather, you have such amazing energy and we always enjoy the interactions, and last night you made my husband's year of HHN. In the smoking area in Central Park, he loved the attention and "conversation (snarl snarl)" as you sat on the bench with him. (Especially when it appeared you told him he was talking too much LOL). You kindly submitted to a photo.....Then to watch you snarling and scaring away in rare form a few minutes later. Amazing. Thank you!

Not me, but someone else on my cast: Beast scared a young man with a beer near the Mel's crypt, and he literally flew backwards off his feet (think a bad guy in an 80s movie getting shot) and sent his beer flying all over himself.

between 8:15 and 8:30 by MIB, a prisoner was taking a picture with 2 guests and another prisoner and mentioned my "HHNRumors" shirt. maybe someone on here?

Silent Hill(5:55/6:05) red nurse in the beginning never fails to scare the shit out of me. definitely the best actor in that house, i think.

Gothic(6:15/6:25) first gargoyle on the right of the house. i forgot you were in the second opening(closest to the nest room's door) and got me good. ceiling scare in the cathedral scene got me both trips.

House of Horrors(7:25/8:15) FINALLY saw the charging frank scene. very cool. Wolfman on the right got me pretty good. Dracula(and his brides) got me real good.

I went on Friday night with some newbies who thoroughly enjoyed the event, mostly in part to the amazing scareactors. I also brought my dad and uncle, and met up with Justin, Kathy, and some other friends in the park. (A party of five quickly turned into a party of twelve - happy birthday, Justin!) It was a great night with great memories. Thank you!

As I was more interested in watching you all scare my new attendees, I personally didn't get many scares, but I still have a few thank yous in order . . .

Rat Lady Escorts - you are great. One of them sat down with us at Mel's while we were eating and simply stared at us without blinking. After about two minutes of nothing but staring (and not blinking), he turned salt and pepper shakers upside down and walked away, leaving us laughing. He returned a few minutes later and knocked them over (since we righted them). We then thought it would be funny to stack four of them on top of each other. He saw the salt and pepper tower from the street and began walking towards us when he op signaled the end of shift call. He seemed quite upset that we were getting the last laugh. He glared at us the whole way off set. Well . . . we returned to Mel's to meet up with our entire group later that night and guess who was there . . . and he was back with a vengence! Thank you for making our night!

Traditionals - always a pleasure.

- Fox-girl: thanks for taking Justin's candy, putting it in your mouth (fully wrapped, of course) and later spitting it all out in your apron. Then, to offer it to your witch friend was classic. You then saw the chocolate-chip cookie that I was carrying and started jumping up and down since you hadn't been offered a cookie yet. I told you that I would give it to you if you scared to crap out of my newbie friend who was standing next to the Alice Cooper entrance. Let's just say that you deserved the cookie - great job creeping around the signage and the bushes to give her a great, memorable scare from behind!

- Fox-boy: thanks, as always, for the interactions. Oh, and thanks for making my newbie feel welcome at HHN! You certaintly gave her the creepiest and most uncomfortable feeling of the night by viciously attacking her over and over again. I can always count on you - I'll see you on Halloween night!

The Walking Dead - I missed my robot AGAIN! I even called for you both times through the house. I am DETERMINED to see you on Halloween niight!

Gothic - always the best house of the night.

- I want to thank our amazing bell ringers on Friday night for not just providing amazing scares, but also for your concern. I'm not sure which cast we had at the time, but since all four of you are here, I know two of you were involved. The group in front of us thought it was funny to grab the ropes and swing them, toss them, and throw them every which way. The ropes ended up backfiring into my dad's face and smashed into his glasses. Luckily they didn't break (since Universal chooses smart materials for their props), but it did hurt his nose since he doesn't have a great bridge. The two bell ringers noticed this play out before I did and were already in front of him asking him if he was okay. Thank you! Why tell the story? To further support the on-going discussion in the Discussion thread that supports how much the scareactors love scaring, but that safety and concern is still the foremost priority at the event.

To everyone else . . . my newbie friend is a screamer - thanks for making this a very memorable night for us. She screamed constantly and we laughed every time. I already wrote too much, but know that there are many more great moments of the night.

See you all on 10/31 for one final run!!

I think there is more confusion. I can tell you that the one with the black pig tails IS IN FACT ROSIE. I believe you are having great interactions with both. But Rosie is the one with the black pigtails.

I was the one on the left and I remember that happening clearly. I love doing what I do and hate seeing someone get hurt because of somebody else's stupidity. I'm glad he seemed to be okay. Safety is our #1 concern. Both for our guests and ourselves. Thank you for the kind words

Memories from last night-

For some reason they let regular guests in before releasing the stay and screamers inNY, so we decided to spend the whole night in the streets. Fox girl was in the mixed horde tonight, she ran up and yelled candy, I said I had some and started digging in my backpack for it, she noticed her horde was moving on and she started jumping up and down screaming "quickly quickly"! Later we saw som lowlifes teasing her and she screams "stranger danger"! and bolts.

Warriors-one of our favorites who wasnt there on friday decided to make up for lost time by getting us 5 different times-I know because he counted them off on his fingers each time he got us:)

Beasts-black cloak with green shawl running and jumping around like a rabid squirrel,he also keeps sniffing my wife, which is wierd but hilarious. Our vampires from Friday that learned Jen's name got her even worse last night, also managed to tell her name to 2 other hordes while doing a shift change near horror make up. 3 straight hordes screaming "jeeeeeeen!"-classic. November 1st is gonna suck so bad :(

Forgot one! My wife gave the owl some candy, he holds it up in the air and does the happy dance-then he notices her tardis hat. He starts hoo-ing the doctor who theme song, and then does a weeping angel inpression. I believe this makes him the world's first owl sailor doctor who fan :)

All Owls are Doctor Who fans, that's why they always say "Who".

OK last night awesomeness in scareacting.

All in Alice Cooper at about 11:00 Pm were very good. I appreciated the shout outs from the Psych patient, the attention from the Jock under the bleachers as well as the little Cheerleader and the Showman at the end.

All in House of Horrors just before 11:00PM you were top notch as usual.

Traditionals in both casts were in good form last night. Both Rosie and her "evil twin", the cat masked ballerina who set me up for a scare, the chicken girl and chicken boy and a goblin were quite remarkable. Much love to you all.
