I had a lot of great shots tonight, but most were ruined due to being out of focus. Still trying to get used to manual focus, but you've gotta be quick. Here's some from 7 during the early evening and a few others. I really like the last one in this set, the action from the kids running beset by the calm eeriness of the actress. I'll probably spend most of next Saturday in Grown Evil because I've yet to get anything in there. Also going to borrow a 50mm from a friend for some more portraiture shots as this 35mm is pretty restricting, and I don't want to get too close to the actors.

I need some advice from serious photographers. I got a Nikon D3000 a few months ago, and I love it. It takes great pictures. I'm only going to be at HHN for one night, and I'm contemplating taking it with me to get some nice quality pictures for everyone, and myself. But I don't know if I should, any advice?

If you're wanting tips on taking HHN photos, I'd recommend reading through There are a lot of great tips in that thread for HHN photography.

Thanks, Z. I don't have any magic secrets and many of the photographers on this site are much more technically knowledgeable than I am.

That being said, I've found that patience is key. If you see an angle that you think might make a good photo, spend some time waiting for it. It'll happen eventually. And lastly, take a LOT of photos. I typically take between 200 and 450 photos PER NIGHT. Most of them aren't anything special, but you do eventually get some gems.

haha, W. Wilson. I'll take that information and use it this week. I shoot and shoot till my card is empty cause you never know when you have a hit photo. I tend to take a step back and look for interesting angles.

If you see me in any of the zones. Feel free to say Hi. I tend to always be the one taking photos.
