  1. Sorry for my absence everyone, I was on vacation after opening weekend and just came home last night! I am currently compiling song tracks tagged from both on here and other sources! May need a few days to a week to catch up, but I will get it up ASAP! Sorry for the inconvenience and not being on as much! I am home now and can get to work on the music! Thank you all for the help and patience!

  2. A couple of weeks back, they filled a couple of permits to build a new warehouse/parade building as the newest house locations. From what I’ve heard, this could be the last year for the sprung tents at Orlando before they move to Hollywood, which I actually find this very interesting. If they do a sequel or two of the houses from previous years that were over there, then they could do a send off kind of moment cause why not?

  3. Almost all of the permits are here, and the best thing about them is there are new codenames for the houses as the first part of the clues! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kD-hQsh8Z6_dBGS-b_bLP6CdpfJTg1MbhtEvYZwyjPc

  4. These are some confusing but really interesting permits. From what I’m hearing, a staggered operations are taking place at The Simpsons Ride (which will be on the chopping blocks soon) like what Back To The Future had before the closure and replacement. Looks like that attraction might be leaving sooner than what I’m expecting, since it had seen better days, but it’d crazy if they gut everything in there for an eleventh house even though that’s not very realistic. If that’s not the case, then they’re probably gonna install another parade building whether they could expand it or fill in for the sprung tents. https://fxtwitter.com/hnnightmares/status/1736881698057355446?s=46&t=2J2KPQJiV5SqYy9HPrqePg

  6. I hope some sort of official compilation ends up being made - there's a couple songs from this year I still haven't been able to identify, and having them provided directly by Universal would be great!

  11. I can see a week by week announcement, starting with Stranger Things for this time, the Exorcist for the next week, and Monsters for the end of the month that not only lines well but also roll us right into Midsummer Scream with one of the Hollywood originals over there. Then in August, we get the final spec map update and later a full dump of originals, zones, and shows to finalize the full lineup.

  12. Wouldn’t hold my breath on the 4-zone limit yet until the next spec map update. The New York Waterfront behind the Sting Alley where the Klownz were retain the total to 5.

  13. Now there are some talks going on about the scarezones being reduced to four, meaning the the now Minions Land zone won’t be having it cause that particular IP with its own areas at other parks is never used for the event.

  18. That sounds about right. Hopefully tomorrow or Thursday afternoon is our next house announcement. I’m guessing the rumored Phantom of the Opera house.

  19. Here are some writing translations. “Uncover The Truth” “The Signs Are Everywhere” “Hiding In Plain Sight” “Join The Quest For The Truth” ”If You Dare” “See You In The Fog” They’re all just teasers, but Universal’s HHN pages on all the Twitters and Facebooks are letting us know that another house announcement is coming real soon.

  20. Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I found a new song for the playlist, and for the HHN 19 playlist - This instrumental version of the song played in the deli scene in Scarey, and also the original version of the scene from 2009. Honestly surprised it hadn't been identified before!

  21. With 32 (along with the recently discontinued Halloween Nightmare Fuel) now officially over, it’s that time again for us to chat about next year’s event. What IP’s you think are coming the most right now? What original concepts do you wanna see at the event. Will there ever be another icon to tie into the HHN like Dr. Oddfellow? Will they bring back Bill & Ted? So many questions to say our own thoughts and opinions. It’s not just part of the fan community, it’s culture!

  22. At last! My arm is complete again! This is my very first take of doing a haunted house concept that is both based on a musical play and a movie. Sweeney Todd is another piece I’m proud of writing; I was taking all the theatrical stuff to my highest level and it even brought me to another area. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RIppLGlcjD8WR8IFSjisxe9WlxLTKLc-QtzjiiN2RnU/edit

  23. Hey everyone! Just got another new house concept done that took me more than a week, which is also music-related and this was one of the most requested ideas from readers on Discord. Just like what I did with Nine Inch Nails’ The Downward, I also gave My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade a house treatment that is lyrically about death and the reflection of life. I was inspired by one interpretation that was written by one fan on Reddit at the band’s official page, which made it more easier for me to adapt, translate, re-listen to the music, and understand the lyrics more with a bit of my own take to offer a unique experience done by a fan like myself for an offering that will blow y’all away. This isn’t like any other concepts I had done before, but man I am so proud of myself for all the hard work, effort, and inspiration. I hope you guys enjoy my newest piece! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Qgxo48eEFXbP_ZPDhTXQSiDFnqdYhU1oMK8OdYECO78/edit

  24. With Christmas over until this December, I’m right now working on the themed event concept of Halloween Horror Nights: Face The Music, starting with the main doc first by adding a premise and icon backstory, an overlay for the Archway, music playlist, and original music compositions. Could add more if necessary, but I wanna make sure it looks done enough to show y’all what it looks like so far before it’s done again. I’ll also give my old concepts a cast update as well for more details, additions, and better quality of writing, but it could take for Face The Music to be similarly on par with Memories In Darkness and Jungles of Fear cause I’ll be very busy at work to remodel at my job other than my full house family, which are always a top priority.

  25. I was able to give my very first music house concept a vast update for more details, additions, and better quality of writing right before Thanksgiving kick in. The reason for this was for me to get ready for the next event themed concept I’ll work on next year after Christmas called Face The Music with a Conductor as an icon, which I’ve already thought of a full name for him. His backstory will be first for this, then I’ll make some new zones and houses with the best variety I could branch out while I’ll still give some old concepts a vast update. https://docs.google.com/document/d/11GMMubevP6-SnNok3l7PTM5j-o_5qg3fV9dKenp_baE/edit

  26. @Sinfear@DocNiktMarr Hey everyone! After MONTHS of researching, writing, experimenting, adding, constructing, editing, updating, improving, layering, and whatever I was doing with my second themed event concept of Halloween Horror Nights to capture the essence and bring a breath of fresh air at my best effort as fan content while I was simultaneously breaking the cliches and embracing the tropes of the horror genre, I can finally say that it looks done enough to show y’all this big package called Jungles of Fear. It’s something I was working on before one of this year’s scare-zones was announced, and I probably started it around maybe late January or early February at the earliest. I even included some writer’s notes to avoid not only some questions, but also to make sure no one gets confused and to prevent any confrontations and negative bad behaviors for some good discussions about this. I took a step further on the aesthetic inspired by not only some of the fan demands and suggestions on Discord and elsewhere who wanted to see more of it aesthetically, but also the myths, the folktales, the movies, the cryptids, literature, some random stuff, original thoughts, previously done houses and zones that goes well with certain vibes to fit this, and most occasionally video games with the total of 14 houses, 10 original music compositions, 7 exclusive themed costumes as merchandise, 6 zones, 6 food booths, 5 roaming hordes, 5 rides, 2 shows, 2 overlay experiences, one tribute store, and one icon character for one big firing event. I know what you’re thinking, the totals are ridiculously too massive, and there’s no way they could do that in reality, especially with today’s level of crowds, which I get it a hundred percent, but I wanted to make sure the variety is there, so it can be immersive and not too repetitive while keeping the icon aspects as the most represented part of it other than doing a cohesive take. Creatively, I wasn’t overthinking too much, and virtually everything is the same in terms of theming, but they’re all unique in terms of occurrence, style and setting. If this were to happen now in most fashion, it would be a big creative risk to take. As for the event icon for this, I didn’t create a new character from scratch nor did I felt the need to and instead pulled out one from the public domain for a horror treatment and a redo that has the creative potential as its own version(s). It’s obvious, but it thematically makes sense and since some of you guys read much of my haunted house concepts here on this site, I went with Mowgli from the Jungle Book to play the icon role for this, and this particular character is a fitting choice for this concept than what anybody would think more so than say Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz or Snow White while leaning on the original stories by Rudyard Kipling than the Disney adaptations and taking inspirations from the Hindu lore and the Indian culture for an authentic touch in a fictional way. At Orlando, Universal had used a public domain character before to be on the top figure statues with the famous Urban Legend Bloody Mary, which was the inspiration of my decision. Unfortunately, they can’t reuse her again at some point in the future for some weird copyright reason, so I thought to myself “What if they went with an alternative instead to represent the PM category?” Got several more themed concepts that I could try in the next few years. I wanna try out many different music-related concepts along with the Slasher Horror sub-genre, and I also want to take a step further in Japan and India, since they’re the most represented countries in my own work of material. Could I use another character from the public domain as an icon? Maybe so, but it depends which one would work well for another overall theme like let’s say if I made my own version of Mulan for a horror treatment and everything is related to China and Hercules for a Greek themed event as another example. But in the meantime, I’ll be taking a break for the most part until Christmas is officially over in January. I hope you guys enjoyed my newest HHN themed event concept of mine, thank you so much for having the time to read this, and lemme know your thoughts. Tell me your favorites, what do you like about this idea, your questions that I could answer for y’all, and what I need to improve with this. The event may be over until next year, but with this on paper, I can officially start the opening that goes on everyday for you to read at any time you’re in and anywhere you’re at. I now welcome you to Halloween Horror Nights: Jungles of Fear! *Cuts the ribbon with a giant scissor* Happy Haunts! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Kvq-FCB3lBprkMi0Bx6XuZEij01bIq57Xq6YVh_9Buo/edit

  31. Thanks! I figured they would be scary and harmful in person if they had never went extinct. Gonna give one of my old house concepts an update, but it’ll probably be a slow pace, since I’ll be heading back to Orlando for Horror Nights next week. Then I’ll make one more house to complete the total, give two more old ones an update, and my Jungles of Fear themed event will be complete. Could take months, but it’ll be worth the time to make a well thought out idea.

  32. Here’s something I wanna ask y’all: In your opinion, which of the houses and zones will most likely win the “Of The Year” titles? House wise, I’m rooting for the Dueling Dragons, and I’m hoping that not only the advancements are there for what I want, but also does well as an innovative game changer. Same goes with Chucky IP wise. And as for zones, Jungle of Doom could do very well for a good variety of animal characters if they’re unpredictable. If not, then maybe Dark Zodiacs.

  37. Here are some details! "On both coasts, the haunted houses "will propel guests into a world of carnage and mayhem as they follow in the footsteps of the game's protagonists, Joel and Ellie, who endure a brutal journey in a world overtaken by a fungal virus that turns humans into various forms of a new threat known as the Infected," per a press release. Along the way, guests will encounter fearsome foes from the games, including runners, stalkers, and clickers, and will also stare down hostile human adversaries. Attendees will experience other locations from the games as well, like the Hotel Grand and subterranean tunnels. "We are excited to bring The Last of Us to life in a terrifying haunted house that is true to the spirit of this popular video game featuring our heroes, Joel and Ellie, clickers and more," said Lora Sauls, Assistant Director, Creative Development and Show Direction at Universal Orlando, in a statement. John Murdy, HHN's EP, added: "The world inside the game offers a multitude of suspenseful and horrifying opportunities to provide guests with a one-of-a-kind experience that can only be found at Halloween Horror Nights."" https://ew.com/amusement-parks/universal-halloween-horror-nights-last-of-us-haunted-house/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly_entertainmentweekly&utm_content=manual&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=648b3694ad70cc00013f0738 And the reveal trailer for those who had never seen it yet.

  38. And could be a double win for us in terms of personal preferences when it comes to certain themes. You want more snow-related things while I want more jungle-related things. On the first spec map, an original concept Krampus house was rumored, but never went through the second, so I’m kinda wondering that we might get something related to that as a zone. As for the rumored jungle zone, there’s a lot possible themes they could choose from like an ancient curse, a Scary Tales-esque Jungle Book with a Hindu lore spin, a Tarzan theme that may revolve around La who is a sorta lesser known character from the books, and at the craziest, they could do Jurassic Park again. These are all some guesses of mine, but you might have your own take it.

  39. Just made a new zone idea inspired by the modern Australian hoax and folklore called the Bear Drops or Drop Bears (either way you wanna call it) for the New York Waterfront as a location for a bit of a beach vibe. Was thinking of doing a total of five zones for my Jungles of Fear event theme, but I’m pumping it to six, so I can represent Australia in some form. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LUCkcPTndGeoV-wlzare3cd9iTMYVzg9x2BM2-vxy4g/edit

  40. I don't think a horrors of blumhouse with Fnaf is the best idea. That compilation will probably ruin the maze experience as a whole. Fnaf deserves to get the stand alone maze experience.

  43. Some thoughts on what’s rumored so far. Demon Slayer: Animation in general is a very challenging medium to translate into a haunted house. But if it turns out to true whether if it works by execution or not, It’d still be massive and crowd-pleasing for newer attendees (See the Weeknd). The Last of Us: I’m guessing they’re having trouble getting the rights of the TV series, and going with the games instead as a back up. I think that’d be more incredible and (no pun intended) infected. Universal Monsters In Paris: I’m hoping it’s only the Phantom of The Opera and the Hunchback of The Notre Dome as a mash up. At this rate, Dracula is the most overrepresented in recent years, and it’d be too force to bring him back. Medieval House: This is interesting cause it sounds a lot like it coulda happened years ago but surprisingly didn’t. There’s a lot of things you could do with that. The Devil Emoji: This one is rumored to be a music themed house inspired by Blues legend Robert Johnson who is on the 27 Club list and the urban legend story about him selling his soul to the devil. The Exorcist: See my previous post. Circus tent with smoke: Clowns spreading out with laughing gas? The town with a church: I’m hoping for a proper witch house unlike last year. Top Secret: I’m hoping for something that is genuinely exciting and interesting rather another Blumhouse compilation.

  44. I'm not against the idea of a haunted house based off of Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss, unlikely as it is. It'd just take a lot of effort to transition the cartoon characters and environments to a 3D stage, especially since one of the shows hasn't gotten a season out yet. I'd probably have either houses' entrance be a building, IMP headquarters for Helluva Boss or Happy/Hazbin Hotel for... yeah. Both houses would explore Hell outside of their respective buildings, although Boss would also feature some of the hit jobs on the mortal realm. And it'd also be unlikely that they would share a house, because technically the shows have different owners with Hotel being picked up by a channel. I haven't seen enough of the series to plan a house for either.

  45. Thanks! I thought it’d be fun to do house inspired by an anime series for myself. The rest of my house ideas are also on Google Docs, and I’m working on my next one right now. https://docs.google.com/document/d/11VKaDeRSk25dkj5ZLq_iICYPJF5YgbeIGgbQ501ogiE/edit https://docs.google.com/document/d/11GMMubevP6-SnNok3l7PTM5j-o_5qg3fV9dKenp_baE/edit https://docs.google.com/document/d/10rSGZ1xD3zZpCownYi1wB8DrKtLR0qyCUtESdLRPA1o/edit

  46. back at hhn they had a house in 1995 called universal house of horrors. it was basically a duel run haunted house with two sides. classics and modern, the house was popular enough to have a few sequels. 1995 universal house of horrors 1996 universals new house of horrors. a version that replaced the modern movies with real life serial killers like jack the ripper. 1997 universals museum of horrors 1998 museum of horror; chamber of horrors. museum of horror, unnatural history 1999 universal's creature feature in 3d. don't know if it counts but the theme is similar. if anyone remembers these mazes and what some of these rooms were that would be amazing.

  49. I'm on the same boat as the people that want a clean slate. But if I had to choose houses to come back for sequels, Dark Torment, and Cold Blind Terror would be my choices.

  50. Back in the year 2000 we had a house which was partially based on the seven sins: Dark Torment. After dieing in an Earthquake you walked down through he levels of Hell and saw sinners punished for these. But, we also were encouraged by the Event itself (implicitly) to indulge all these sins! Pride: by showing off beads we caught from the parade. Lust: by ogling the hot girls and guys used as "distraction scares" and also in parade and B&T. Envy: by fuming over those who had express passes. Greed: by scrambling after doubloon tossed from the parade. Gluttony: turkey legs. Sloth: they set up bars so you could buy drinks without even getting out of line. Wrath: from waiting in line too long. Of course now the absence of the parade takes away half the temptations to these delightful vices.
