Was simply just voicing an opinion. I'm simply saying that last years were simple and maybe we'll see something more on the elaborate side this year. It appears we already are. I know we've had nice facades in the past, I was just referring to last years'. We haven't had 7 houses in a while though is my point, who's to say that because of that, we might not see a little more effort put into other areas. We had nice facades with 8 houses, so surely we can have nice facades as well with 7..whether it's a direct result of one less house or not....that's all I'm saying...

It is definite. The Alice Cooper facade concept art says "Sprung Tent 1", which is the sprung tent closest to Simpsons. The facade was covered with a black tarp so that way the Alice Cooper house could remain a secret until they announced it.

Sprung Tent 2's facade is flashy and Vegas-like... But can only be viewed from the side at this time.

I'm going blind in my old age and the list of houses from way back when that everybody hinted at are 100% true so far, so I'm not doubting anything. Just curious, what exactly is in this photo? I see the "red star thingie" that I'm assuming is part of the rumoured Welcome to Las Vegas sign...but I keep reading comments, here and elsewhere about it looking "All Vegas-ie and like the Strip" and am having trouble wrapping my head around what is in the photo.

I'm actually here at the park now, from the looks of it there appears to be the "Welcome to Vegas" sign but it's low on the ground, maybe to look like it fell down? Then there appears to be bright orange barrels stacked about 20 ft high creating a wall...the pathway into the house appears to be between the sign and the barrels...from this angel though, that's all I can really see...

THANKS, that makes perfect sense and I couldn't figure out why the sign was like that...and I was assuming the barrels were just stuff for the house and not part of the street. But, if it's some post-apocoalypic Vegas or something it would make perfect sense.

To paraphrase Alanis Morrisette, "Isn't it Ironic? Don'tcha Think?"

I KNOW I'm not the first to make this post, so consider this this me "seconding" that previous post (too lazy to look all the previous posts to quote it).

Last year we were all POSITIVE there would at least be a Casino house last year with the whole Lady Luck theme...and now this year, thanks to Penn & Teller of all people, we are finally getting a Casino.

Anybody want to place any odds on the (un)likely chance we'll see a Lady Luck cameo in the house?

EDIT: Fixing some of my stupid typos

I never once said more money but simply implied that more EFFORT would be put into the event in one way or another. Being down a house, I can only assume, opens up more opportunity for A&D to put a little more time into other areas of the park. I'd retract that idea if it wasn't for the sheer fact that our tent house facades appear to be much better than last years. Be it a direct cause of being down a house or not, I think it's perfectly acceptable for me to assume and wish that. I really don't think it's hurting anyone for me to have that opinion...honestly...

^I was saying this the other day, don't remember who with... but I think it would a nice hilarious inside joke from A&D to have Lady Luck doing cameos in the house, but as the victim. I personally liked her as an icon (just not her "scary" side, that was crap). But it would be amusing to see her getting sawed in half, stabbing, slicing & whatever other "tricks" P&T might do. But we have to remember this house is "rumored" to be in 3D, so its hard to determine what type of illusion approach we will see.

However... this is best suited for the speculation thread rather than in here...

Anything scarezone related usually appears near the sprung tents, but seeing as they won't be starting street construction for at least another three weeks I wouldn't expect to see anything. Then of course you have the whole issue of there not being normal fully themed scarezones this year (except for at least Central Park).

The only house that isn't "finished" is the one located in B79 (parade building), but it is unlikely you will see anything for it since it is in a backstage area tucked away from the in-park public viewing areas.

Well that new photo of the Vegas sign outside sprung tent is much better. All I could see on the last one was foliage it was like looking at one of those magic 3D pictures. Hmmmm maybe that's where the 3D rumour came from lol. That puts any doubt at rest, the house definitely has something to do with Vegas so if it is indeed P&T I wonder what the connection is. I can't just see it being a link to them being performers at Las Vegas there has to be more to it than that.

No. The facade looks to be back in its original location as the first 5 (2006-2010) Sprung Tent 2 houses.

. Oh Really? Ok...Well when I looked at the new photo it kinda looked like the facade was in the same spot as last year...Which was weird because I swear that it's in it's original spot again this year

EDIT: Correction on the Sprung Tent 2 "Penn & Teller" facade location...

I've been told that the facade/entrance is the same as last year's "Nevermore" house. The angle of the pics make it a little confusing since they were taken from two different locations. So expect to see the same exit as last year as well.

The lack of one house doesn't affect whether or not a house facade is better or not. We've had very well done and somewhat elaborate facades for the Sprung Tents when there were 8 houses. 2006 (Psycho Path), 2007 (The THING: Assimilation), 2008 (The Hallow), 2009 (The Spawning) & 2010 (Havoc) = the best Sprung Tent facades. There were other really good ones too that had extra things to enhance the entrance.

My point is, don't expect to see anything more "elaborate" than usual just because there is one less house.

Well then, I have a question regarding this. Since there are seven houses instead of eight, does that money go Anywhere in the event? Of course people say that they want to use as little money as possible, but i still can't see Universal not applying this somewhere else. i was told not to expect anything more extravagant in scare zones sets or houses, so does that money go to waste?

Does anyone know how much a house costs? Just to see how much money would be lost versus the amount of income for a house? I just want to see why they wouldn't use the money somewhere else...

the cost of haunted houses varies. dead exp. in 2008 was probably cheap...and it rocked!!!! But THE THING last year, looked pretty pricey and i personally thought the house wasn't so good. So in essence, the price of the house doesn't really matter. The only thing that matters is if you have a good, energetic, and dedicated staff...if anything, the extra $ USO isn't spending on an 8th house, can be spent on more scare actors. Perhaps they will spend a little more on training the scare actors. Everyone's looking for whole park scare zone because USO isn't going to build 8 houses...that seems silly. Can't the money be spent (like i said) on training better scare actors and maybe some better crowd control. Not every $ A&D has, has to be used in a house or zone...think outside the box.
