I still plainly see the Dr. Satan stuff, blood stains and hexagons or whatever they're called, I can't think right now haha Until I see them literally ALL gone, then I'll believe that HOTC isn't returning. Grindhousehero13 Posted June 28, 2011 Share Posted June 28, 2011 I still plainly see the Dr. Satan stuff, blood stains and hexagons Hexagon? we finaly gettin that UFC Rob zombie maze we always wanted??? lol sorry couldnt resist but I think you mean Pentagram but yeah Im pretty sure HOTC is returning all the scenes match up to majority of the scenes from last year plus one of the labels clearly reads Ed Gein 1. one of the scenes from HOTC was the Ed Gein room from the Murder ride plus the whole Bunny Gibson/Ed Geins car hint and realy non of those kids look they know who Ed Gein is since they refrenced it to TrT wich would only make sense in the fact that Ed Gein and Principle Wilkins both keep heads in there houses but still long shot and those boards dont look painted over it just looks like there covering the walls with a blank piece of wood there probably just covering something offensive or the Pentagrams although if thats true the're doing a poor job oif it lol and I also came up with this 1. Im convinced now that the saw twin's parents must work ay uni in someway and 2. (Just sayin', I do not doubt that we have a sixth maze though) Anywho, I tried watching a few of HHNPerson's other videos. It gets really hard to watch. He has some pretty good evidence, all in all, BUT you have to sit through like 4 minutes of mumbling and him repeating himself to get 30 seconds of solid information. NOT HATING, as I know he posts here (or at least I could've sworn he did... haven't seen him around lately). I just think if anyone in the history of youtube could benefit from editing the talking sections of their videos, it's him (skipping pauses, cutting out mumbling/stuttering, etc). I used to think that method was annoying when people did it but it's become quite popular and I see now that is useful for some people. It would really clean it up, make it more of a smooth chat and give me less of a headache. Maybe I'm the ONLY one with that complaint and if so, just ignore me but I think it's a necessity for a person broadcasting to either speak well/smoothly or to edit their stuff (I'm an actor, taken plenty of speech classes, done plays and all that so maybe this is why it bugs me). I can see that it's unrehearsed and that's fine to capture the raw emotion and excitment of the conversation but then there's some things that have a complete lack of continuity. For example, talking about the manager in the HOH and the scareactors interacting and what not. This is announced TO BE shown and then decides half way through NOT to show it. Uh... just cut it out. You know as they say = proof or it didn't happen. For now, I dig the SawTwins updates a bit more but I do give major props for showing last year's HOTC in comparison to this year's so it could really show people the hard facts. To either updaters who may read this, keep up the good work. End rant on that. Anyone else find it weird that the boiler has been kinda just been sitting there by itself? And better yet, in public eye out from under the shade just kinda - - there, half painted? Seems odd to me... Oh also I love how you guys just defend your movies... "Scream anyone"... but I must agree with the minority...I absolutely HATE Scream. I thought it was a crappy ass movie and the sequals sucked as well. Not that big fan of a regular dude throwing a black robe and plasic white mask on a going on a killing spree. No offense to anyone, but as it was mentioned, it has other elements to it (including the comedy and porn-esque aspects) that would take away from the horror elements. Unless they were eliminated all together, but that would take a big chunk away from what the fans would recognize. You COULD, in theory, keep the whole comedy aspect. Orlando does it once a year in what we call our "cheese" house. (A dark comedy house, if you will) But I don;'t think Hostel has ENOUGH comedy to build on that. And adding comedy would just make a mockery of the orignial film. And seeing as you'd have to elliminate the whole porn thing all together. ....it jjust turns into a complicatred hooplah. (PS - if those kids are older than 15 than Im the freaking tooth fairy lol jk but seriously....real age aside, they look and sound like they're 12. I don't know what DIMENSION you live in (lmao) but from where I'm from (the US of A) it is WAY MORE likely that a fully functional person that passes off as normal will go on a killing spree instead of an inbred, retard-strong lunatic. Now I find the horrors of the real world to be more scary than some shit that hardly ever happens. Or the fantasy horrors aside from the basic supernatural. And I really thought we would dodge this debate... but SOMEHOW, SOME WAAAAAAAAAAY someone had to truly BELIEVE that the other elements of the film would affect the maze. I don't know guys, are we all still going to the same event anymore? Have we not seen the mazes throughout the last 5 or so years? What makes ANYONE think that ANY OTHER element than the horror element from the films would be included or pushed into the tone of the mazes? Has the scare factor NOT been upped or amped from what the films brought to us into the mazes or something? Because the way I see it - - Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Saw - - those movies are NOT scary. HHN brings the scary OUT of them, making them much more hardcore in presence and hard hitting in startli-zation (had to make up a word there) and boo tactics. We can only assume that even if it were something completely UNSCARY like The Skeleton Key that HHN will drive all the scary moments out of it and add MORE to it to make it a better "living experience" service. Now each of the aforementioned slasher films ALL of have sex and comedy in them and we don't necessarily see that FIT into the mazes. We get some gags like the impaling between two people in bed in Friday the 13th but it's done for a SCARE and NOT for the smut. I really hope everyone fully COMPREHENDS what I am trying to get at here but this silliness like "Scream is more funny than scary" or "losing Hostel's humor or sex elements would make it unrecognizable" is... silliness. Point of the matter is, it doesn't MATTER what other elements are in the films because as long as it's in the GENRE of horror and that's including things that really ARE more funny than scary (Shaun of the Dead, ALL the Child's Play films) it can be RIGHTFULLY done in a maze and be MADE scary and MUCH more scary than what is presented in the films. If we're being honest, the only SCARY movie that HHN has done in the last 5 years is TCM. Everything else is kinda just splatter flicks BUT they made them much scarier for the mazes. What I'm saying is its the comedy that made those movies even slightly worth watching and if you strip that out your not left with much else to set the franchise apart from any other B slasher film. And personally, while a real life slasher is more likely to occur, a big part of Halloween events (and theme parks!) is FANTASY. While sure, a dude in a mask is more realistic, I dont go to these things to see stuff that could happen in real life and it doesn't make the maze any 'scarier'. Yes, but remeber in this DIMESION these are movies...... not reality. Of coarse I would be scared shitless regardless if it is a regular guy, mask or no mask, mongoloid, dog, cat, mouse....whatever, if it is after me trying to kill me then sure... but this is an event.... and supernatural killing force vs. regular dude is always scarier. Freddy, Jason, MBV, SAM... you can shoot, cut-up, burn dismember and they will still come after you. Regular guy.... One in the dome and the movie is over. My thoughts is that the GP (not us crazies), will prefer SAM over Ghost Face because SAM looks soooo much better as an icon, regardless if the GP has ever seen the movie. Take it like an original icon being created, kind of like when the Director & Jack were icons. They weren't from movies but the GP like them. They have that Halloween "look & feel" to them. Who knows maybe it is because we are sooooooo desensitised to horror that we don't see this stuff as scary. I know from personal experience that no maze is scary to me. Ya see, the real world element is what scares me BUT it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that in my life time I'll ever encounter something like that so therefore it scares me much more. Perhaps, to people who have encountered such things even if by a little, they may have become desensitized to it, which is totally understandable so they need their extra kicks some other way so they turn to the more outlandish stuff. So in your world, fantasy may be described as a mutant takeover in the future. As in my world, fantasy may be described as a simple slasher idea. I might think the mutant takeover in the future idea is silly as where you may think it's different and necessary to give the appropriate environment of creepiness. As where you might think the simple slasher idea is silly and simply not enough to deliver what could be truly scary because it's too basic and mordern. And I can recognize this being a former psychology major, so I think HHN needs to have some type of IN BETWEEN there that could please both audiences and I think it rightfully does that as where Knotts, sometimes they go a bit extreme on the fantasy and it turns out looking more silly than anything because their budget simply can't make it what it could be. Grindhousehero13 Posted June 28, 2011 Share Posted June 28, 2011 Im gonna have to agree with Trevler because to me although I personaly would enjoy a scream maze but over the other choices I rather have something else you want to be taken out of your element, not just be scared because like I said before if someone pops out at you with a knife your gonna jump even if its justin Beiber and come on my 3 year old niece can take on beiber with knife but its still gonna freak me out if he came out of a secret door suddenly but at this point I rather have both enviroment and scares then just scares this is why I wasnt too excited when we first heard about a Halloween maze because so far we been taken to a Dream world, Rural Texas, a secret industrial lair, A haunted camp site, a old mining town, the home of a psychotic family of hicks and the secret tunnles of a urban legend, a doll factory/Anciant Castle lol, and a insane Asylum, with Halloween and scream there just Suburban nieghborhoods, not saying that cant be scary but I rather trick r treat which has yes a suburban neighborhood but more then that A Celebration in the heart of a town, sleezy back allys, Warewolf filled woods, and a zombie infested rock quarry, Evil Dead which has a cabin, mid evil graveyards and a castle or even the thing which takes place in the arttic. at least thats how I see it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
