HHN XXI Speculation II

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking what's more likely to happen is once the reveal is done, there will be a second part to each game, where when you win that you get the other half of the chip and a preview for the house. Because right now, it's a bunch or random stuff you do for no reason. (you make the connections in the S&S game, but for what? You turn the TVs on, what will you end up watching? You open the crypt doors, what's inside?) I feel like there's almost a "part 2" coming for each game, tying them into the theme of the house it represents.

Each game so far has had multiple choices at the start of it, right? Maybe as the time goes the other options wont just make you lose tokens and will open to the other half of the game which would fill the other half of the chip?

Two things, first nobody seems to have mentioned it here yet, but the game for our War House was not called Tank You as I and others predicted, but rather Incoming! This may be because Tank You was actually the name for the audio cue of war sounds used during the game, just as Bluray was for the audio cue for the game now known as The Keys.

So it may be then that when the game for the House in the Parade Building pops up, hopefully in the next couple of days, it may not actually be called Loose Cannon as we have thought.

Secondly, about the new video, First Observation: It's in color!!! What does this mean? Are we moving forward in time from the era of B&W to color???

We now see a victim strapped to the table with a horseshoe mark on his head, he has clearly been brained by a supposedly "lucky" object, proven most unlucky for him. One can also see the large roulette "Wheel of Fortune" behind him as well. It looks as if it contains black and red cards on it... hmmmmmmm.

Looking at the video, I wonder if this means we'll be getting a Wild West-themed house? I don't know much about casinos in the old west, but I think they had those back then. That victim looked like he could have been from a western period and he was killed with a genuine horseshoe...which (I don't think) you generally see in modern day or 20th century casinos.

Yes. These are my thought precisely.

Think about the entrance video on the main HHN site. Remember everyone talking about the wooden table. Have you ever noticed in western movies the wooden tables that cards and gambling games would be played on. This is all stating to come together.

I think not only will we have a western themed house, but that it will be themed around a Wild West saloon. Perhaps, the guy tied up in the video cheated the house, and was taken outback to pay the price. After all, nobody beats the house!

So, I did some research (by which I mean I went on Wikipedia) and I searched Lady Luck, which brought me to the page for the Goddess Fortuna. She controls the Rota Fortunae, which is the Wheel of Fortune. She spins the wheel and changes people's fate. In both the pictures we got so far, there is a Roulette wheel (a very large one, I might add) with cards on it. Perhaps this is our Lady Luck's "wheel of fortune".

I don't know; just throwing stuff out there.

Saying a casino (that is tied to marketing) would be "Wild West" themed strictly because of a wooden table and horseshoe is completely ignoring the music (which is a HUGE element of the teaser video) and the structure that the house of cards is forming (which doesn't look like anything out of the Wild West, let alone a saloon). More signs are pointing away from Wild West/Western than pointing towards, just like more signs are pointing away from having a casino house than pointing towards.

(Yes, I still highly doubt Sprung 2 is a casino. If we are getting an "icon" house, it's in a Soundstage).

I'm sure some others who know more about the icon/theme than I do can shed some light on how "Western" it is, but from my understanding nothing about implies that. While she may not be modern, I imagine she, the roulette wheel, and any "casino" (be it house or scarezone) we have will not feature cowboys.

As always my speculation is quite off. But, that's ok, I'm kind of getting used to that.

I have to ask you thought, can it not be possible that the teaser video contain several different clues for several different houses? It wouldn't first time its been done that way. While I will agree with you that the music is certainly not western, the fact can't be denied that a western image is showing itself, especially in light of the video released today. So, from my angle, which doesn't include a handful of inside sources, I see the makings of something portraying western tones.

Also, a little birdy has told me that a cowboy hat adorns a specific window next to a chinese dragon.

I love where this ^ is going. The idea of Lady Luck bending the players chances or luck so that the house always wins and so that they always meet there inevitable fate.. sounds fun. My favorite part is always trying to figure out the main "icon" or theme. :)

Also, I don't know if it matters but thats definitely the same "wheel of fortune" from the previous video. It's even the same table. (you can see the hairs and blood from the rabbit) It appears that the victim was bound to the table with rope.

To answered the bolded part, yes it can be denied. Attributing a close-up of a wooded table and green slatted doors to a western theme, especially when such contradictory images is being presented in the music. A wood table is just that, a wood table; and that makes perfect sense within the context of a 1920's speakeasy. Full-length slatted doors, also, make more sense within that time period. A guy in a blue work shirt, next to a horseshoe, doesn't say, "Western House," either. It's just trying to force ideas into what is being seen.

And regards to the window, those don't apply strictly to houses. I never said there wouldn't be a western scarezone (which could fit well in either Central Park or Shrek Alley), but nothing points to a Western house.

And also, since the window is wide open view of the park, there's no reason to attribute it to a "little birdy."

EDIT - And I want to add that Spec is HARD. It's suppose to be. And it doesn't get easier. I've been following HHN "spec" as a hobby for about seven years now, and the only way it gets easy is when we get blatant information. We all get stuff wrong (even fans with inside info get stuff wrong). You're going to get more wrong than right. You just ignore when you're wrong an move on to the next thing you don't know.

I think the rabbit's foot/horseshoe videos are teasers for the theme and event as a whole, but NOT specific to a house. The games on the website are the clues to the houses. I feel like these videos are hints to our "Luck."

As a very brief recap of current speculation for our locations:

Soundstages: the Thing, Cemetery and WWI house. Not sure the exact order of what will be in SS22, SS23A and SS23B, but the current spec is that these will be our Soundstages.

Disaster - Horror Holidays Television spectacular of some sort.

Jaws - Saws n Steam

Parade - Pirates/Columbus/Spaniards... shipwreck? fort? something of that sort.

Tent 1 - Runes/Demons... etc.

Tent 2 - This is our mystery house still. Poe? Icon house? Something entirely different? We're not sure yet.

So that leaves Tent 2 as the only possible location. Not everything from that window will be able to be at the event. I assume some are hints, while some are there as decoys. I'm assuming the cowboy hat is a decoy. Perhaps a scarezone though? Who knows.

Sorry but what window are you guys referring to?

They are talking about a window with props in it close to the Horror and Makeup show. It is rumored that the window is a hint of things to come because of props that have been there in the past that tie into the event of that year. For example the maske from the Skool in '08 we in the window. It isn't assumed that everything in the window will be at the event. Moreso that a few key easter eggs are hidden there.

Thank you, Dr. Jimmy and JW, for actually explaining what the window was/posting an image so those not "in the know" can actually attempt to contribute to some legitimate speculation, and for not acting like elitests for happening to know about something not everyone has access to. I'm not sure why this couldn't have been noted/shown earlier, but, whatever.

If not explicitly stating what I know is "elitist," oh well. I've worked to decipher clues, develop relationships, and read between the lines throughout the year, but I'm also not 100% confident on everything (though I'm damn near it), so I'm not going to show my cards. I'm also not going to risk revealing something that shouldn't be known because I do enjoy the perks of being a UO Team Member and forum member. Spilling stuff directly opens a lot of legal issues not just for me, but for Mark and Nightmares as a whole. Not everyone has access to information, but people who do are trying to steer discussion in a more accurate direction. If you just want answers, you're not going to get them. Speculation is a process that you have to invest in to get anything of value out of it. Discretion is a component of it.

Anybody walking through the park can see the Rumor Window, so it can be discussed by people who value it. I don't. Not everything in the window applies, some are red herrings, and some are just too vague.

I didn't ask anyone to reveal hidden insider information. As has been noted/revealed, the "rumor window" is in full view of any park guest yet this is the first many people are hearing of it, meaning some knew of it and based speculative claims on it, but said nothing of its existence. I don't recall reading about this window in 08 on the Vault (where it apparently held some answers there). I just see no reason to hide something like that (again, something in full public view with a precedent for giving clues) from the general HNN populace.

It really has only come to light recently for most. I noticed the clues from the past and never really made the connection. My thought though.. they tend to hide stuff in plain site until we realize it... then they move whatever it is. So there is a chance that, now that everyone knows, it will no longer be used as such.

Who knows really its just a big game. I see the point of witholding info from the general public if it keeps ours soruces from disappearing (ie. permits, the window, coding, etc.). At least for a while. But it has been referenced so many times at this point it just becomes cruel not to explain it.
