  1. I still think the IP line-up will be VERY similar to this: Chucky The Weeknd: Dawn FM The Last of Us Insidious Cult Classic IP Universal Monsters: Silent Abominations

  2. To be fair, the attendance was supposedly lower this year. At least it felt like it for the most part. Obviously there will continue to be stuff to bring in newcomers, but all I ask is that we have plenty to balance it out as well.

  3. This COULD be the year we finally get more originals than IPs, just by nature of the possibility of 11 houses. Anyways, here's my very rough, shot in the dark, and still too early prediction for the lineup: Beetlejuice (Legacy's clue and what he said recently) Revenge of Chucky (Again, Legacy's clue as well as ModDesigner's comments--if not Scarecrow, THIS would be a perfect opportunity for an open floor house--set it in a toy store, put it in SS25, lay the path via shelves) Stranger Things (for budget and to promote S4...believe me, ugh...maybe Sabrina instead, though I'm not sure if that would be much better; I just can't see them not using any Netflix properties). Creepshow (Ifrit + fairly cheap since Hollywood did it) "UCM: Bride" (Once again, Legacy's clue...and c'mon, it's the 30th, you really think they'd do nothing with the Monsters?) Jack's Dungeon of Terror (Legacy's clue; sticking with my idea of going through the carnival dark ride he was found in, to fit with the whole "back in his box" thing; heck you could work LT in there if that rumor is correct) Scarecrow sequel or repeat (The promo image; aside from cornfield which would be less likely if they did something in the vain of my Chucky idea, I remember someone pitching the idea of a Seeds of Extinction crossover) Terra Cruentes: Season of the Queen (Legacy saying that it's about on the same level of likelihood as Billie)

  4. 2011 was a FANTASTIC year - one of the best ever in my opinion. While Lady Luck was not a very memorable icon, the way she was weaved into all of the houses was very cool. The In Between was easily the best 3D house I've been in anywhere in the country. Saws & Steam backstory was described very well above. The final room was very close to that of Depths, but there was a waterfall separating you from the baddie ahead of you. In S&S, the costume was reminiscent of Big Daddy, and he came charging through the waterfall at you. Winter's Night was every bit as beautiful as Graveyard Games (which is my new GOAT) Forsaken was loosely based on The Fog, but was epic in scale, with a massive shipwreck in the middle of it. Nevermore was a Poe fan's nirvana. HR Bloodengutz was a great blend of comedy and horror, served with a side of 'memberberries. And 2011 was where Nightingales began, with the location being the trenches in WWI. 2011 was the last time HHN had overwhelmingly original houses. The pendulum swung hard to IP in 2012 and it took a long time to get back to even a 50/50 split.

  5. Theme Park University is saying Beetlejuice has been locked in as a house.

  6. My memories is a bit of blur but Saws N Steam Into The Machine was about a utopia that was fantasized by these people called The Horizon, Water was very rich, poor was very high I believe, so there was this place called The Horizon, and they'd give you this test, if you failed you were sent away but if you passed you were accepted but you weren't signing for something you wanted but to be taken away and drained of your blood which would be used as fuel for the city, the water and blood and your body would be taken and used to fuel the city basically and parts would be used well for parts like weapons and stuff I believe, though the concept of the house with art deco stuff and etc. was very inspired by Bioshock, this house was awesome, the story behind it was pretty cool too, I'd think if they brought it back as a scarezone again it'd be awesome.

  7. Saws n' Steam, Vanity Ball, and Depths of Fear all borrowed elements from BioShock so that might be the closest you get. Still though, maybe one day.

  8. I know this will never happen, but I REALLY want a BioShock house.

  9. It is a very Hollywood thing. Marketing directed a house for both coasts. Orlando pushed back on a house but acquiesced the lagoon.

  10. Since Legacy mentions "whispers"... TwoTonTick told me that Hollywood reopening TWD attraction for HHN this year is only the beginning. HHN 30 will once again be All Walking Dead - this time all 10 houses. A Walking Dead house centered around the Governor A Walking Dead house centered around the Wolves A Walking Dead house centered around Gareth and Terminus A Walking Dead house centered around Negan A Walking Dead house centered around Jadis and the Scavengers A Walking Dead house centered around the Whisperers A Fear the Walking Dead house centered around the Vultures A Fear the Walking Dead house centered around Martha and Logan A Fear the Walking Dead house centered around the Settlers A Walking Dead: World Beyond house based on the newly announced spinoff And Billie Eilish will provide music for all ten houses. Let's see if this mess wakes up the board...

  11. I got bored last night and went over and read the HHN 30 speculation thread over at IU. Wow that place is a mess. Right now, its just Legacy toying everyone over there with hints /clues of only rumors. Couldn't find a shred of credible evidence, or what I conciser credible evidence. I figured it was going to be "tight lipped" this year due to the past few years. Now Rix Flix went and posted the IU rumors on youtube . All this information/misinformation is going to make the speculation game hard as hell this year. What I like to see at the event Vs. what will actually be at the event are almost certainly different, but I am never disappointed. So for now, I can speculate that Creepshow and Billie Eilish lagoon show. I'd be surprised if ST came back due to its reception / execution last year, but crazier things have happened (As always though $$$$ makes the world go around). Conjuring / IT sounds to good to be true, so I am not getting my hopes up. Beetlejuice seems like low hanging fruit for Universal so its possible, but again no credible evidence. Pretty sure we will get our first announcement next month, so that will be exciting.

  12. Oh. No. Universal Hollywood accidentally leaks house. Is this just the easy shoe-in or does this mean it's coming here as well?

  13. Annabelle & The Nun would be used at the marketing for the films because those films are centered around them, they could find a way to make the house work, they did with Insidious, they can do it with this one but not rush it. Universal Monsters was a big opportunity, of course they took advantage and did it last year because also coincided with Hollywood’s sequel house. King has ownership of his property, so it’s not WB’s permission they need to ask for the film, they would have to go to King but I am sure King is still hesitant since they went behind and did Shining but then again maybe they found a way to work on an arrangement and it could happen but at the moment, everything is tight lipped also with this said by Murdy I’m not sure this could be a joint ip or exclusive ip for them but I’m sure it’s leaning towards joint.

  14. I would happily take this. Marketing would be happy, newcomers would be happy, and fans would be happy. Everyone wins.

  15. How about this? Give the children and the moneygrubbers what they want. Give her a stupid lagoon show and maybe a zone or a house, but then make EVERY OTHER house and sz original, icon or mashup of the two or sequel to an original(minus IT and Conjuring). Then the kids can all go watch this Billie Eilish BS and leave the rest of the event to the fans of the actual event. Edit: This is not an attack on her personally, as I know she's a fan of the event and maybe a lovely person, but her music is just as unoriginal as the next pop princess, imo(get off my lawn).

  16. Creepshow was "OK" in Hollywood. It was one of those that I think Orlando would pull off much better. Hollywood's had so many static figures. Not enough actors. And the ones they did have were all in those stupid-ass strobe box scares. Over. And. Over. I can most easily picture it going into the MIB location.

  17. ok Im finally jumping on here since 29.... whats all this Billie Eilish talk? You guys better be kidding. That kid is the most over hyped things since the DeLorean.

  18. Perhaps they can pump in the smell of teenage angst. I actually did hear this over the weekend. Wanna hear part 2 of the rumor? HHN Hollywood will be getting a Billie Eilish HOUSE. Rumor continues that Orlando design team resisted an Orlando house, and was told to incorporate her in some way. Hence, the lagoon show. Another Hollywood-related rumor: the year round Walking Dead attraction will CLOSE permanently on March 3. Again, just a rumor. TWD is immediately adjacent to the new Secret Life of Pets ride that will open in spring. TWD also typically has very short waits times and is closed every 90 minutes for cast breaks (only one cast).

  19. You are giving me terrible flashbacks of almost getting sick in the 2004 Psycho Scareapy house, that bathroom with the poop smell was so bad, I feel bad for the scare actors in that room.

  21. Been a long time “lurker” on these forums. This place is one of best sources for info for HHN. This is the first year that I can remember that I can’t even have an educated guess as to what houses are going to be here this year. Maybe 30 year anniversary house... And that’s about it... Maybe Hellraiser? I can’t even say that those are educated guesses. I know what I would like to see, but I don’t believe in getting my hopes up. (*Fingers crossed* Horror made here doesn’t return) I am also afraid that people “in the know” will be tight lipped after what happened last year (losing GoT... which I was super fine with) So I have a strong feeling information won’t be as easily available as previous years. What do you all think? Am I being to negative or realistic.

  22. Been MIA for awhile. Just read through the four pages. There's a lot I could talk about through all of that, but what stood out to me most was AHS. I like the show and the two houses HHN had, although is it back on the table? Last I heard Disney owns the rights after the Fox acquisition. I thought that made it off limits. Also, I forget who it was, but someone had a Beetlejuice house on their wishlist. Can we please go ahead and make that official? Everything else would be icing on the cake if there was a Beetlejuice house.

  24. First - hello all - long time.. excited to be back reading spec for this year. I would LOVE it if they finally got a Conjuring house. I've said for ages that I thought the original Conjuring movie was the scariest horror movie in 10 years. I was so disappointed that it was pulled due to legal issues a couple years go. Other than that - my wish list is the same as it has been for years. I figure if I keep repeating it, maybe some day, one or all of these will happen: Phantasm - I've wished and wished for this every single year. I've told TJ and Aiello and David Hughes directly that we needed this. Hope I planted a seed. Stephen King - yes, I know. I, of all people, know of his resistance to allowing a haunt to do a house based on his stuff. But, I can still wish. However, as SK himself says, "Wish in one hand, crap in the other, and see which fills first." Bloody Mary - if they were able to bring her back, I would lose my mind Legendary Truth - how can we have a HUGE anniversary year without LT??? Body Collectors - another version of BC would be great. We've had SO MUCH FUN in the BC houses previously. The actors have been amazing, and they all play with us An original as breathtaking as Winter's Night A scarezone in Central Park like Grown Evil - one of my faves of all time Monster of Mayhem Part 2 in Lagoon And here is my last big one: A "limited edition HHN only Horror Makeup Show". I've laid this out many times, but it's a new spec year, so I'll do it again. Every year at HHN, we walk by the Horror Makeup Show and wonder aloud why this isn't used at a HORROR event. There are always so many of us asking for more shows.. so why not use one of the best gems they have sitting RIGHT THERE? Theme the limited edition show to include whatever content is out there for that year.. create a script around that. Play some clips from the trailers of whatever IPs are being featured that year. Give a little makeup / FX history in the script for those same IPs. It's pretty much a no-brainer.. and they would fill that little theater for every single show. It would also be the humor show we've all been missing since the loss of B&T - but this would be better because the humor would be tailored to the event and the jokes wouldn't be stale. I presented this idea to A&D last year.. the response was "can I steal that idea?". YES, YES YOU CAN. Let's all start hoping now.

  25. I'm all for the multiple icons, but only when it makes sense. 20th, 25th - made sense to bring them back. 30th might make sense. I But sweet 16? Making up a story just to get the icons together...I don't know. And to use that to honor the very first HHN house. So strange. Personally, I think the 10 year anniversaries are fine for an icon party; 35th, 45th seems a bit much. Maybe if there was some new icons.... (and sorry, Bone is not an icon in my book)

  28. We might be running out of good Ip's but there is are plenty of untapped waters of indie or Asian horror films. I mean if you want to think about it all they really need is one major IP and smaller one to draw in huge crowds. If they switch up the Ip numbers this next year we could got back to our roots of Originals, which is pretty good especially because I think Nat is in good spot to make some good choices for mazes. He was apart of the team for few years now. They just promotion him to someone spot In Creative. He was mainly in Graveyard Games last year. I think we should get fresh faces after maybe 7 years. Like Charles Gray's first house was Doll house of the damned? I don't know why there was Dark night scarecrow mask sold in the parks. I think it was hinting at the return of Scarecrow in some way or shape. Maybe This is going to be Mike Aiello great send off year? He did make that Scare crow Icon remember? I hope it happens because after two years in the 80's I want out. Unless there is 80's Richard Simmons scarezone plans for 2020 in the south st/ sting alley? where he could be on the stage and working out with a cult zone. We got a fashion street this year, why not?

  29. So for this Original House Bone Presents: 30 Years of Fear and Darkness That its gonna be inside the Parade Building 1 The Outside face should show Pile of Bones. and a Skeleton Fortress that has Bone's throne. and two banners that have a sign that has "XXX" meaning 30 Years. The Inside of the facade should be A an entrance to a castle that represents Dracula: Legacy of Blood. So these are the represented houses from the pass. House Represented Dracula: Legacy of Blood (2009) Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetery (2011) Gothic (2012) DollHouse: of the Damned (2014) Scarecrow: The Reaping (2017) Seeds of Extinction (2018) Yeti: Terror of the Yukon (2019) Bone's Lair (Original/New) That's it. SO what do you guys think about this idea?

  33. It should be mentioned that Universal sent out a survey during HHN this year. Among the questions was: Have you seen the Bill & Ted show at past HHNs? You don't put a question like that on a survey if you are just teasing people. So personally, I think there is definitely hope. As for The Hanging, I know there is speculation (I noted it in my Haunt review). Where have you heard that it is officially done?

  34. I just want few things. I want a regular parkwide score like 24, or 27 or 2010 was pretty good. 29 score was boring. I want a second show with actors, maybe RHPS or Magic show. Highly unlikely, After 26, I believe they wrote a 5 year contract with AOV. Unless Bill and Ted will come back for one year. I would like to believe that Blumhouse deal is over, I doubt it. They are partners in a way of releasing.. We might get a blumhouse street. I am hoping for Purge tv street zone. I believe that with the popularity of the Beatlejuice musical, If we have the rights to him for theme park use, why not? I think it could the ghostbusters, or stranger things enough frightening scenes to warrant a house. I think that universal is unsure about the horror of Halloween Horror Nights. Pretty sure that that they would like to do get that family Halloween money. I think they were testing the vr. special upcharge experience on a smaller scale of the stranger things experience during hhn. Hopefully, they can further test it next year with a real experience. For houses.. I think people might be disappointed. We might get another mega original house like Jack's in 25. So we know where the mega house next year will be going to. I think we might be getting Candy Man which I believe is Universal Release, But not director by Jordan Peele. We might get Germlins? or something from Hollywood because why not?

  35. To get an idea of what to expect from the IP side, here's what's coming up in 2020, that might bring in some crowds. THE CONJURING!! - Could this finally be the year? With the 3rd installment coming out in 2020, I'd love to see an epic trilogy house. The Grudge remake - Looks creepy Last Night in Soho - I don't know what it's about, but I see Edgar Wright directing and neon in the poster, and we know neon is coming on strong with the HHN crowds. Antlers - Guillermo Del Toro is producing. 'nuff said. However, Fox Searchlight is distributing so... Saw - This could be the comedy house. It's written by Chris Rock and stars Samuel L Jackson. Seriously? Yes, seriously. Look it up! Scarezones Army of the Dead - Zack Snyder's follow-up to his only good movie IMHO. It's also a Netflix film and we're in good graces with them. The Purge 5 - Unfortunately, it's easy money

  36. To make a very long complicated story short: HHN XV featured the Storyteller as the icon telling the story of Terra Cruentus and the Terra Queen who ruled over the land. She was like a sub-icon for the year. I believe part of the reason for this was Creative felt she was not very marketable and so created the storyteller. All the mazes were tied into a giant story that involved the forging of a blade that was used nightly to “sacrifice” a victim. The final night of XV the Terra Queen Sacrificed herself but basically made a “prophecy” she would return in 15 years ,eg HHN30. There is Soooooo much more to this story so advise you to look it up. Also one of the best HHN websites they ever did. Side note: My dog Terra is named for her royal highness the Terra Queen

  37. Hey y’all, haven’t been since 2017 so I’m a little behind on some of the lore. Could someone give me a quick rundown on who the Terra Queen is?

  38. HHN30 hopefully will be catered to hardcore HHN fans. My wishlist includes high usage of icons, a half/ half blend of ip and original houses, 6 scare zones that are actually scary, more chainsaw hordes, and better merchandise. I wouldn’t be mad if Stranger Things returns next year, but I would rather have American Horror Story make a return! For icons, I would happy if all of them return!!! Considering that it’ll be HHN 30, a reference to The Terra Queen would be highly appropriate. I also think if the water show should return, make it all about the icons.

  39. It's crazy that there is going to be less nights for 30 than there was for 29. I wonder what they do with their ratio of IPs to Originals for 30. We just saw 6 IPs and 4 Originals for 29. What are the odds they do more originals than IPs for 30? I think it's extremely low, but from Universal's quote: “re-imagined haunts inspired by the past”, they may go heavy on the originals. It's just hard to believe since the event relies on the IPs to draw the masses in. In terms of bringing people in, unless Universal acquires the rights to It, this may be a slow year. Not slow, but the event will definitely see less people than the last couple years. ST4 is probably going to come out after 30 and I doubt they do a Stranger Things mashup house or strictly season 3 house next year. They almost have to get It. No current horror property other than It is big enough to bring in the amount of people that Stranger Things did. I believe this was Universal's plan all along, though. They knew that once there wasn't material to work with with Stranger Things that not as many people would show up. However, they got so many people to buy tickets to 28 and 29 and those people enjoyed everything else HHN has to offer, so now those people will return to the event no matter what IPs they have just based on how good the houses and scarezones are. But they still do need a big IP to back the event and, again, It really is the only true horror draw of the past couple years other than Stranger Things. Gotta see how Dr. Sleep does in the box office and if they bring Haunting of Hill House or something else that people really enjoyed. Either way, those two properties aren't nearly as big as It or Stranger Things. 30 will be an interesting year that may cater more to the diehards than the masses, which is an awesome thing. But that's not how a massive corporation like Universal works. They strictly care about selling tickets and boosting attendance numbers. They don't care about old money, they want the money of those who've never been yet to add to their dough from the old money they know they'll get year after year. That's why they're probably doing everything they can, if they haven't already, gotten the rights for It and are going to bring back big names like Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, and Chucky. Excited to see what this coming year of speculation and announcements bring!

  42. My line up I would love to see next year would be 1. Nightmare on elm street:cause you can never have to much Freddy. 2. The Witcher: if a Netflix property is to be featured I think a bad ass monster hunter house would be cooler then haunting of hill house. I just personally feel like hill house wouldn’t translate that well into a show. 3. Candyman: Jordan Peele got a US house this year and is apparently happy with the final results so I can absolutely see his sequel coming to the event next year. 4. Halloween 2018: having the first before Halloween kills comes out a month later just makes sense to me 5. 13 Ghosts: it’s probably the least likely of the 5 IPs but would love to see this house eventually!!! 6. Dungeon of Terra Cruentes: it’s been said why this house needs to be done above and I just absolutely think this is a bad ass name and could be a seriously twisted house! 7. Slaughter sinema 2: the first house was such a huge success and the ideas for this house are endless and I could see it becoming the new scary tales. 8. Nightingales vs Body Collectors 9. Scarecrow sequel 10. A brand new original house because I don’t want to see just old properties the entire event

  43. I have a speculation map to come with this. Dungeon of Terra Cruentes (Soundstage 21) - Thanks to FaceBagman for that amazing name. This would be half Terra Queen house, half anniversary house, and take Monsters & Mayhem's place for longest house of all time. IT (Soundstage 22) - With the IT films finished (for now at least), I think it's now time to bring Pennywise to the event. All Nite Die-In: Usher'd In (Soundstage 24B) - As FaceBagman also came up with, a mash-up of The Director and The Usher. Psychoscareapy: Bloody Bolts (Soundstage 24A) - With the new Shadybrook Junkyard open, the ruthless inmates take the opportunity to set up a weapon station. A Nightmare On Elm Street (Soundstage 25) - Freddy Kreuger is inside Depths of Fear this year, and I believe it may be this year's "house hint" for next year. And not just the first film, but the original trilogy. RUN: Havoc Forever (MIB Tent) - Teaming up with the escaped Dogs, this newest airing of RUN is even bloodier than ever. Carnival Graveyard: House of Horrors (Sprung Tent 2) - The House of Horrors that Jack himself was found in has been shipped over to Sal's Amusement Salvage, where Jack has now taken leadership over the carnies, and their new main home being the House of Horrors itself. Scream (Sprung Tent 1) - Let's get Scream back, come on! Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (New Parade Building) - If they're continuing with their Halloween pattern, then Halloween 5 is next. Vanity Ball: Devilish Delight (Parade Building) - Scare zone to house treatment, and Vanity Ball has been insanely popular this year. Plus as many have already said, it would make an amazing house. H.R. Bloodengutz Presents Holidays of Horror: Rerun (Shrek 4D Theater 2) - The magnificent return of our glorious H.R. Bloodengutz.

  44. Alright, let's do this. Terra Queen HAS to be the Icon, of course. What I'm wondering though, if she's hopefully the Icon, would she get her own Terra Cruentes house, or just host the anniversary house? I think we're gonna see a crank up to 11 houses. Also, as people have already said, all the Icons coming back together.

  45. Patrick has tweeted that the team have already started working on the 4th house for next year. It's understandable that Universal would selling the The Dark Night Of The Scarecrow mask, the masks of House of 1000 Corpses and Killer Klowns From Outer Space are from the company Trick Or Treat Studios so it would make sense that they would try and sell other masks from the company that they think would look cool and sell at the event but I don't think we'd see Dark Night at HHN, even though the concept of the movie is interesting, I could see maybe Universal using it as a influence for an original house or something if they'd go that route.
