HHN 2013: Black Sabbath: 13 3D

So far it only seems to share the new albumes name but yes those two albums would be the playlist

It makes sense to promote what is essentially Sabbath in the public eye. While the classic songs really helped usher in metal to the masses, I personally thought the musicianship went to the next level while Ronnie James Dio fronted the band. This maze will have a heck of a soundtrack....very "moody and atmospheric" tones in the early stuff.

Not to mention that the ad campaign for 13 (the album) has worked on pretending that Dio doesn't exist. So no room split between Heaven and Hell.

None of the band members will be represented in the maze so that means no Ozzy's this is the polar exact oppisite of Alice Cooper where EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER was Alice.

But glad you are on board!

Yeah, I was really happy about that. If they tried to pull of Black Sabbath scareactors it would have killed my anticipation quicker than you could say "nuclear holocaust." Did they have any characters that weren't rocking Alice makeup? I guess the devil girls in GTH. Did they have Cooper makeup?

Now how in the Hell can they do something based on nothing? Do you mean you want some super generic concept that has been done to death by hundreds of haunts?

I don't agree with everything Murdy does, but come on. This is something that's really original.

It's not really that original. A Black Sabbath house; yes, completely original. A band house, not original; a 3D house, not original. It doesn't seem OMG, THIS IS SO DIFFERENT to me. It's just like, "Eh, a 'horror' band house. I'm sure it'll be good, but whatever. What's next?" And I'd prefer to have that OMG feeling from something else.

A lot of the people (NOT all) who like this house are fans of Ozzy, or Black Sabbath, so they're totally kool with it. Ask somebody who has no idea who it is, I have a feeling you'd get a different answer. Now, obviously, a lot of people know who it is. Actually, my girlfriend didn't know who Black Sabbath was and when I told her Ozzy, she just shrugged.

It's not an amazing idea. Neither was Alice Cooper, but at least that was completely original as we never had a rock-icon house before.

I never said I'd hate it 'cause it's Black Sabbath? I even said I didn't care for Alice Cooper when that maze was announced, but it turned out to be my favourite maze that year. Who knows, maybe the maze itself will be my favourite maze this year as well? I'm just saying, the idea itself is stupid, and seems boring. Just another advertisement for an upcoming album. They did it once with Alice, now again with Black Sabbath. I'm REALLY hoping they don't do it again with another new album of another rock-icon. And honestly, I can't think of another band, whether they have a new album coming out or not, that I'd want to see a house based off of. I'm sure there are a lot, since I don't listen to that kind of music, but it's just... I'm sure a lot of people besides me don't like this idea of Black Sabbath because they aren't a fan of his music, and even if they are, it just could've been used with a better IP.

To be honest, Murdy probably jumped on it 'cause this was the one-time-only maze. Not like everyone would've been happy if next year they announced "Black Sabbath's 13 album from last year is now making its debut as a maze." A lot of people would've been like "Would've been great last year, but this year, not so much."

Murdy should've let it pass, it's just another advertisement.

As for the Trick 'r Treat and CitW crap; fine, I'll accept those reasons. They were just examples that I didn't fully process. But still, I'm tired of seeing this event become one big advertisement scheme. It was kool at first, especially for The Thing since I wanted to see the movie and it was just a super kool trailer to me, but it's getting old. They're taking it a whole new level and way too far.

Every maze so far has been an advertisement. Evil Dead, Walking Dead, 13, and probably Insidious. 4 out of 6 mazes, maybe more, we don't know.

I don't know, I feel like they're getting this "Everyone wants to see this movie, gotta make a maze out of it NOW" stuck in their head. Like they have no other choices or other IPs that people want to see. I'm sure we all would've skipped out on Black Sabbath happily if they offered something we've been waiting for in its place, and what I'm trying to get at, is if they stopped trying to go for new things that are coming out, they'd try harder for things that have been wanted for years now.

Idk, I hope Black Sabbath is a good maze, I really do. I just wish they didn't do it.

What? Obviously if you no idea what the theme is you're not going to be as interested. That's true for everything possible. But if after that you looked into the environments and vibe of the maze then there's something interesting.

Something the majority of people going to HHN would go to...like Black Sabbath?

So why choose something that not everyone's gonna know? The majority will know it, but I'm sure they could've picked something better..

Anyone going to HHN would try their best to go to any maze regardless.. I'm just trying to say that not everyone is gonna know who Black Sabbath is, and if everyone did, not everyone is gonna enjoy that idea as much as things they could've used in its place.

So by "everyone" do you mean everyone or a majority of people? Because you just said that the majority will know it but not everyone but by "everyone" you said you meant the majority of people. I'm just trying to get where you are coming from here.

Holy shit, stop nit-picking everything.

PEOPLE will not know who Black Sabbath is. A LOT of people will.

So what makes Black Sabbath different from any other theme or property in that regard? What you said is true for literally everything. And Black Sabbath's know/not know ratio is pretty high, much higher with the GP than most horror films. Even modern mainstream ones.

It was never requested, it's not highly-horror-related, not an original concept (Besides that it's a different band).

It's just my opinion, I'll drop it if no one else agrees, I just think everyone's blinded because it IS here rather than just speculation.

Have you read the description of the maze? Or the lyrics to the songs that we (so far) know are going to be included?

There's a ton to build from, and the foundation they seem to be working with is pretty exciting to me.

I'm pretty sure they could describe something they had the ability to do with a lot more horror in it.

And as I said before, you can find lyrics to almost any band if you look at all their songs and make a horror maze out of it. Especially if you nit-pick it.

Black Sabbath isn't the worst choice, but it's not the best they had the option to do.

Well to start off they were inspired to make music by a Boris Karloff/Mario Bava movie.

Come on man. Listen to that song. Listen to the lyrics and the tone. That's what horror (or at least a type of horror) is all about.

Buildings crashing down to a cracking ground
Rivers turn to wood, ice melting to flood
Earth lies in death bed, clouds cry water dead
Tearing life away, here's the burning pay

First off it's a theme park own by a major Film Studio younr gonna have to expect things are done to promote and sell but its the exact oppisited with Evil Dead The DVD release promoted the Maze which is a first Im sure by the time late september rolls by we are gonna see "Now On DVD anywhere but maybe the Maps if anything.

all Im gonna say is Black Sabbath is kinda more known than Alice Cooper, you can't of lived for the last few years without hearing one of there songs hell my 7 year old brother know the song Ironman because of the movie Iron Man. As long as it not something thats been done and has a legit story line it will be great. As for people being against it. The GP is ALWAYS against every maze thats not Halloween, Friday the 13th, or Nightmare On Elm Street. Boo The Thing Im not afraid of Aliens, Hostel and SAW are just gore porn, this movie sucked, thats not scary ect.

DTH has spoken lets all enjoy ourselfs lol.

That's not what it used to be about. I know things change, but nearly every maze? That's a bit much.

And everyone knows Iron Man.. Lol. Paranoid too. War Pigs and songs from Guitar Hero.

I'm not saying he's not well-known.

My end opinion: I'm whatever about it. I'd prefer not to see it and they should've used some other rights they had instead of it. I'm done.
