00nightcrawler
I see this being the surprise maze that everyone gives great reviews actually, similar to alice cooper last year. I think Silent Hill is the perfect property for a maze and I'm glad murdy didn't overlook it. This is my most anticipated so far.
Hauntfan
^Actually... It was overlooked by Murdy! Something else was originally planned for the mummy venue, before whatever it was dropped and Silent Hill was created, almost last minute.
DTH316
We don't know if that's accurate. All we know is something else was planned there. Perhaps something could've switched, like Silent Hill being in WWW and TWD being there instead. Although, what you said is probably true haha
00nightcrawler
Dang, I forgot about that. Hope murdy doesnt show the same contempt for silent hill that he did the scream series.
Grindhousehero13
Dang, I forgot about that. Hope murdy doesnt show the same contempt for silent hill that he did the scream series. well he did seem excited for it I saw on twitter he was fascinated by "Fog World" as he calls it. DTH316
I think we're safe. Scream, although a fan of the movies, he just didn't see it as a viable property for a Halloween event. He seems to recognize Silent Hill has better elements and is scary. Only thing you should worry about is everything falling in second place to Alice Cooper like last year. Seemed like all his time, energy and resources went into that while everything else suffered and lagged behind in quality from the scarezones, TT and a lot of the mazes with so many bare rooms. Again, it seems like GTH is his baby because it seems to be all he talks about so it's very possible that could happen again...
Hhnh86987
If the maze ends up looking anything like that movie trailor.... I'm going to be in complete awwwhh
Freak
Doesn't sound like Silent Hill will be going in the building like thought. It occupies roughly the same space as previous mazes, just different lay out...probably a bit longer
DTH316
Roughly the same space and "longer" suggest it may take up more area, so it's possible that building may still be used, just not the entire building like you hoped.

You're right. I think Murdy's trying to be a bit tricky here.
Kurseddragon
Wouldn't the u-turn make it longer since it like, doubles the size? This one would just be one straight line causing it to be shorter overall?
Trevler
I think people are misunderstanding what Murdy means when he says you enter from the other side. I believe the FACADE and actual maze entrance are in the same place, but you enter the queue from the other side, it then runs along side the maze layout. Kurseddragon
Oh, really? o.o So there's still a u-turn? Lol.
Trevler
Im not 100 percent sure, but it's my guess.
Hauntfan
^Somebody just ask where the facade for Silent Hill will be on twitter please! So we can stop this confusion!!!!!!! From what it looks like I think the facade might be on the other side. Pics indicate where the facade was in previous mazes is just regular walls. No real facade yet. While on the other side by the starway the walls appear to be larger. More facade like.
Kurseddragon
Well, assuming the facade is on the opposite side from previous years, that would make the maze shorter, wouldn't it?
Hauntfan
^Not at all. The maze wouldn't have to make a u-turn therefore the flow won't have to be a straight line-u turn-straight line. Instead the maze can have twist and turns throughout the space it takes up.
DTH316
The u-turn really isn't that bad... lol Technically all the Shrek venue's mazes u-turn too... it's just less noticeable and much wider of a u-turn Edited August 8, 2012 by DTH316
Hauntfan
Oh DTH, you know how much I hate the u-turn. In fact, I've used the term the most out of anyone on this site!!! The problem I have with the Mummy venue is it usually is a straight line...U-Turn... straight line...every year.... But anyway. If there is no U-Turn this year the maze will definitely be longer and have a more interesting layout. Which make Hauntfan happy! Grindhousehero13
To be honest I never realy realize the U-turn till after I exit the maze
DTH316
I only notice the u-turn as it's happening. It doesn't detract from the scene though, but I DO notice, and I suppose I shouldn't.
Kurseddragon
I notice it, but I don't think it distracts anything. I'd probably find it more annoying to do constant back to back left and rights than to do one u-turn.
Mr.HHN
Actually John said on Twitter that it will be a bit longer.
Freak
Pieces from the sound track that I'm sure we'll hear in the house. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZfH0pxXPx4 In a scene with Robbie the Rabbit, I hope they play this piece:
Hhnh86987
Here in Iowa the tornado sirens went off today. Reminded me of silent hill. With the soundtrack I'm hoping for those.
