  1. It's hard to say exactly what makes me like and want an icon so much. I think it rounds the event off for me having a host of sorts. I like backstory and depth and I always wished that each year the icon would have their own show (like a miniature movie) explaining their motives and methods. Part of the fun in watching shows like Dr Who or the X Files was seeing what new monster or villain would appear each week and I think the same can be said of HHN icons. I think last years Lady Luck was a token gesture that they didn't bother doing much work fleshing out but I'd still rather have her than nothing. I'm hoping that Uni didn't misunderstand the criticism of her last year. People were not complaining about the idea but the way they didn't follow through with much background or effort (do I have to remind you of the masks?). To be honest the more I think about it the more that I'm convinced that marketing wanted her to fail so that they had justification to dump the icon altogether. Poor quality costumes, drab scarezone, unoriginal idea and no real story wasn't ever going to get the fans excited was it? Is it coincidence that this year we have no icon? I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory but I honestly think A&D and marketing are in disagreement over the addition of an icon. Didn't someone say A&D's original icon idea for last year was scrapped by marketing to be replaced by their idea? Anyway, I for one want to see a proper fully rounded out icon next year and I'll be making my view known on the exit poll. For those of you who love the icons too I suggest you do the same.
  2. Erm is that really what Hollywoods nurses will look like? I'm with you because if that's what we're getting too I'm going to be beyond disappointed. Looks like a normal woman who's been crying and her makeup has run. Either that or an Alice Cooper fan.
  3. 1. Silent Hill 2. Gothic 3. Walking Dead 4. Alice Cooper 5. House Of Horrors 6. Dead End 7. Penn & Teller To be honest there is not much between my top 5. Dead End I just don't know enough about to form an opinion. P&T is easily last for me even though In Between was my favorite house last year. I'm not a fan of them and I just can't get excited about it. If it wasn't 3D I wouldn't care at all but maybe it will surprise me.
  4. I wish I was there for opening night now I will see you during the event though Hush and Troi and maybe some of you others too
  5. Ive never considered the walkers to be part of the Legion but something else entirely. It was pretty much worked out on spec weeks ago that not all the scarezones will be tied to the Legions...
  6. Thanks! I thought it was but the other side of my brain was convinced I was getting confused.
  7. I for one am over the moon were getting a stage show rather than Death Drums because I hated that. If I want to watch monsters dancing to music I'll watch the Thriller video thanks. I personally hope it never returns, I always got the impression it was a budget cut alternative to paying for a stage performer. Anyway I've not seen these guys before and I'm avoiding finding out too much about them because I don't want to ruin the surprise. I enjoyed Brushwood and the guy they had in 2008 who's name escapes me at present. If anyone remembers the trick he did with the video and people recording it on their phones etc that was pretty cool. I think I'm one of the few who would like to see a show based on the icon of each year. Like a mini theatre show explaining their background, motives and origins. Seeing as it looks like we are not getting an icon this year I realise this isn't possible at HHN 22 but it's something I'd like to see in the future.
  8. I think they are relying on the scenery to relieve the repetitive nature of just zombies. They want people to recognise scenes from the show and relive them in the footsteps of the shows characters. I agree with the previous poster when he said we are replacing the characters from the show with ourselves. They just don't have the permission to use the characters likenesses as we'd have seen it by now in the advertising. I think it'll still be good though experiencing the journey that Rick and the others went through first hand.
  9. I think it unlikely they are icons as they have not revealed any in depth information about them at this point. I think we'd know about it by now if they were. We are in September and so close to the event that I am starting to fear we won't be seeing an icon this year.
  10. They are not going to celebrate 100 years of Universal horror one year and 100 years of other genres another year. This is it and I do believe that the house this year is their homage to the part the classic monsters played in Universals history. Looking forward to this house immensely.
  11. It would be nice to see characters but I honestly don't think we will. I think we'd have seen them in advertising by now. Hope I'm wrong but....
  12. I'm at the UMTH tour at 1.30pm on October 25th with my the other members of my HHN family
  13. Don't worry about it Pirka we all think of things after the fact lol. I wasn't aware we all had to provide proof of the things we say now lol. It might work that way on other forums but that's not how we roll here. I don't have any doubt that conversation happened but the problem is proving whether people are who they say they are. I'll keep this info at the back of my mind and we'll see if he was right. I think that's called keeping an open mind
  14. Sorry mate but that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I'm not a massive Stephen King fan but it's plainly clear a house with his name on would have just as much pull as a house with Silent Hill or The Walking Dead on it. You or I cannot for definite say whether they will or will not agree a deal with King in the future. Just because he has said no in the past does not mean he won't change his mind. Especially if they continue to make such good houses based off written sources like last years Poe house. Penn and Teller have had a hands on role in their house this year according to reports so there is nothing stopping King doing this in the future also. Once again I'm not disputing your info that he's refused in the past but you cannot guarantee things that have no guarantees.
  15. I personally agree. One year a Stephen King house will happen. Not saying they have one planned right now but it's inevitable. His material is just too popular and abundant and money talks in the long run
  16. It might be similar but not the same. Orlando's take on it. I'm definitely hearing it's a different facade.
  17. I'm with Hush on this one, I have to get this. After being part of creating the whole series of I blame Carl posts it would be criminal of me not to. Good job Legacy. Hush I want our photo took of us both wearing that shirt together. What do you say?
  18. Who knew we'd become fashion gurus and trend setters? And my teachers said I'd never amount to anything Pft lol
  19. Omg what have we started Hush lol? With the absence of a HNN t shirt this year maybe this would be the perfect replacement lol. I'd buy one especially if it had a cartoon Carl on it as well as the slogan lol.
  20. There was a line from the zombie movie Day Of The Dead "When there's no more room in hell the dead will walk the Earth". Maybe a walking dead scarezone or just roaming zombie hoardes
  21. Well the second one is a line from Ghostbusters 1 or 2 I believe.
  22. Who's up for a game of finding Carl lol?

    1. Sakura

Well, I know not to check in the house or anywhere else he was told to go. LMAO
