  1. Sorry for my absence everyone, I was on vacation after opening weekend and just came home last night! I am currently compiling song tracks tagged from both on here and other sources! May need a few days to a week to catch up, but I will get it up ASAP! Sorry for the inconvenience and not being on as much! I am home now and can get to work on the music! Thank you all for the help and patience!

  2. A couple of weeks back, they filled a couple of permits to build a new warehouse/parade building as the newest house locations. From what I’ve heard, this could be the last year for the sprung tents at Orlando before they move to Hollywood, which I actually find this very interesting. If they do a sequel or two of the houses from previous years that were over there, then they could do a send off kind of moment cause why not?

  3. Almost all of the permits are here, and the best thing about them is there are new codenames for the houses as the first part of the clues! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kD-hQsh8Z6_dBGS-b_bLP6CdpfJTg1MbhtEvYZwyjPc

  4. These are some confusing but really interesting permits. From what I’m hearing, a staggered operations are taking place at The Simpsons Ride (which will be on the chopping blocks soon) like what Back To The Future had before the closure and replacement. Looks like that attraction might be leaving sooner than what I’m expecting, since it had seen better days, but it’d crazy if they gut everything in there for an eleventh house even though that’s not very realistic. If that’s not the case, then they’re probably gonna install another parade building whether they could expand it or fill in for the sprung tents. https://fxtwitter.com/hnnightmares/status/1736881698057355446?s=46&t=2J2KPQJiV5SqYy9HPrqePg

  6. I hope some sort of official compilation ends up being made - there's a couple songs from this year I still haven't been able to identify, and having them provided directly by Universal would be great!

  10. Well whaddya know! They recently dropped a playlist of songs as hints for this year’s event.

  11. I can see a week by week announcement, starting with Stranger Things for this time, the Exorcist for the next week, and Monsters for the end of the month that not only lines well but also roll us right into Midsummer Scream with one of the Hollywood originals over there. Then in August, we get the final spec map update and later a full dump of originals, zones, and shows to finalize the full lineup.
    2 points
  12. Wouldn’t hold my breath on the 4-zone limit yet until the next spec map update. The New York Waterfront behind the Sting Alley where the Klownz were retain the total to 5.
    2 points
  13. Now there are some talks going on about the scarezones being reduced to four, meaning the the now Minions Land zone won’t be having it cause that particular IP with its own areas at other parks is never used for the event.

  15. I'm optimistic for this year. Definitely ok with a Last of Us house.

  16. LETS GOOOOOO. The Last of Us got announced and it’s based on the game too. Super hyped for this house

  17. Welp, all the rumored scarezones are now here. The Last of Us (Previously rumored) Dark Christmas A CyrptTV style Blumhouse Zone The return of Vamp with a Woodstock theme Jungle Zone (I hope it’s what I want)

  18. That sounds about right. Hopefully tomorrow or Thursday afternoon is our next house announcement. I’m guessing the rumored Phantom of the Opera house.

  19. Here are some writing translations. “Uncover The Truth” “The Signs Are Everywhere” “Hiding In Plain Sight” “Join The Quest For The Truth” ”If You Dare” “See You In The Fog” They’re all just teasers, but Universal’s HHN pages on all the Twitters and Facebooks are letting us know that another house announcement is coming real soon.

  20. Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I found a new song for the playlist, and for the HHN 19 playlist - This instrumental version of the song played in the deli scene in Scarey, and also the original version of the scene from 2009. Honestly surprised it hadn't been identified before!

  21. Hey everyone! Just got another new house concept done that took me more than a week, which is also music-related and this was one of the most requested ideas from readers on Discord. Just like what I did with Nine Inch Nails’ The Downward, I also gave My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade a house treatment that is lyrically about death and the reflection of life. I was inspired by one interpretation that was written by one fan on Reddit at the band’s official page, which made it more easier for me to adapt, translate, re-listen to the music, and understand the lyrics more with a bit of my own take to offer a unique experience done by a fan like myself for an offering that will blow y’all away. This isn’t like any other concepts I had done before, but man I am so proud of myself for all the hard work, effort, and inspiration. I hope you guys enjoy my newest piece! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Qgxo48eEFXbP_ZPDhTXQSiDFnqdYhU1oMK8OdYECO78/edit

  22. Here are some of the things I’m thinking. Universal Monsters: Either Black Lagoon or an Epic Universe Preview/Prequel Five Nights At Freddy’s: That should be on the cards. Netflix: It won’t be Stranger Things but something different that like Fear Street, The Fall of The House of Usher, or Wednesday Silent Hill: Just in case there are no plans to bring back the Last of Us for Part II The Weeknd: He technically made his return for the event at Singapore. Maybe he’ll loop back to the domestic parks. My honorable mentions. Nine Inch Nails: The Downward Spiral will turn 30 next year, and what a masterpiece that album is. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: It’s my most favorite Slasher flick, and it’ll turn 50 next year, but anniversaries are never on Universal’s minds. We already had it a couple of years ago. However, if it comes back again, then it’ll happen unintentionally like the Exorcist. The Gremlins: Chucky opened the door for this. What I don’t want. Another Blumhouse compilation. The Originals Poseidon’s Fury: If Dueling Dragons came back as a house, then this can as well. Plus we need more Greek Mythology houses in the vein of Hades Youkai: We were close to get a Japanese themed house during this year’s speculation, and it’s gotta happen soon already. Krampus: An original concept house based on the folklore instead of the movie from 26 was rumored to become a house, then it was reduced as a rumored zone, then wiped off from the map and shelved. I could see it coming back as a Victorian or a Tooth Fairy type of house. RUN: In case of no Slasher IP’s, why not bring back the original from 11? It’s gotta be what it was supposed to be similarly. Could be a good time for it. Another Zone turned into a House: Regardless of what they pick, they could do it randomly. I hope they go with my house concept of Anarch-Cade cause there’s enough potential for it. A Jungle-themed house: In case they can’t do Black Lagoon this year, then they should make one of my house concepts a reality. Doing a Jungle of Doom sequel with a vague setting would be narrow mistake creatively.

  23. IPs I think we’re getting are Five Nights at Freddy’s and Creature from the Black Lagoon. I think we could see a non icon become an icon(so maybe Cindy or Eddie. Hell, maybe even the Voodoo Queen or Nathaniel Crow). For originals, I’m expecting another cryptid and a returning original.

  24. The results are in! The overall winners of the “House of The Year” and “Zone of The Year” titles goes to…… Yeti and Vamp ‘69!
    1 point
  25. Since Vamp 69 is my most favorite zone of this year cause of the humor, my love of bands from the 60’s, and how much I go to concerts, I jokingly consider it as the fourth and my very first Woodstock. As always, it has once again gone wrong. The bottle neck issue aside, I’m glad Jungle is a fan favorite that it deserves for the immersive sets, good costumes, and some of the best claustrophobic scares. As for the houses, I feel like it’s really hard to tell which one is likely to be the overall winner of “The House of The Year” title cause they all felt like they were built for all guests to have their own number one favorites rather than jumping on the popularity bandwagons and that makes it fun as a contest.

  27. If they do this, then I’m looking forward to see how much they could reach on the Billboard charts, and how much streams they could get daily.

  28. As we all know, the Storyteller really has no backstory, so I decided to create my own out of boredom. Tell me what you think. Elsa Strict was born in the year 1934. From a very early age, she began to show telltale (no pun intended) traits of a sociopath. The most chilling was the fact she would bring dead animals home on her way back to school. Not only that, but she could also be heard muttering nonsensical tales about their deaths in her sleep, which were typically graphic and disturbing in nature. Around the age of 10, her abusive parents decided enough was enough. They would not stand for this behavior, especially after they had tried painstakingly to correct it. They gave her up for adoption and left her for good. Elsa’s strange behavior began to worsen as a result. She began to murder animals herself, and scarred the other orphans with her gruesome tales, retelling exactly what she did to the animals. Elsa was never adopted. Nobody would take her once they learned of her violent and chilling tendencies. On the day of her 18th birthday, she took her murderous desires to the next level. She left the orphanage and murdered a human being in cold blood, only to tell the tale to an undercover police officer the next day. This was her mistake. She was arrested and found guilty of murder. She was given a life sentence in the Shadybrook Rest Home for the Criminally Insane. It was only a matter of time before she killed an inmate gruesomely with a plastic knife. She was left to wither away in solitary confinement for the rest of her life. Guards would listen as Elsa became madder than ever, telling fictional tales of terror that had spawned in her sick mind sporadically. Elsa died at Shadybrook in 2005. Later that year, Universal Studios Orlando used some of Elsa’s sick stories as source material for their annual “Halloween Horror Nights.” Soon after this was announced, a trail of grisly murders swept across the states from Shadybrook all the way to Universal Orlando. Universal had awoken Elsa’s evil spirit. She is not a ghost. She is not a human. She is an entity of concentrated evil waiting to tell her tale once more.

  29. @Sinfear Just gave one of my house concepts a vast update for more details, additions, and better quality of writing. This is also the comedy house for my HHN themed event, Jungles of Fear that revolves around the Kremlings from the Donkey Kong Country series. Next, I’ll make one more house to complete the total, then update a couple of more houses, and finally complete the event concept. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Kquh6GKLEIsPbWprZxEH8QISvAPCOnnGI4mVPzyQ-sc/edit

  30. Just got home from Orlando after my trip at Universal, it’s gonna take some time for me to think of the rank lists from top to bottom. The houses were better than last year, and none of them were bad, especially the bottom tier just like what I had before at 30.
    1 point
  31. Thanks! I figured they would be scary and harmful in person if they had never went extinct. Gonna give one of my old house concepts an update, but it’ll probably be a slow pace, since I’ll be heading back to Orlando for Horror Nights next week. Then I’ll make one more house to complete the total, give two more old ones an update, and my Jungles of Fear themed event will be complete. Could take months, but it’ll be worth the time to make a well thought out idea.

  33. @Sinfear Just got my take of a Universal Monsters house done for my Jungles of Fear event themed concept. Though we’re technically getting it as a zone with Expedition Horror, but I have always wanted to write a house based on the Island of Lost Souls with the inclusion of the characters from the original story by HG Wells. Will it happen in reality? Probably not, but I mostly write things based on my own wants. Next I’ll give my very first house concept an update, then make a new one from scratch. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MV7vNr-zkgiNFTKr_tSfBqAn8eCWdcd9f8Eag4GN-XA/edit

  34. Last of Us for the 10th anniversary, Chucky for the 35th anniversary, Exorcist for the 50th anniversary, Monsters for the 100th anniversary, and Jungle of Doom zone for the 20th anniversary of the house at 13. Anniversaries aren’t really on their minds, but they’re going all out unintentionally.

  35. Most have been saying the show total was reduced to one, but It’s still two since Vamp and Dark Zodiac switched locations. As for Jungle, It’s so far getting closer to what I want with the ruins. However Legacy implied that they’re bringing back Jungle of Doom from 13 as a zone. Thank God that’s safe from being replaced.

  36. Apparently the 3.5 map of speculation has released. I’m sad to see Krampus go… but those originals are looking very good.

  37. Today’s the day I got my newest house concept done for my Jungles of Fear event theme! It’s an idea that will probably never happen in reality, but I have always wanted to do a Tribal house inspired by both Jungle of Doom at 13 and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre which is my most favorite slasher movie. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GIX7W6i2LeT6QKyPUsSfu7A7qghrbmMdUEBVFWPUJo8/edit

  38. This is the most I’ve ever been excited for an IP since Trick r Treat. The Last of Us is one of my favourite games so I’m super excited to see how this translates.

  39. And could be a double win for us in terms of personal preferences when it comes to certain themes. You want more snow-related things while I want more jungle-related things. On the first spec map, an original concept Krampus house was rumored, but never went through the second, so I’m kinda wondering that we might get something related to that as a zone. As for the rumored jungle zone, there’s a lot possible themes they could choose from like an ancient curse, a Scary Tales-esque Jungle Book with a Hindu lore spin, a Tarzan theme that may revolve around La who is a sorta lesser known character from the books, and at the craziest, they could do Jurassic Park again. These are all some guesses of mine, but you might have your own take it.

  40. @Sinfear @DocNiktMarr @pumpkinbot343 Just got my newest zone idea done for the Jungles of Fear theme event. It’s my take of doing an African-themed zone inspired by the origins of the Zombie concept that is my best of doing an immersive and cohesive take rather than reusing the same familiar type of vibe that’s been done before for God knows how many times in pop culture. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Lx6CUmygysxdikH7im6M2rBHRFDmZPZe79Lpz40yUvs/edit

  41. @Sinfear @DocNiktMarr @pumpkinbot343 Got my newest house idea done for my Jungles of Fear event theme that is another Havoc sequel with an original Dogs of War super soldier character simply known as the Rumbler who goes on a rescue mission to liberate his squad members inspired by Rambo! Hope you guys enjoy it! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LhwL3ZO2WZzlt1FbFU0WLCK6y5Ja8Hwph0dLH8MKL1s/edit

  42. Got my newest scarezone idea done that is an original concept with original characters, revolving around the carnivorous plants in a surreal jungle with some desert elements inspired by Seeds of Extinction! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LCbB4qjyOiKSG-J18uO9I1F3sNPxrQg4aHzFuOI2mdk/edit

  44. Finally got my newest house idea done inspired by Yeti at 29 that mostly takes place in a Newari mansion at the Jungles of Nepal (yes there are rainforests over there). I don’t see it as a one and done thing cause it does have some potential to make a return in some form if you go by different settings. It’s basically a traditional haunted house that crosses over between Terror of The Yokon and Expedition Everest. Thought you’d like this, @Sinfear cause you’re a sucker for Snow-related themes. https://docs.google.com/document/d/10us08JlQaySsCYGWsaGQrABlzGE-xT-uK7GXFIiiJJ0/edit

  45. Hazbin Hotel isn't as similar to Universal Horror Hotel. UHH is a hotel haunted by lost souls, HH is a show where a Princess of Hell has an uphill battle rehabilitating demons. My thoughts, the lineup is solid, but AVP is now a Disney property so it's unlikely. And since the Hollywood Universal Mazes include music by Slash, would Dracula's Bloodbath and Clowns 3D both have original Slash music for the year? Because that'd be awesome! My concern with the scarezones is that Helluva Boss is at the gates. While I'd be fine with horror cartoons being represented in Halloween Horror Nights, having the first scarezone be Helluva Boss seems risky. I'd swap it with Dark Angels. I'm a bit more curious as to what the scarezones would entail, though.

  47. Here’s my biggest dream house for HHN inspired by the Jungle Book as a spin-off of Scary Tales like Asylum In Wonderland from 25 but not in 3D. I think it would fit perfectly for either Soundstage 23 and 24 for a big and immersive experience to make guests feel like they’re walking through an actual jungle, and they’re big enough to bring larger-sized and taller plants in. It would make a lot of sense to give it a haunt treatment cause you have more than enough characters and the books are more darker than the Disney adaptations. Would love to hear some of your own ideas and suggestions of my dream house to mix in. Title The Jungle House: Perils of Terror The Backstory Mowgli was unexpectedly separated from his/her (yes, there’s a female version of that character in certain adaptations) wolf pack family and gets lost into the deepest, darkest and most dangerous part of the jungle, as you follow his/her perils from start to finish. Description “Lost In the deep, dark jungles of India after a separation from the wolf pack, Mowgli the young and wild “human-cub” goes through the dangerous perils of what he/she called home as you follow through. Who could make it out alive the most?” The Facade The facade is a large ancient Indian ruin with terrifying stone gargoyles of mythical creatures in Hinduism, surrounded by jungle plants and misty fogs. Howling wolves along with other animals noises and eerie traditional Indian music could be heard. Room Number One The first room is filled with treasures, cobwebs, animal corpses and Indian artifacts. Guests will be greeted by a chaotic bandar-log (monkey) with a sinister smile who laughs like a maniac. Two more of the monkeys defends their treasures to scare off the guests with large, blood-stained bones in their grips, yelling at them to go away. Room Number Two The second room is an outdoor jungle with plants, trees, and bushes. Behind you is the ruin you had walked through. While walking through deep, dark jungles of India, two Bandar-logs with vicious gorilla-like faces jumps on the trampolines, hiding around the plants to scare off the guests. Room Number Three The third room is also the same as the second but with Bagheera brutally eating either a hunter from a village or a British Colonialist on an ancient stone table and Baloo coming out at the guests for a scare, as you enter the next room. Room Number Four The outdoor jungle experience continues with vines and leaves hanging to walk through on the left and right where Mowgli with wounds and cuts on his/her body pops out behind them, wearing only a pair of loincloth/bikini-like two piece on. The main character begs for help from the perils and find his/her wolf pack family. Room Number Five The next room is a cave of dark psychedelic colors of meaty snake coils built by Kaa (as a female naga with a sari on and humanize-reptilian head shape). You hear her seductive voice in a mothering tone, telling you everything is okay and stay safe with her while seeing Mowgli struggling in a cocoon of thick, heavy coils with only his/her head visible. The naga slithers out of her coils she made as boo-holes to scare the guests, yelling at them how delicious they are with her forked tongue sticking out of her mouth. Room Number Six You’re back in the outdoor themed area of the jungle, noticing Mowgli managed to escape from Kaa with an empty cocoon of her coils, but she comes back for another scare out of the bushes, yelling at guests that they’ll will be in her grasp and stomach other than saying how delicious they are. Room Number Seven Continuing the outdoor experience of the jungle, you hear loud animal noises and stampedes with elephants, rhinos, hippos, leopards, and gazelles coming out of the plants, trees and bushes left and right. Room Number Eight You then enter a village that was destroyed by the animals after a stampede where some of the villagers pop up in front of guests for help. One of them is even a cannibal who is suffering from starvation. Room Number Nine You enter one of the village’s homes featured gory corpses of the victims who were killed by Shere Khan. One of his victims is still alive, warning the guests to get out. The tiger himself hides behind one of the white bloody curtain cloths that may look like if they were entrances to the next room you go to but aren’t for a scare with a burnt mark on his face after being caught on the red flower (fire) by Mowgli before you exit to different paths of the final room from the left and right. Room Number Ten (Alternate Left) You’re back at the outdoor jungle again with a wildfire occurred after all the destruction happened at the village where you see Shere Khan eating Mowgli for vengeance, walking into a dark, pitch black cave with very little lights for one last scare from the tiger himself before exiting. Room Number 10 (Alternate Right) Like the left side of the final room, you’re also back in the jungle with with a wildfire happening, but you’ll get a different experience, as you see Mowgli killing Shere Khan with a knife and also eating the tiger’s organs out of his body to survive. You walked into a dark, pitch black cave for the final scare from not only the main character, but also his/her mentors Baloo and Bagheera. @themazethinker @Grime

  49. Well SS Frighttanic had ghosts in the line dressed in period clothing. (The one I saw was on crutches and was missing a leg) Also Remember the bum like guys at the first psycho scareapy? they were awesome too. I had forgotten about Nightmare Creatures and Dark Torment. That was neat. I thought Nightmare Creatures was kind of weak but being able to walk underneath Kong was incredible. (much like the time my wife and I got stuck on The Mummy and were evacuated underneath the ride) Actually I think most of the houses were very inovative in 2000. Total Chaos had the "elevator", slide and ball pit. The Fearhouse had that cool cat room they piled you into killed the lights and attacked your legs with cats paws... Anixety in 3-D had that rotating mirror room. Well universal Classic Monster Mania wasn't really innovated but was still good.

  50. Back in the year 2000 we had a house which was partially based on the seven sins: Dark Torment. After dieing in an Earthquake you walked down through he levels of Hell and saw sinners punished for these. But, we also were encouraged by the Event itself (implicitly) to indulge all these sins! Pride: by showing off beads we caught from the parade. Lust: by ogling the hot girls and guys used as "distraction scares" and also in parade and B&T. Envy: by fuming over those who had express passes. Greed: by scrambling after doubloon tossed from the parade. Gluttony: turkey legs. Sloth: they set up bars so you could buy drinks without even getting out of line. Wrath: from waiting in line too long. Of course now the absence of the parade takes away half the temptations to these delightful vices.
