  1. I'm extremely enthused about this house - I felt the 3D was more effective in In-Between than just about any of the other 3D houses I've been through. The follow up details given about this - and really, several of the houses - gives me the impression that the intention IS to be much more intense and visceral throughout the event this year; this is something that many of us have been clamoring for. Once past the vortex, I'm really interested to see what tableaus they chose, and how much will be straight demon experiences versus the demon/vengeful victim re-enactments.

  2. I am not here to rain on anybody's parade or to spoil anyones fun but there are those who post things on youtube and the web claiming that they are either songs or audio from Halloween Horror Nights houses and/or scarezones that are just simply false. I know this because myself and the other users here who work on this song list project pretty much year round go thru and very painstakingly at times listen to multiple recordings from inside each house and each scarezone. Sometimes recorded on cell phones and sometimes actual source audio . I am not going to be so bold as to say that we never miss anything but I think a lot of what people put out there is wishful thinking and not reality. Which is fine as long as you identify it as such. I do a soundtracks to the event every year just like many of you do and if there isn't any audio I find something that fits as well. But I don't put it on the list here nor do I claim it is actual event music. Sorry I just had to get that off of my chest.

  3. Looks very promising to me. I absolutely LOVED The Inbetween. It was my first ever 3D house, and it really impressed me with the different ways they chose to keep guests off balance and disoriented (that spinning votex in 3D was torture, especially when the line was super slow...but I LOVED IT!!. Also gotta love the yarn room!). It sounds like HHN is going for a much darker and violent tone for Afterlife, so that excites me right off the bat. Hoping that they don't go the route where we are Robert and thusly his victims are attacking us (I want some grisly death tableaus darnit!). Either way, it sounds like Afterlife is shaping up to be an original and creative house. The Inbetween set a high bar for 3D houses, but I feel that Afterlife has a decent shot at reaching or passing that bar.

  4. I'm guessing that the scareactors in this house will have to shave their heads again.

  5. Cheap, reusing the same house as The Spawning the year prior only with a new paint job and props. But the cast had a ridiculous amount of intensity and aggression that made it all work. I'm legitimate curious to see if a new cast can match the original.

  6. Her legend is one of tragedy…of murder. To hear her mournful cries sends chills down your spine colder than the murky, watery depths she drowned her victims within. Forced to eternally walk the earth, she seeks others to share her pain and suffering – now and forever… Guests will come face to face with the 500-year old legend that has haunted millions of people in Latin America for generations, as the popular Mexican legend La Llorona comes to life as a haunted house at Universal Orlando Resort's Halloween Horror Nights 23.

  7. There's still one more night of reveals after tonight (12-16). At this point, tomorrow night's reveal could be anything. Maybe the commercial?

  8. It could easily be misdirection for people who think there are only seven houses. Notice that PS hasn't given any really obvious RE hints. It's like the post-credit stinger for the event. "That's all folks, it's time to go home. Oh by the way, we're doing Resident Evil. We forgot to mention that before. Oops."

  10. Even though Hollywood gets Sabbath this year, I would hope that they play Ozzy's Crazy Train in this house.

  11. Since there is no love for the font and some dislike for the artwork... Two quotes: @HorrorNightsORL: There are most definitely some InBetween homages... UV,Lasers, demonic souls... All wrapped in a brand new pulp type story... Very excited! @HorrorNightsORL: @MrBowman71 honestly... Johnny Cash's "there ain't no grave" just set the tone. And pulp comics... Just provided the right mindset to write. It's based on 1930's pulp comics.

  12. Are we 100% sure there won't be an icon? It's starting to seem possible we may see one, just maybe not as a large marketing tool.

  13. We'll go inside the train. The finale should definitely be on the train.

  14. Very stoked for this sequel to what ended up as my sweetheart house for 2010. The actors brought an "insane" amount of intensity to the first house; I'm really excited to see what happens when that gets paired with non-recycled sets. In fact, the descriptions thus far, including starting in the cars, sound very promising. I think it was Doomsday in 1999 that had a scene in a subway car that I found very effective; I look forward to the train cars providing an even more immersive experience. GO DOGS!!!

  15. From Twitter: "The battle will begin in the claustrophobic confines of train cars...then derailment into an all out war amongst the twisted wreckage..."

  16. Not to say I told you so, but everyone always thinks that I'm a fraud or BS when I put up my predictions and/or facts that I know. But today's announcement more specifically the name is something I said months ago. But noo, don't listen to Timeout. Either way I'm super excited to see HAVOC return. (look at the date that I posted this) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200640832122296&set=a.2519157657333.2127483.1205034387&type=3&theater

  17. I imagine we'll be going inside the train, which is something I can't wait to see! Not only could it provide a sense of claustrophobia, the cart can have windows to both our left and right which feels like at either side a scareactor can pop out and reach for you! I'm very excited to see how this house fleshes out.

  20. It's not a popular viewpoint? This house is, essentially, the spiritual succesor to the In Between. I can't wait.

  21. I guess this isn't a popular viewpoint, but I'll say it anyway - I can't WAIT for this house! From what Aiello tweeted about it, it looks like it will be fantastic! Then again, I LOVED The In Between, so to hear that they will "pay homage" to that house in some ways was thrilling for me. Plus, I always love this original stuff, and I think the concept is a smart one. It's not the typical haunted prison because serial killers were once housed there. This is a cool twist.

  22. Prison opening, the first scene will be the electric chair, likely followed by the vortex tunnel. The structure of this house will be very similar to The In-Between.

  23. HHN 23 ‏@HorrorNightsORL12h "This place needed to be cut out. I painted that town red, RED, RED!!!!!" I would kill'em all again. Carey was mine. Sparky, light me up." hmmm?? insane assylum style opening? i can hope.

  24. So it seems that Bobby "the Blade" isn't the one that terrorizes from the afterlife, but the victims will terrorize him.

  25. Well some of them work year round on HHN. Used to start early in the year but they pretty much don't stop anymore.. that would be a fun job

  26. Im pretty sure they can sit back on their rocker and think exclusively about hhn because Harry Potter is the "only thing left" to finish.

  28. I heard there were some impressive water features in this... even more so being in a tent. Also been assured we will see drowned kids.

  29. This house has a lot of potential from what I've seen of the Hollywood versions. If they let us use some of those huge props from last year that would be sweet.

  30. Won't be posted, since those photos would have to be taken backstage.
