  1. Is tonight preview night? If it is I would like to offer a tip for those coming. Please do not judge the entire event just on the preview. Chances are that everything will not be at %100. I was at the RoF cast preview and at least two scarezones were deserted, some effects were down in the houses, and the floor during the Wizard of Oz scene in ST3 was sandy when it was not during the event. I'm just saying all of this cause some people last year (with no disrespect to them at all) jumped the gun and assumed the whole event will be like the preview. Plus there might be some people on this board that are going for the first time to a cast preview and and don't realize this yet. Here's looking forward to this year.

  2. Most people going through the house especial drunk obnoxious ones might not even notice the buttons... Besides Uni knows how people act, if they were worried I'm sure they wouldn't have involved any buttons. I'm sure if they needed to they could add some reset time or something so that people won't hold up the line. Also, sir you need to calm down.

  3. I dislike how they are using "2012" (Hollywood inspired?) instead of "22" on everything except one hat. Marketing for both coasts, but at least they could of put 22 on the house shirt since Hollywood don't have the same houses. I do like the variety of stuff though!

  6. This house met my expectations. I love the idea of Universal doing a "classic" haunted house and the execution and story were done well. This house had really great detail that will probably get overlooked due to the color scheme of an old dilapidated house and low light. That being said, each room has really nice touches and great focal points, as well as secondary items that deserve a look. I really liked the fact that Universal used the vortex in a very different way this year. The rooms flow really well together with the exception of the transition from the "green house" to the "attic" and then the "cellar". The scares were abundant and there was a nice mix between aggressive and spooky scares. They really have a great audio scheme, and T.J. said that the sound would be different and more intense this year due to use of smaller "plantable speakers" and you can tell. The combination of the decor, detail (mildewy walls and sheets), and smell (mildew or musk pumped in, probably froggys fog or scent box) really immerse you into the environment. The house gives alot more than most will notice... when you go through, take in the whole environment, up, down, side to side and in between, and let the scares find you. The facade is creepy and convincing, my only complaint would be the out of place scareactors outside of the facade, and the lack of a true climax- It was more of a rollercoaster than a crescendo. MAKE Note of-... entryway, vortex hall, greenhouse, library (grab a book lol) and our "Wrong side of the bed" room. I give this house a 7 out of 10- for now -and I am interested to see how this house will evolve throughout the course of the event. Well done!!

  7. Last year, Saturday, Oct. 8. It rained the entire night, which meant no scarezones. I love the streets more than anything at HHN, so yeah... that sucked. There was one plus to the crappy weather: the crowds got sick of the rain around midnight and started leaving the park in droves. At least four houses became walk-ons... so the last two hours before closing weren't so bad

  10. It is this house and this house alone that is dragging me to Orlando this year. I've been after them to make a Silent Hill maze since 2004, at least, so I kinda have to go now. Thing is, SIlent Hill...at least GOOD Silent Hill, say the first three or four games...is all about dread. It's about not wanting to look through that hole in the wall, or not wanting to go through that next door (or in this case, next set of freezer flaps) for fear of what might be waiting. It isn't about things screaming and lurching at you from the dark, which is kinda what HHN does. That feeling of dread is a difficult one to accomplish, and if they can achieve even a fraction of it, it will be worth the trip. And also I hope they don't feature the Boogeyman over Pyramid Head...PH is an inspired, almost ridiculous WTF of an enemy, whereas B-man is just a big guy with a trenchcoat and a hammer. He's not anywhere near as interesting as PH, with his pversized helmet and penchant for mannequin-rape. (See Silent Hill 2). I have high hopes for this maze, I really do. Which only means, of course, that they have farther to fall when they're dashed.

  14. This is not a rumor, it is a fact. Penn said on his podcast (Penn's Sunday School) this week that on Friday night they will be in the final room of the house. He said all night but I can't imagine they won't take breaks. He also made mention that they will be showing up several times unannounced throughout the event to do the same thing. He also talks a bit about the process and some of the other houses. It's worth checking out, just search Penn's Sunday School in itunes, it's the one posted this past Sunday (16th). He talks about HHN for the last 20 minutes or so.

  16. I saw the tv commercial(s) and heard the radio commercial(s) today and it wasn't "pretty much all TWD." Sure TWD is a big focal point but they are also pushing Silent Hill and Alice Cooper as the other two of the main three houses. Don't know what you've been seeing/hearing ad wise besides maybe the Publix ads.

  20. seriously? What other house are they going to completely expose?!? Oh wait we only really have two that haven't been. I'm not watching that one either. Next year why don't they just give us the blue prints and walk through description in March and completely destroy any anticipation...
