  1. It is possible to do a house based on magic and illusion without having scareactors just standing around doing magic tricks.

  2. Oh so its a dumb idea for someone of celebrity status to come in and create an original house? Hmmm... funny. It has worked for Hollywood since 1998. Clive Barker (1998, 1999, 2000), Rob Zombie (1999, 2000), WWF's The Undertaker (2000), Alice Cooper (2011). Oddly enough, you have no idea how good or bad a house would be if Penn & Teller (or anyone else for that matter) were to create it. Just because you don't like the idea of it happening, doesn't mean it isnt true.

  3. Maybe the zombies have started a public awareness campaign that they're not all bad and they threatened a lawsuit.

  4. While we've got some awesome debate going on (and thank you all for keeping it civilized, I think I speak for the entire team when I say we really appreciate it) I'd like to say please keep all "I hope we get *something random and unrelated*" posts in the wishful thinking thread. Speculation is for rumors based off of clues and for any information we've already gotten. Just trying to keep things a bit organized. You may continue with your (civil) bickeri- *ahem* debating

  5. What has the Undertaker done for horror? Honestly. Let's take this further though: What has Arbor Day and Easter done for Horror before HHN? What has Bill and Ted done for horror? They're a staple. You're automatically assuming that just because someone doesn't do horror they can't do horror. And that is the wrong way to look at it. Anything can become scary done right.

  7. Ok I don't think we will get a huge theme this year(ya know with an Icon, backstory, and were all the houses tie together.) But I do still expect there to be a theme...We are Orlando...not Hollywood were ALL our houses are movies...I believe some of the houses this year are still going to be original like the Gargoyles, Victorian manor, and Dead exposure type house...But anyways I do expect this years event to have a basic Zombie apocalypse theme..Kinda like Universal Studios hase been infected by the Zombie apocalypse (especially with that event overview that was leaked on the website...but then Universal took it down..)

  8. If there's any truth to Alice Cooper coming to Orlando, my guess is that it'll be the next house reveal. I think they'll hold off on Penn & Teller, especially if they really are going to be the primary focus.

  9. I've actually been quite pleased with what all the houses have appeared to be thus far, including Penn & Teller. My primary concern was the potential of crowd flow problems if the house and scarezone count went down, as well as concern that there wouldn't be any other value-add if that were to happen. I must say that, thus far, Uni has come a long way to allay those concerns (especially with the "dark, darken, darker" and "face to face" hints that seem to be cropping up). I guess I'd like to hear a bit more info before totally discounting a Penn and Teller house; it has seemed to be a pretty strong likelihood from several sources at this stage. Terribly pleased with the reveals so far... PLEASE let them have seriously upped the number of actors this year - I keep feeling like they might have. ETA: I want herds.

  11. Neither does getting cast, unfortunately.

  12. The monkey from Alladin. Actually, ABU is an "Active Back-Up," a position that can fill in for regular performers who aren't there.

  13. Sure they can use the projections inside a maze! Check out this video from this year's Transworld convention using projection technology: [media=] Now imagine what they can do with Silent Hill

  14. And just because they've been cast in a particular location, that doesn't mean they will be working in that location when rehearsals roll around.

  15. Many Mardi Gras floats are parked under the Parade Pavilion and covered with tarps. From my understanding, they apparently only use the one garage style door for the Superstar floats & its in the back. There is also empty space in the center for float maintenance. The rest of the floats are shoved on the HHN side of the parade building. The interior is huge. Keep in mind, they also have Macy's parade floats as well. I would be surprised if all of the MG floats were parked under the pavilion. Eitherway, thats 3 parades, and only one of them is "active" on a daily basis. The permit for the 7th house has been filed. They did it internally by using the already existing SS44 house permit. The fee has been paid, the permit has been reviewed, so now we're just waiting for the new one to show up and them to start construction. Despite SS33 being on the rehearsals listing, they have no reason to delay house construction there because VIP/special event dinners can go elsewhere, but no construction has begun inside. And like previously stated, people have been CAST (NOT "casted") in B79 which is the parade building. However, it has been said that there has been no house construction in there yet. Most likely because they'll need to figure out spacing. Keep in mind, rehearsals don't start until Sept 3rd. So they have roughly 1 month & 2 weeks to get a house built & fully themed.

  16. I'm thinking right now the theme for this year is the end of the world. Walking Dead a post apocalyptic world with zombies, Silent Hill essentially hell on earth, Alice's house could be like Alice Cooper: School's Out and it's like mass chaos and anarchy etc...you see where I'm going with this.

  17. Hollywood is by far a more R-Rated event compared to Orlando. Death Drums only had one sexed up show, the other two not so much. The jello shot girls are not really any more slutified than a bartender (actually they wear more than a bartender). As for Bill & Ted... hah. The show is barely a PG-13 and that is coming from a #1 fan of the show who will defend it until I die. If anything, it needs more sex appeal just like the rest of the event. Hollywood is more hardcore and isn't afraid to do so. 2007's F13 house in Hollywood had a sex-scene kill 2009's SAW house in Hollywood had a frozen naked female body. All of the years they had Chucky's Insult Emporium I'm sure there are more worthy things at Hollywood that Freak or Zombieman could list. As for the Silent Hill nurses, it is a little ridiculous that Orlando seriously felt the need to cover up the iconic game character's chest (by that I mean the character is iconic not their chest you pervs lol). My point is, the event is not for kids & its not like the kids aren't already SEEING the sexualized nurses already since they play the games. Hey now... Residently Evil isn't just "zombies". Not in the sense of TWD or Zombieland, Dawn of the Dead etc... there is the whole genetics lab aspect. Not to mention all of the mutations which provide all sorts of unique monsters. Nemesis, Tyrant, lickers, etc... so if UNI was to adapt RE into a house, i'd say it would provide something "new" & "fresh" to the event just like Silent Hill is going to do this year... See.. I found a way to tie this post into SH

  18. I think you posted in the wrong thread. This belongs in the speculation thread for Hollywood's event.

  19. Alone we know you hate event. You tell us every year. I'm still puzzled why you go or why you come here to complain. But look on the brightside... It doesn't look like it will be "too blue" this year.

  20. Complaints about HHN & its advertising has been going on for years... it even dates back to the "Frightmares" logo of the gremlin keeping the eyelid open.... People complained about 2002's I4 Caretaker billboard with its green glowing eyes.... calling it "demonic" In 2007, parents complained about Freddy, Jason & Leatherface being on the Burger King tray liners & cups in 2008, mothers complained about the rather tame & not-so-scary Bloody Mary billboards being "too scary" & "causing their children to have nightmares", UNI's response to this complaint..... they put up MORE billboards lol I'm pretty sure there were complaints in 2009 as well... the point is... censoring the event in any form is just being weak & giving the parents more power. And i'm sorry, but there are worse things to be seen on billboards or tv than a pair of silent hill nurse boobs... just sayin. lol And this is for a HORROR event that even has a "May Not Be Suitable For Children Under 13" warning on the website. Typical Soccer Mom Reaction: "Oh hey there was another hacked & slash body on the 6'o'clock news, no big deal though. But OMGZ I CANT BELIEVE THERE IS HORROR PORN ON A HORROR EVENT'S WEBSITE! My child must not be exposed to a character's revealing outfit from a videogame i bought him for his bday last year!"

  21. Technically... you could say we know two out of the 7, but that is a completely different story. ^this makes me laugh because back when The Vault was around, videogames were always the one thing 75% of the members wanted to see brought to life at HHN. And Silent Hill was definitely at the top of the list. Thank you for providing us with lulz.

  22. This. "NO! We want original stories and characters. We don't want to share anything with Hollywood. Let them do IPs." "OMG!!!1!!!! SILENT HILL!!!1111!!!! THANK YOU UNIVERSAL!!!! YOU'RE BRILLIANT!!!!1!!!!!" "No Walking Dead? BOOOOOO!!!!" Next year, when it's five IP houses (and one of them is Silent Hill again), no one can complain. That will be what you asked for.

  23. i was thinking, IF we get a silent hill street in new york, what if every 10 to 15 min the siren goes off and they use the projectors to change the buildings like we were entering the dark world like they did last year with acid assault building crumble
