  1. They wanted to do something similar to that in 2005 where they had ALL the street actors change cast at the front of the park at once. I think it is safe to assume that they are going to have Walking Dead House and Street change cast at the same time and let them have fun in the streets for a minute or two.
  2. I always buy the alternative shirts...mainly because those are on sale at the end of the year. If they have Hoodies again I'll buy another one.
  3. Yeah, that's not how law works. There will be safe zones. There is this thing called hype, I don't know if Facebook has heard of it or not.
  4. I don't have a problem with real founded complaints (my friends over at OU know about the MK issues), and I can even see how people have become jaded over the years. It just makes sense, they offer a great product and it might be expensive but it's the best damned product there is. But there comes a point where it just gets to me and I have to say something. If you're complaining about house names or the event being to "blue" chances are you need to be called the fuck out. If you didn't like a house everyone else liked or are upset over the loss of a house, than that's your opinion and you have a right to voice it. I think the ones of us who are complaining about the complainers (albeit, slightly paradoxical) just don't understand where this backlash has came from. The only thing I can think of is a reduction of houses and a lackluster website, but those things don't define the event. Ironically the people I see complaining most tend to be the people who enjoyed last year and 20 more so. It seems that most of the arguments that I see for this year supposedly "sucking" are very flawed as well, often citing that this year isn't very original when 2007 had 5 IP's and 2009 had 5ish as well (I say "ish" due to the Frankenstein and Dracula conundrum). If you go to the event and hate it, than bitch all you want. I just don't see how well founded these debates are for "This is the worst year ever", when the only really two negative things so far are a lack of a traditional website and a house reduction.
  5. They've done this literally before, what they're doing is taking the zones off the map, but having them in their normal locations. For safety reasons they can't have actors running all over the parks and up and down on sidewalks and what not. Here is a way to break down how they're doing scarezones this year, think of 2008 how they had hordes and how they had hard scarezones, now image they're not on the map. That simple.
  6. In 2008 the actual investigation took a while to get started and lasted for roughly 6 or 7 weeks culminating on Nov. 1. In 2010 it started in early August but had no in park investigations. I stand by my statement, we're getting SOMETHING.
  7. A. They have done calls like this before. To the general public, and to media. In 2006 they had that awesome phone dialer program where you could get the Caretaker to call your friends and family. B. Everyone talking about 'Games' and something being unearthed I think it's safe to 100% lock in Legendary Truth, the ARG being back. If I remember correctly, in 2010 the Legendary Truth had a lot to do with Fear being unearthed and unleashed. I'm not 100% sure but I really feel like it had something to do with an artifact being recovered. I know that Universal said LT would return. Someone who participated more heavily in that though correct me if I'm wrong.
  8. If people weren't speculating over an instagram feed it would be over something. Point being Speculators gonna Speculate. If you want to be negative about it than more power to you, but it's pretty much like bitching about a new day. CURSE YOU NEW DAY! I hate when you come every day after 11:59!!!!
  9. It'd be stupid to not have it in Finnegans where people can pre-game. It just won't have the double exit.
  10. ...Yeah....I'm just going to wait two weeks and not deal with this shit.
  11. Go to Finn's during happy hour, get pretty toasted, continue to bide yourself over with beer.
  12. Everything is an original concept in form so I think the whole "It's Not Original" line is irrelevant. It's quite apparent that just because there is a source material that they can't pull a house out of thin air. It took time, effort and dare I say creativity to take the decent movies 'Doomsday' or 'Dead Silence' to pretty good houses. It's not as simple as taking source material and plopping it down, especially since 'Nightmare on Elm Street', 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre', and 'Friday the 13th' all had completely original story lines and weren't "best of's" houses. If you want to really get into finding "inspiration" from current movies and tv shows Scarezones are some of the worst about that.
  13. Is it possible to get some cell phone sized ones? Like 960x800?
  14. They do data mining for a reason, I'll leave it at that.
  15. I decided to list my two favorite from every year I've gone because quite frankly making a top 10 list is too much of a pain in the ass. 2006 PsychoScareapy: Maximum Madness Psycho Path: The Return of Norman Bates 2007 A Nightmare On Elm Street: DreamWalkers Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Fleshwounds 2008 Body Collectors: Collections of the Past Dead Exposure 2009 Frankenstein: Creation of the Damned Dracula: Legacy of Blood 2010 Catacombs: Black Death Rising Horror Nights: The Hallow'd Past 2011 Winter's Night: Haunting of Hawthorne Cemetery The In Between I can however make a bottom 5 list. 5. The Spawning 4. Zombiegeddon 3. The Orfailanage 2. Vampyr: Blood Bath 1. Reflections of Failure
  16. I think the last dual run was Frightanic and Museum of Horror
  17. No. At some point permits have to be released. Black Mask, we have no evidence what-so-ever that there will be a decrease in quality. We don't know if we're going to get more intense houses with larger budgets, we don't know if there will be twice as many people on the streets this year, we don't know these things, so until we do, maybe we should quit judging the event based on purely speculative information....
  18. I mean that's on you if you want an event almost similar to HHN 21 and HHN 20 for the next 10 years, but speaking for myself solely that's the farthest thing from what I want.
  19. I really think that next year you'll see an absurd amount of money sunk into the event. Comcast can look at past records all they want and see how much this event has helped in 3rd quarter attendance slump all they want but until they experience it they won't really get it. Once they really grasp this cash cow I think they'll try and beef it up even more.
  20. I honestly think all this bitching and moaning is hilarious. Get over it people. The fact of the matter is HHN is a seasonal event, and yes I do love it dearly just as much as you guys, but I like Universal Studios Florida a lot more considering it's kinda sorta vital to HHN. USF is getting HUGE improvements, and if the event has to suffer for one year I really couldn't get a shit. Here's the breakdown of what's going to happen. 1. Everyone's going to continue to bitch due to uncertainty 2. Some information will come out. Everyone will get excited then complain about it. (Just like every year) 3. Repeat step 2 multiple times. I like to call this phenomenon the Excitma-Bitch 4. A big reveal will happen. Everyone's excited about HHN. "This could be the worst HHN ever but I'm so excited." 5. Everyone goes to the event and the vast majority of us are STILL happy because at the end of the day there is an HHN with houses, and streets, and scares and booze. People bitch about the event year, in my 5 years of following speculation I've never had a year where people didn't complain. People complained about how bad New Line would be, how shitty Bloody Mary would be, the absurdity of an exclusive "Movie Year", how crazy it is to get rid of all the old franchises, a lot of things last year and my all time favorite how there was too much blue at the event. Point of the matter is people will complain. There is also a difference between being critical of something you've experienced and watching the trailer for a movie you're uncertain about but claiming it should win a Razzie based solely on that trailer. Come on guys, you're all going to go and atleast 75% of you will enjoy the event over all. Can we be bestfriends? And I'm really not trying to start a conflict but I wouldn't bitch if my parents were giving me a free vacation to Halloween Horror Nights, even if it was the "worst year". In a few years the days of free vacations will be long over and you'll be wishing your parents were paying the $7000 for your trip.
