  1. Smile or laugh, then give the scareactor a thumbs up. I love it!
  2. That scream was actually my triggered sound effect when I was The Thing: Assimilation in 2007.
  3. Looking forward to meeting some of you this year too! I'm a veteran? Jeez, this'll be my fifth year. Feeeeeeeeeeeeel sooooooo ooooooolllld....
  4. As a former Thing: Assimilation cast member, I'm happy to hear that many of you have fond memories of it.
  5. Did they ever specifically say no more movie houses? I don't remember that from last year. Even if A&D or Universal PR said it, it seems kinda silly to assume they'd NEVER do film tie-ins.
  6. Also, Rocky Horror isn't that good of a musical. Yeah, I said it.
  7. Speaking as a former Thing: Assimilation cast member, yes, we had issues with drunks messing with the actors operating the monsters. There was a night where the dog puppet actor did get a pretty serious arm injury (some idiot slammed both fists RIGHT DOWN on the puppet), but he luckily didn't have anything broken. One effect didn't even make it past employee preview night. In the hallway before the rec room, one of the windows on the right had a Thing face that would pop out. It ended up getting torn down by someone, and I don't think it got replaced.
  8. Unrelated, but I didn't even have look at the username from the above post and could tell from the sentences that it was the true voice of Invader_butters.
  9. I know Universal has been impressing upon us that this will be a farewell year for many icons and traditions, and I really do hope that they stick to their guns on it. I'm all for starting fresh and wouldn't mind if Jack, the Caretaker, the Usher, the Storyteller, and the Director were put into storage for a good while. Even under-utilized icons like Mary, Eddie, Cindy, Darkness, Terra Queen, etc. should probably ake a break for now. Again, love'em all, but seeing new characters will be more exciting. Old franchises and houses need to be concluded too. No more Psychoscareapy, Body Collectors, All Nite Die-In, Treaks, Chainsaw Drill Team, etc. Don't bring back Midway of the Bizarre, Deadtropolis, or whatever favorites fans may have. Looking at HHNXX, there are some interesting ideas that could develop more in future years. The most obvious new franchise would most likely be the continuing story of Z-Day from Zombiegeddon and Zombie Gras. I don't immediately recall HHN having a reaccuring zombie franchise, and it seems you could imagine some good houses or zones from seeing how Z-Day has affected various parts of the country. I'd love to see Havoc's Dogs of War take it to the streets. Give'em a scarezone! The New Yorkshire setting from Saws 'n Steam seems like a ripe idea too. I'm not really a fan of steampunk, but making a house out of that theme could be cool. Legendary Truth could be a neat franchise too. Not saying there will be constant haunted houses, but maybe the houses can take place in different investigations exploring bizarre phenomenon (UFOs, cryptozoology, etc.) Very X-Files like.
  10. I think this might be the version used in the zone: http://new.music.yahoo.com/irma-thomas/tracks/second-line-medley-i-done-got-over-iko-iko-hey-pocky-away--175362683 "Iko Iko" starts somewhere in the middle of the medley.
  11. Give it up to the Dogs for House of the Year!
