  1. I would guess only creatures, mainly bc the scary element of Silent Hill is the creatures. I guess it also depeds on where they are drawing inspiration from. In the game the town isn't abandoned right away like in the movie. The town exists with people and all in reality at first, but the protagonist enters the twisted reality of what we know to be Silent Hill. In the movie they have the cult that "lives" there, but I don't think they will play a factor in the house. We might see Alessa, either movie or video game version, but if we see her I doubt it will be in 'human' form.
  2. My only jump/startle from that year came from a statue scareactor in that sz. I would love to see it back, or some new version of it. I'm excited to see how they can make vampies new. Someone on here saw it on accident the other day, and said the Orlando facade is HUGE as well.
  3. That's not was I was referring to but ok No need to be rude, the information I have contradicts yours.
  4. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents into this discusson. As someone who is not a veteran to HHN forums, I can say that I avoid posting in the spec thread because there's a pretty good chance someone will just tear your post apart explaining how you are wrong and they are right and they know everything. I haven't seen too many posts that are just guesses based off nothing, and those I have seen are from people who are entirely new to this. You're right when you say the whole point of speculating is to figure the event out, but I think it should be an experience where everyone throws in their ideas based off clues or info. Not everyone is going to guess the right thing based off a clue. One subject or clue could mean so many things to different people. That's what makes it fun and interesting. Unfortunately there are a few that like to ruin it for everyone else, and turn speculating into a place to 'show off' how much they know by shooting peoples ideas down. On that note I'm really liking the dragon pics, what if they had flying dragons? That would be amazing..
  5. Actually rehearsals don't start until the second week of September, more like 29 or 30 days.
  6. I am also wondering what the facade will be. As a fan of the show I can't really think of one scene that captures the essence of the whole series that they could make into a facade. Also anyone remember the crawling torso zombie in the park from episode 1? I would love to see that, wouldn't be too diffiuclt to pull off either.
  7. Anyone else not particularly impressed with the costumes shown in the promo shots? They remind me of the Lady Luck masks used in Your Luck Has Run Out....oh the horror
  8. Which elements do you think they'll take from the games and which from the movies?
  9. Express passes for bars, now that is the best idea I've ever seen.
  10. Hah, New Vegas is probably the most disappointing game I have ever played. I am surprised by the whole post-apocolyptic theming of the facade, possibly a clue that the event will actually be apcolyptic themed as many have speculated months ago.
  11. These are really really good!
  12. Well I just saw this: http://www.universal...orida-3-3141182 Apparently they do also hire from outside as well
  13. I see where you're coming from Mr.Grim. Being a huge Silent Hill fan I would be heartbroken if the characters weren't on point. Especially since many of the characters have distinct looks/movements/attitudes. I have faith that A&D along with Konami will pull it off. I wouldn't be surprised if Uni contacted Patrick Tatopoulos (the creature effects guy who did the movie)
  14. TWD and Silent Hill confirmed, dreams do come true :)

    1. mr.luck

      mr.luck

almost as exciting when my boyfriend asked me to marry him!

  15. I wonder if the deteriorating projections can be used in close quarters. You hear the siren, the music changes, sounds, and the walls start to deteriorate. In the distance you can hear Pyramid Head dragging the giant knife across the floor. Maybe a room where the lights turn on and off, or noise...filled with nurses re-animating and becoming still, you have to walk through them. Oh a girl can dream
  16. So I'm hoping someone could help me out. Two weeks ago I had an interview for a job that pertains to HHN, and I have not heard anything back. If I don't get this job I would love to audition. I want to 'schedule an appointment' but I'm afraid this could reflect badly in some way or if I did get this job I could just cancel my 'appointment'? Feel free to message me if you have some advice EDIT: Heard back today, I won't be able to audition
  17. I have to admit that this costume is pretty badass. That's just not the image I see when I think gargoyles. Who knows I will probably love the gargoyle house if it comes into fruition.
  18. The only one I would drop purely off the clues is the gargoyle house. I don't really find gargoyles scary or creepy even. Maybe because I watched the Gagoyles cartoon when I was a kid. There are others I am not excited about but interested in seeing what they turn out to be. I am and will be crossing my fingers for TWD and Silent Hill house til the end though!
  19. One specific effect that really scared me was in Catacombs. The combination of strobe lights and plague doctor beaks literally inches away from my eye had me terrified in a not so good way of losing my eyeball. Obviously this would not be on purpose but I'm sure it's hard for the scare actor to see me in his mask/darkness/strobe lights. Best type of scare I've experienced was at my first ever HHN (XI), in RUN. More of psychological effect really, forcefully breaking up our group and sending us into different directions. We'd pass them every once in awhile through a chain link fence shouting "HOW DO YOU GET OUT OF THIS THING?!" Sirens would go off and gates would close behind/in front of you. I doubt a house will be made like this again due to the high demand of getting people in and out as fast as possible now. Classics like the 'statue scare' still get me, and the mere sound of chainsaws in the distance get my heart pumping.
  20. I would probably cry of happiness if this came true. It does indeed fit into the 'pyramids' clue from Dr.Jimmy. Pyramid Head is the most recognizable icon from the game series. I've always thought Silent Hill would make a killer house, all the creatures in the Silent Hill world are terrifying and weird. I do remember seeing somewhere Murdy saying that Silent Hill didn't test well with guests on surveys, but the average person probably has no idea what Silent Hill is about besides the movie. This could potentially be the best year ever in my mind if we got The Walking Dead and Silent Hill.
  21. As a self-appointed amateur Stephen King aficionado I can tell you that a King house will probably never happen solely because King is very protective of his works. He already has a hard time working with film makers adapting his books into film, in the past he has been burned by directors 'interpreting' his writing in a way that King does not like or even adding things that were not in his book. It's been known for a long time that King hated The Shining. He has recently become more open to the idea though, but he is extremely involved in the screen play and production. You have to understand that this is the man's life work, he doesn't want to just hand it over to some mega corporation to do with it what they please. A King house would be amazing if done properly, I can think of a dozen ideas off the top of my head. Although if they never get the blessing from King they could just do an inspired house...
  22. Every year they send out a media kit with clues and little treasures to their media contacts.
