  1. I need to go back and watch AWIL again if it has the possibility of becoming a maze. From what I remember about it though, I am having a little trouble imagining how they could flesh it out into a house. Aside from the transformation scene, a little girl with balloons, and the mutant nazi nightmare, nothing else is really jumping out from my memory banks. Oh and I just remembered Undead Jack :-) Gotta have an appearance (if the house indeed shows up this year)
  2. Yeah the UI on that site is wonky (as is the case with most city-run sites) Looking forward to see what comes down the ol "permit pipeline" this year :-)
  3. I mentioned this on Facebook already, but I think this newest clue from the good Dr points to the return of the Body Collectors in some way, shape or form. I believe the Buffy episode that their character was inspired from was called 'Hush', which would seem to correlate with the clue.
  4. Sequel to the Superstitions house from way back when.
  5. I know Uni can make just about damn near anything scary, but I really hope we don't get an RIPD house. It's just too MIB-ish for me, which is fine from a cinema perspective, but would be out of place as an HHN maze imo. Despite its subject matter, it seems like more of a buddy-action flick than a spooky, creepy film. We did have a house based on Fear Factor though, so I guess anything is possible...
  6. Bethesda (Fallout 3, etc) just released a new trailer for a survival horror game coming out in 2014. It's a live action trailer that looks like it was shot in an HHN maze so I definitely see house potential there. Also, the characters look pretty interesting (if not a little like the characters from 13 ghosts and/or Silent Hill). If the game proves to be successful, it might make for a pretty good maze for a future HHN. Take a peek: http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3229293/the-evil-within-trailer-revealed-coming-in-2014/ *You may have to sit through a terrible Dog the Bounty Hunter ad before the video starts...
  7. Perhaps the surname hint (if it is indeed Walker) refers to zombies in general, and not specifically TWD. That could give some more legs to the Resident Evil rumor and after watching that video, I'm pretty excited about that possibility.
  8. Good call, I'm admittedly terrible with scrambles :-)
  9. For the Ifrit scramble, it looks like it could be luNarEclipse (with the N and E in the bubbles)
  10. Balloon just sparked another guess... Big Trouble in Little China maze
  11. The balloon clue obviously points to a Killer Klowns from Outer Space maze...
  12. Love the cordceps zombie idea! And it would also play into the inevitable popularity of the new PS3 game coming out called The Last of Us.
  13. Scarecrows are a must-have, especially in a corn maze. You could even abandon the idea of a crazy group of rednecks and instead use a concept that suggests the scarecrows have come to life and will feed on anyone who ventures into their corn maze. This could make for some creative costume designs as well, although the idea of chainsaws may have to be abandoned. I cant really imagine a scarecrow/demon running around with a chainsaw.
  14. I would love to see a house loosely based on the Field of Screams scarezone from HHN XIV. I doubt they could ever do another cornfield scarezone outside so why not bring it into a soundstage/tent? It would most likely have to be fake plants, but the feel of that zone would translate really well into a house in my opinion. Hell, it kind of already has (ie the Hallow). I'm not talking about a direct sequel to the Hallow (which would be badass as well), but something more along the lines of the Hallow mixed with some TCM/Devils Rejects. A cheesy corn maze that you would find in any rural area, but it is run by a group of redneck lunatics. I'm thinking corn maze in the beginning (endless boo holes with a corn field), some other structures to walk through in the middle (maybe a barn where they are processing/butchering victims; grain silo filled with various remains, etc), and then a final corn maze to escape the house. Ideally, nobody is supposed to make it out of the corn maze alive, and the maze operators would be in constant pursuit of the patrons (us) and genuinely annoyed/surprised that we have not been captured yet. The last section of the corn maze would be the most intense as it would seem like everyone in charge of the maze would be doing everything they can to prevent your escape. Oh, and did I mention that there would be chainsaws? I know chainsaws inside are a big "no-no" so they will have to figure out how to make the electric ones sound as vicious as the gas-powered.
  15. Universal (Hollywood and Orlando) are both movie/production studios, as movies/commercials/television shows/music videos have been shot in both. As much as I would love to think that Universal Orlando keeps and maintains soundstages JUST for Horror Nights every year, that is sadly not the case. Those facilities are used for production purposes year round, and Universal Orlando does indeed have an incredibly talented make-up team that could have easily created a full overhead, soft and expressive mask for the Walking Dead, but chose not to. Hell, 4-5 unique molds spread across all the actors would have looked phenomenal (with slightly differing paint jobs). Whether or not AMC indeed forced Uni to use the current masks is unknown, unless you work for AMC or Universal and just aren't telling us ;-)
  16. I completely agree about the price, but since Uni is a movie studio, with more than capable makeup artists (2 of which were on SyFy's Face Off this year), they could have easily created these kind of masks themselves (or ones that are even better). The reason they didn't will forever remain a mystery. The masks they went with make the zombies look more like Leeatherface from TCM than Walkers from TWD (mainly since the neckline is completely exposed and unfinished...
  17. Since Uni had to use masks for this house (and street), how awesome would it have been if they would have used these masks (or something similar): http://www.compositeeffects.com/silprod.php?prodcode=SMCST01&refer=masks The ease of a mask, combined with the expressiveness of a makeup. Silicon masks are badass! I'm pretty sure the current masks they have now are silicon pours, but if they would have just included the neck and made is a "full overhead" (I guess thats what they call it with a neck piece), the effect would have been improved greatly in my opinion.
  18. If you are in the park early, it's not a tough one to get. The line for this house usually hovers around the 5 minute mark for the first hour, and the queue line is pretty bearable in length compared to some others.
  19. I noticed this too on Friday night. It was almost like a little mini trampoline haha
  20. Oh Dead End, how I love your house...but absolutely DESPISE your queue line... Those of you who have 5 in 1 badges for this house have my upmost respect. That's a hell of a lot of walking!
  21. Sorry Bride :-( I do love your scene to pieces, but your Rampaging husband steals the show for me in there. I caught you in reset almost everytime too, which is bad luck in timing on my part.
  22. Ah, that makes sense then. Yeah it definitely doesn't seem like an ideal scene to work haha. No hard feelings towards him at all, it just sticks out a lil bit when the rest of the house is so on point. Was he Cast A?
  23. Last night started out really nice. Then around 8:00PM, the AOLS descended upon Horror Nights. Even worse, the AODA (Army of Drunken Assholes) joined them shortly after. With their forces combined, they created the dreaded LOAD (Legion of Annoying Dipshits) Wether they are locking arms and meandering at a zombie's pace in front of you, or stopping in the middle of the already crowded street in a group of 10 to all enjoy a Turkey Leg, the LOAD are relentless in their effort to ruin your HHN experience. The LOAD also contributed to some express lines exceeding 30 minutes (I'm lookin at you Gothic and Dead End).
  24. Did this house 6 times last night, and it was absolutely incredible every time. I caught the entire first cast's set (Cast A? 6:00 - 7:00PM) My only gripe comes from the Creature from the Black Lagoon room. Creature on the left was doing an okay job moving around, but the one on the right was either not there, or not doing anything. I did see an Ops person in there at one point so maybe something happened. Either way, I saw zero scares, and zero scaring of the groups in front and behind me each time I went through. Everything else was absolutely fantastic! Wolfmen = On point everytime Brides of Dracula = multiple scares everytime Dracula = Scares almost everytime Mummy = Scares half the time Phantom = Awesome job considering the limitations of your scene Frankenstein hallway = Great ping-pong scares everytime Special shout out to Rampage Frankenstein's monster in the Lab (Cast A). You my friend are the master of your scene! Incredible energy throughout your entire set (and I saw just about your entire set). Mucho props on the fast reset and explosiveness of your rampage effect. Finale monsters, holy hell you guys were aggressive last night. Great job and one of my favorite houses of the event. Thanks for an awesome ton of runs :-)
  25. I "stalked" this queue line yesterday when I stayed for Stay and Scream and chatted with the queue line staff until they cleared the house for entry. I was the FIRST one through and was completely alone... I haven't had great runs through this house in the past, but doing it completely by yourself is a whole nother cup of tea :-) Major props to all the nurses that relentlessly targeted me and for Pyramid Head taking advantage of his partners distraction scare to give me the startle of the night :-) When I went through later in the night, Pyramid Head was gone :-( Glad I got to experience this house at least once, the way it was meant to be experienced...completely alone Props to the first cast of the night (Cast A I suppose)
