  1. You are very welcome Ross! World of Beer is like the mother ship
  2. Oh Lord, I think I'd pass out before I'd be able to start running....
  3. Long gone are the days of Fright Nights when scareactors could and would chase your ass down. Like Jeramy said, it's a sue happy world nowadays. All it would take is someone tripping on a curb and busting their ankle whilst running from a zombie/vampire/beast etc. to bring a lawsuit on Uni, hell and everyone involved with that zone. You'd like to think people are smart and would realize it's all make believe and not run screaming. I'm here to tell you, people are downright stupid. They wouldn't just run, they'd run into other people, inantimate objects, etc. They hit scareactors, other guests. It would be total pandamonium...even moreso than it can be already. If anything this whole not having any safe zones is nothing but hype. Sure it'd be cool if that was the truth, but I think we all know that won't be the case.
  4. I know exactly why they changed the name spelling and the dates, witness protection program. He's not really dead, it's just a front.
  5. If you squoosh a bug, there should be evidence that it is dead...like a corpse. When you kill a silverfish, they disintegrate like they never existed. That is a huge creep factor for me and like Ryan said, their fast and they give me the heebie jeebies. I can deal with all other bugs but silverfish...those things are just nasty.
  6. Yeap, you are so very right! If I had to picture what a real vampire looked like, the ones in 30 DON of would probably be what I would expect. They had those human elements, but you could also tell something wasn't right with them.
  7. There is a place over near Universal called World of Beers, I highly recommend trying them. Here's a link to their website: http://wobusa.com/Locations/DrPhillips.aspx It's a wonderful place, a mecca for beer lovers like myself...
  8. I forgot about the 30 DON variety of vampires...yeap, they scared the living bejesus out of me.
  9. That's what I'm thinking...give me the vamps from From Dusk Til Dawn, THAT'S in my minds eye what I picture a true vampire to be...they have fans, non-sparkling, dirty, gritty, evil and they just don't give a shit...
  10. I don't care where it's from...I still love it Mirrors the hospital scene perfectly! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
  11. I was thinking the same thing! By having this seamless concept of the cemetary thoughout the park, the hordes will be able to transition from area to areas, if that's what is going to occur. I really think we might be getting the interactive type scarezones we've all been clammering for for years now...this makes me a happy camper!
  12. We are allowed to give our employee preview tickets to a family member of friend, but selling them to anyone is a MAJOR no no.... ...as it is with any comp tickets we receive. Of course, whoever you decide to give them to, you've got to trust that they aren't a complete idiot and try to sell them to someone else...which is why I am incredibly selective as to who I give any comp tickets to at all.
  13. I think one of the major issues with people not rating TWD higher is simply that they haven't watched the show. I think most people are just thinking "Eh, another zombie house..." For those of us who have watched TWD the past two seasons, it's the chance to follow in the footsteps of the characters we've invested so much time in. Silent Hill being on top doesn't surprise me, especially considering all the gamers we have on the forum. I'm shocked to see Alice Cooper rock bottom though.

    Reaper's Art

Do I get royalties from the sales of this creation? LOL
  15. First time through, I'm the same way Ryan...it's like a kid on Christmas morning, you wanna see what surprises the next room has in store! Once we have discovered the houses that we really want to experience thoroughly, that's when we go back through several times, as slow as the pace will allow, so that we have a chance to take everything in. Like you we plan on doing that with this house if the strobes and lightening effects are going to be as exceptional as we are hoping. LOL...this sounds familiar, like something I would do...why yes, because we did the exact same thing! It's nice on those slower nights when you can really take your time walking through a house, taking in all the details and appreciating the hard work that goes into them.
  16. Don't say that or the next rumor we hear will be "Did you hear there is going to be a freaking huge spider web over the entire park? I hear they are buying it at the Dollar Store!" If they ever had a house called "Silverfish" I wouldn't be able to even step foot inside it. I can handle every bug and creepy crawly out there, but those things. You kill them and they disintegrate...WTF is up with that?!!
  17. See Chris, again, it's your delivery that just throws me off the deep end. You know I love you sweetie...but you have to remember I was just stating my opinion...nothing more, nothing less. You tend to get incredibly defensive when you respond to people who don't have the EXACT same opinion as yours. You might have thought the Usher was not lacking in any way, but I however did. And again, every other year the so called "icon" has been predominately featured in all aspects of marketing...which is why I personally, again this is my opinion, don't view them as the icon this year. You can view them that way, and that's perfectly fine because that's your opinion and I respect it. My previous response to your original post about them was simply including MY opinion on the topic. What you may find "obvious" about the entire park being turned into a cemetery as them being the icons, I view it simply as what it is, decor for the event. Again, simply MY take on the situation. With the entire being a cemetary, that also just makes it easier for the hordes to rotate from area to area throughout the night without breaking the concept. I don't take your responses personally because I know you lack a filter, as do I, however, many other people might feel they are being talked down to when you respond in this fashion...they feel like dip shits because you think their opinion is "wrong" and doesn't match yours.
  18. I haven't even seen any of the "Twilight" movies, but from what I've heard and seen on commercials, he's about as un-vampire like as they come. Seriously, could he look more anemic? I mean come, he's a freaking vampire. I see why this legion is necessary, but vampires have always been my least favorite monster/Halloween character. I guess because they always seem to be just kind of there, not really super threatening. I can't be scared by someone who dresses better than I do and in the case of most female and male vampires, wears more makeup than I do.
  19. This is why you and I will get along famously...every time we hit that room room in DE with the mannequins and live scareactors mixed, I made it a point to walk as slow as possible...regardless of how many people were pushing us from behind...I wanted to enjoy that room to its fullest extent I'm very curious to see if the strobe and light elements that made DE so successful will prove to do the same for this house.
  20. That and all the billboards thus far showcase houses, i.e. TWD and Silent Hill. I would think if there was going to be a designated icon...even The Iniquitus, they would be showcased. For me, the Iniquitus are more of a back story character to explain the scarezones. They may be who are in control of the legions, but unless something changes dramatically, they are not close to what I could consider the definitive icon for this year...in the sense that we are not going to see television or print ads based around them. And as far as the Usher goes, I always viewed him as a friend of the Director who really, really, really so badly wanted to be an icon. He asked the Director to put in a good word for him and milky eyed self, but in the end his creep factor was lacking severely. When it comes down to it, I don't care who or what is or isn't the icon this year...it could be a troop of rabid Girl Scouts and I wouldn't give a rats ass.
  21. I'm very curious to see this whole zone in its complete glory...I think this is going to appeal to all of us who really dig that traditional Halloween vibe. I know right? Come on...with the budget Universal has, the Dollar Store is the mecca of decor stores. Rats, fine with 'em. Snakes, fine with 'em. Hell, even spiders, yes, fine with 'em. But if you put silverfish in a maze, I would go freaking bat shit crazy.
  22. For me, the entire point of this house is to walk in the footsteps of the characters of the show through some of the most iconic scenes from the first two seasons. That being said, having zombies in the house is kind of necessity. I don't really know how they would use any of the characters to begin with...unless they had dioramas set up and they were battling with zombies, etc. But to me, watching someone else avoid the zombies isn't quite as much fun as trying to avoid them myself.
  23. I so wish I would've known you were going to be out there today...Eric and I were out there too! I was happy to see Kid Zone in person with all the jack-o-lanterns. Didn't see a ton of additional construction, did notice that they are working on the queue line at The Simpsons, have half of it boarded up and ready to go.
  24. We walked through Kid Zone today and at least we get our jack-o-lanterns in the trees over there along with some of the larger stand up ones too with a few crows to boot. There are what look like mausoleum entrance doors close to MIB with more crows too. Amen to every word of that...I'm just so old school when it comes to Halloween decor that it pains me to not see more of it at a Halloween event! I always thought with all the row house facades it would be neat to see jack-o-lanterns in the windows of a few of the houses. And of course, just more outright Halloween oriented decorations throughout the park. EXACTLY! You walk through the park during Mardi Gras or Christmas and the amount of decor reflecting both is readily apparent. They just need to hit up the Dollar Store, think of all the decorations Universal could buy there...LOL
