  1. So one definitely agree these should return, I would say since a majority of people missed them...I was lucky to see 2 of the 3 that opened (missed BJ)! I agree with legacy that these also technically won't be repeats! But my thinking on that was this year while the house was fun! We didn't realllyyy see them at full tilt either! So I'd like to see it at its full potential as well! (Of course if possible as this continues on)..just my 2 cents!

  2. Just saw a YouTube video from Rix Flix...That said up to 5 houses possible during day hours, not sure on dates possibly weekends..maybe more days??...reduced actors...think this is a huge deal if true! Says where there is smoke..there is fire!! Coming from NYC, Florida better get off the quarantine list so I can make this happen!! Id assume the IPs, and keep the Originals for next year??

If this is true I will be pretty sad. Hollywood got the better deal. Never saw HDD but heard it was meh. And Purge... loved the scarezone. Still loved it when the brought it back a 2nd time. But the house was meh. And now I’m just sick of it. I like new things, hate repeats.

Both time purge has been used in a house...its because thing have been "purged" from the scheduled plan (IE. Ouija and Scream)...and they were put into an already built  scenario...as long as the same thing didn't happen this might technically be the first purge house that was actually meant to be the purge from the jump!

  4. Sprung 2 makes sense...im assuming we will get a movie screen and hopefully "some classic or 80's themed cars" outside!

Its got a lot of space, where our normal house facade has been back there these past few years,  in that area to make it feel drive in -ish around the queue !!

Easy... All the zones have been announced, they've announced the "theme" for this year (the past), and none of the houses are tagged as "icon" houses. There's no second show to feature an icon, and I've been TOLD by numerous sources there's no icon.

In regards to future icons, there looking at using one for 30.

Jack. They're interested in using Jack.

I hear ya @Legacy!! The earlier post was just more out of frustration....your furthering story line and hinting at things, but yet where is it getting us.

I know money talks,  but with the value original content brought esp. in 25 and 27...can't help but think what going back to the "roots" for a former/dashed/ or new icon could do.

Jack is the mainstay i get that, I hope more come with him like the last time!

Speaking of etymology and history of names:

Emily Alice is an interesting choice. Emily is shortened to Em in the postcards. If we go with Emily being the aunt, then she is Aunt Em. Emily is the real name of Aunt Em in the Oz books.

And Alice as the other name. Of course, Alice makes one think of Alice in Wonderland.

That makes two names linked to stories used in Scary Tales, both of which had their own scarezones in 2008. There's rumors of an Oz house for this year.

And the other link that I can't ignore:

Alice didn't just go to Wonderland through a rabbit hole. Alice went Through the Looking Glass as well.

Easter eggs for my favorite icon? Nods of remembrance for those of us who obsess?

    @Ueeediot and @mystiquephreeq

I was originally thinking, of course the 2 year old isn't on the trip to Paris. Makes sense they left him home, they could be there honeymoon? Work?

But now your above connections,  @mystiquephreeq they seem to really sway me.

Because how is Aunt Em not a nod to a future announcement? Did we ever decide is the supposed OZ house "Path of the Wicked" related, makes sense with on its own but no home thing from way in the past??

And yes to me anyways,  the Alice connection is strong that middle name can't be a mistake! Bloody Mary's slogan/backstory literally says "Step through the Looking Glass" !

Argh why you so sure of NO ICON @Legacy!! Unless this is a setup into a future Icon year coming next?

So it would be safe to believe that Charlie is Kim's son?  He would be just a few days past his 2nd birthday on Halloween 82, when the last cards are sent by Emily.

That explains the "grab Charlie" part.

I take Charlie as Emily's son...No??  I feel like the get to Grandpa's  is the motherly instinct telling them to get somewhere safe if the US has this outbreak coming too??

  8. Universal probably promised them a permanent safe location, after the debacle with the stage last year!!

I think AOV will be fine in FFL! They can probably even do more that we haven't seen due to location change.

As for the second show?? I'm assuming it has to be based on an IP??..I feel like we got all the street and show original content  in this announcement.

Anyone got anything else on it??

“Your Destination is below” could refer to the picture on the id, or the lit up thing.

The Forsaken? It can’t be the bus ride to hell.

You picked under sea...below, i think underground...could we see catacombs??

But outside the box, since @Legacy pointed to a different type of update first, below could mean unearthed helping us figure out what to expect of this mystery?

Froopy Land just kinda looks like one to me.

I realized they were talking about Clue 3, so I was gonna edit to apologize and then I also started thinking pink is a lighter shade of red which is the color of blood which is in the name Bloody Mary where they had a Scary Tales house which I’ve been thinking about...maybe Froopy Land is Oz.

Edit: @mystiquephreeq was talking about something that was in a house, but not it’s own (The Wizard of Oz was in Scary Tales) and a SZ (The Path of the Wicked, Scary Tales: Screampunk) so maybe it’s a version of The Wizard of Oz??

A version of OZ would be great!!

I think an HHN Maze would follow a darker tone like Emerald City, which was a show on NBC...unfortuantely it was cancelled (i liked it) so doubt a connection to it would even matter.

“The original idea for the icon this year would have been ‘The Evil Queen’, the concept would have heavily geared the event towards mocking their mousy neighbour. There was even discussions of a house called ‘Unmagic Kingdoms’ where various familiar attractions had gone awry”

    and there you have it!

That sounds frickin amazing!! I'd so be down for it!

“Jill” (who became Chance), the Master, Terra Queen (technically), Fate.

In 2010 they did a whole presentation on them.

Yes forgot Jack and Jill was the original thought, which morphed and later became Jack and Chance...who is "the master" is that something that later became puppet master in Singapore?

Terra Queen in my head counts enough as an icon, but i see your technicality. Fate later became lady luck, so it was used sort of...I was just trying to look at unused things we know.

All are great though, I love going through the history!!

The icon wasn’t Nathaniel Crowe, I’d have to look it up.

The only Icon changes as a collective whole we are aware thanks to aiello , I believe at least are Cindy, Crow, and Eddie going unused...anything else I'm missing gang?

I'm sure there are tons more, but those are the  fleshed out stories we have to look at of unused. Unless we are adding Bone or whoever to this group since we didnt real get a story with him, I'll leave it out for now.

I was re-reading the excellent HHN book by Chris Ripley last night to get a feel for the original dead exposure, where there was a note to say that in that year, one original concept didn’t get off the ground as they changed the icon. It was called “un-magic kingdom”, and would have  essentially been a theme park gone wrong. This sounds like a great concept, and I could see it fitting quite nicely with the R&M clue set 3.

I wonder how Crow fit into "un-magic kingdom", unless it was the traveling carnival of the past gone wrong, as it ended up on his land??

I would enjoy some kind of permanent maze in theory, but I feel it might pale in comparison to the yearly fresh houses we get at HHN. not 100% sure on how I feel about it yet.

I hear the way WD in Hollywood works is it gets pumped full of actors during HHN times, and during the rest of the season it runs on more of a skeleton crew?

I'm sure someone has more knowledge on this than me, as I haven't been to UNI HOLLYWOOD???
