  1. It's not about the icon per se. It's about immersion. It's about feeling excited beyond the knowledge that you're going to a cool halloween event and actually stepping into a story. If I had it my way the hype would start early in the year in the form of an alternate reality game (think 2008's legendary truth) that worked it's way slowly to a reveal. It's just that much more exciting when you actually feel involved and connected to the event on a personal level. When you can suspend your disbelief just that much easier. I realize that not everyone cares about these kinds of things, so a balance is hard to strike. You don't want to make the casual goers feel locked out of the loop by the time the event rolls around. Thus, the designation of an Icon with accompanying theme is usually the most efficent way to establish immersion.
  2. 'pereceptions become reality' sounds like the tag line for every persona game ever so obvs i'm excited for this house
  3. 1. Silent Hill 2. Walking Dead 3. Dead End 4. house of horrors 5. gothic 6. penn and teller 7. alice cooper
  4. Obligatory ok really though that hat is just shoddy. the execution of the entire costume is too tame but it's that hat in particular that bothers me.
  5. i can't possibly contain my glee over this ok when it comes to survival horror games i'm a 10/10 total trainwreck baby so i've only managed to finish SH3 and shattered memories personally, but i'm so in love with the mythos of this series i can't wait to see it translated into a house. imho there's enough nightmare fuel here to theme an entire event around.
